One would think the shell game or hucksters in general funny..but they aren't when you're being played by them! thank you for posting this. keep the Abbott and Costello dream alive.
That almost happened to me a few weeks ago. My parents and I stopped at T.G.I. Friday's after my eye doctor appointment. My mom always gets a water with lemon when she eats at a restaurant. She went to squit the lemon into the glass and it failed horribly. I hadn't been paying any attention to it until she said, "Did I get ya?" to my dad. I looked over and there was lemon juice from her glass all the way to the floor on my side of the table diagonally. It was all over the inside of my dad's reading glasses case. I just start laughing. I say to her, "Wow you're worse than dad with the spray butter." That's a running gag because of how my dad puts spray butter on his bread. Instead of spraying downward he holds the bread up in front of him and sprays it hitting other people at the table.
Weird how people get in youtube comments sections and non-improvised stuff becomes improvised. They'd known this bit for years. They teamed up in 1935.
now I saw this same sketch but played out different.. did they do this on the road and each show had a slightly different routine like stand up comics or was one from the tv show and another from a special?
This skit seems to incorporate several of their previous or future skits in it, and it is still hilarious.
This skit never ceases to make me laugh, hahahah so great
Agreed ROKURU. And I feel that it is up there with the "dice" skit from the 'Buck Privates' film. Great watches, endlessly.
I nearly lost it when he pulled out the huge lemon
That's no lemon, that's a melon. You might be dyslexic.
@@ipudisciple you’re correct, it was no lem
@@ipudisciple hahahahahahahhah. One of the best TH-cam comment diagnoses I have ever seen!
@@ipudisciple seriously worth more of a laugh then the whole skit, I have to love on the OP as well.
This is my punishment for reading comments while watching the video :(

Colton Larsen---I think that was a blooper and they left it in there.

Trivia
The lemon being burst was by accident.
Other then that, the rest was very much also improv lol. Yea.
TGMG no way!
Maybe the first time but then it was added into the act
There may be some improv, but abbott and costeelo definitely practiced that routine.

Colegate Comedy Hour
Love these guys, but Costello always cracked me up!
brilliant.
3:00 It's not two 10's for a 5. What a rube. It's a 5 for two 10's.
Lou's like a broken record at one point.
Not planned but maintained
why is this soo much more funny then the shit we have today
I love this skit because it goes both ways. Yes Costello is the butt of the joke, but he also tricks Abbott a little, which not his usual character.
a classic.....
Two tens for a five
ROTFLOL!!!!! Genius!!!!
I watch this 3 times and I'm still confused. Great skit though.
2:56 Fifteen dollars went south.
Abbot looks like Nixon in this one.
Good thing he didn't ask where Bagel St. was.
