    Oh hey. You there. Yeah, you. I tried something new and I'd love some feedback. Did the voices I did (Screaming, whispering, chanting, etc) and effects I added to those sections add to the video, detract from it, or did it not really have an effect for you?

    • @saltlamp3869
      @saltlamp3869 ปีที่แล้ว +38

      The additional voices convinced me I wasnt paying close enough attention to the sounds of DF, making me sad I missed out on immersion. Loved it in the video, very convincing.

      When I really think about it? Both. It added, it detracted. The background whispers definitely enhanced a LOT, but then the parts w/ your voice playing multiple times were pretty hit or miss, kind of took some getting used to. The "Loss, Burn, [don't remember], No" bit was not a great bit though.
      Creepy background whispers are always good.

    Around 7:30 you comment on how little stuff the traders brought. You might already know this, but the reason they brought so little is because they have a limited carry weight and stone is ridiculously heavy. Because they brought the ores you requested, they couldnt carry much of anything else

    I like this a lot. I liked the extra stuff you added, voices and effects. The whispers were a little too quiet, but it's probably fine for people with headphones.
    I'd say have fun with making your videos because, it seems to me, when creators are enjoying themselves instead of "working" the videos come out better. I really like the story stuff on this video, but if it starts to suck for you then let the game do the work because you don't want to burn yourself out, either.
    He doesn't do Dwarf Fortress, but Rycon has a pretty good balance with letting the game do what it does, but he comes in with a lot of his own storytelling on top of it. If you haven't watched anything by him, personally, I like his Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead stuff best, but his RimWorld videos are pretty great, too.

    that some of the books didn't burn just proves that the information on those books is holy. now whether this means the books should rest protected in the magma until some future dwarven miner digs it's wisdom from the rock, or whether these holy unburnable books should be retrieved and displayed in a well appointed space, that remains to be seen.

    I've always wanted to create a prison fort where the dwarves were hostile to anything non-dwarven and would take all living creatures to be imprisoned.
