A Night of Halibut Spearfishing in California

- I went for a night dive in search of halibut, spearfishing in California. I don't use scuba tanks, I prefer to freedive.
Speargun is a 30 inch mid handle custom made gun from Mike Novotny. Love having a gun on a dive to measure the fish.

Woah thats heaps of big fish in the one area! last time we went snorkelling I took my daughter to a place called shelly beach here in sydney. we get reef sharks and wobegongs(??) initially its scary and then you realise later they arent that big. lol

Secret spot in Southern California ;) But halibut show up anywhere there is sand. So you can find them if you look long enough.

It was a cheap light I bought on Aliexpress. It said it was 5000 lux per square meter. Didn't say what the lumens were.
