S 5020 person. Used to seed with a 1968 Wheatland .what a beast. In the dead of night .2::00 am . Heading up a long hill. I'd pull out the stop button and let that 531 cid spool up to 2500 rpm .And watch the muffler turn cherry red Id e ven see flames come out of the muffler What a blast. Who can relate?
Iam in the middle of restoring a 67 5020 that my family bought ans drove off the line in Waterloo... your video gave me some needed inspiration!!! Great work!!!
Greetings from the French speaking part of Belgium. Beautiful restoration, congratulation. I remember seeing the first 5010 at the farming expo in bruxelles at the beginning of the sixties!!! 100hp ! We are far away now!!!
It’s amazing that a 5020 and exhort that kind of horsepower and torque the website I was looking at said 380 hp to 425 turbo and 1100 foot pounds of torque that’s amazing that that transmission can sustain that we’re actually in the rear end
@Renner Stock Farms Years ago, I worked in a tire shop that served the Farm Community. I remember a guy and his 6030. It was a hot machine and spun out pretty easily pulling a huge field cultivator. He had plenty of cast iron on it and wanted all 4 20.8x38s filled with fluid. He called fuming mad the next day, complaining that all 4 tires were flat and the tractor covered in fluid. We went out to put new tubes in and refill the tires when he asked how to keep the tires from spining on the rims. In steps the young drag racer saying we should drill the wheels and screw the beads to the wheels like they did top fuel dragsters. I got that job because I suggested it. It worked but it took quite a while and a few 3/16ths drill bits. To this day, I hate straight head screws.
I need to make or get wider rims for my combine tires. I have a 9600 jd combine that someone wanted more traction with so they put some 900/80 r32s on and I love the tires but the sidewalls so bubbly on that I just can't stand them they got put on the oem rims for the combine. I love the way your rims are and how your tires look on the rims
How long will the fuel last ?? I love the shiny green paint .. I got to go pick up a new combine at the factory in Moline Illinois just across the Missouri river & took a tour of the factory.. & left later that afternoon to head back to Kansas .. My boss went & picked up the other one we ordered .. Thank you for your videos they are always interesting .. From a retired farmer of 40 some years ..
I wish I had that answer for you. I generally top off the tank when I go to use it but only run it for an hour or so at a time, so I never actually get to run the tank down. With that being said, I highly doubt it would last a full day on the 5010 fuel tank!
You should bring it to Franklin County Antique Machinery Club show in Brookville,IN. September 23rd - 26th. Featuring John Deere. We can get it under a pavilion building if you contact us.
Did you know that Detroit Diesel and the John Deere were very close to a merging their engine operations back in the mid 1980s? The new company was going to be called DeDec.
Late to the show as usual. But would you have the paint code as well as single stage or base clear , etc. Also what paint manufacturer is used most often. Thanks, and I’m sure you’re buttons are bursting every time you drive those beautiful tractors.
If you don't weight the tractor down too much and let the tires slip a little then yes. Forcing the tractor to hook up with that extra horsepower will tear it up fast.

Love the Kinze repower. Worked part time for a friend that had a 8640 that was repowered with a 400 Cummins from Kinze. Hated when he sold it.
A neighbor had an 8630 repowered with the same kit and they loved it as well.
We had a 8650 repowered from kinze 855 Cummins it was a well done by them
my left ear enjoyed this
Your restorations, your great collection and your videos are outstanding. Thanks for all that you are doing

Thank you Ashton, we all appreciate that!
12:42 The detail of that custom front weight bracket is fantastic!
That was one of my favorite parts of the build, thanks Jared!

Glad I could help you out, thanks for watching!
You all did a standup job on this build. Way to go!!! Can’t wait to see your motor project complete 🙂. As always WORK SAFE.
The 4230 is together right now, you'll hear it run in a couple days!
@@RennerStockFarms I am anxiously awaiting it!
Renner Stock Farms sounds good 😎🇺🇸
Beautiful machine. I can’t wait to see it in person at Rantoul.
We will see you there!
@@RennerStockFarms Oh Ya

Impressive work! I always appreciate a build like this and the work involved.
Thank you very much!
That's an incredible looking tractor the real chunky tyres. The chrome covers on the Detroit. Great pictures at the end.

Very cool, and just think after running it all day, when you lay down at night you can listen to the exhaust all night too, lol.
Absolutely! That screaming Detroit gets baked into your memory and ear drums.
What a beautiful machine
Respect and support from the UK.
Thank you!
Very nice build, you guys do great work! Stay warm!
Thanks, you too!
What great vision you guys had for this machine. Snazzy paint job and the chrome really sets it off.
It took a lot of work but I am thankful for everyone who helped to make it happen!
Went all out, I love it!
Nice job done on the John Deere restored.👍🇺🇸
Great vision and talent put into this amazing build. I would be proud to guide this workhorse through the fields doing what she likes to do best.
Awesome looking Tractor

Beautiful machine. One heck of a transformation.
Coolest tractor ever made. 5020
Thanks John good work 👍👍
Thank you!

They were tough that's for sure! If you were to really weight the tractor down and force it to hook up I am afraid it wouldn't last very long at all.

Love this big hog good job boys, no seriously good job boys, big time
I like the stack on it where do you get that style from
I made it like that. I welded the 5 inch elbow to a 5 inch pipe 👍

I did not know that, I'll have to look into that!
Deere had a big part in developing the Series 60 while Detroit was losing a big market share from Cat and Cummins.
@@petercarlsen3462 Yes, we made parts for Detroit, Cat and Cummins at the Waterloo Works back in the 1980s.
Travail magnifique et tracteur superbe dommage que cela ne soit pas en France
Wow lots of work,do you think it was a kenzie rower originally?
did they do anything to the transmission on these tractors? or just left stock?

It might just be me but I don't think Bernie could run that tractor. Lol 👍
He couldn't handle it lol
@@RennerStockFarms I think he would really like the black smoke though. 😎
I think u should have left the row crop fenders on
We thought about that, and it still would have looked great, but with the big tires we thought the wheatland fenders would match everything better
Do you still have the cab? Is it for sale? Thanks.
Why did you remove the Cab???
Will the rear end stand up to the hp?
If you don't weight the tractor down too much and let the tires slip a little then yes. Forcing the tractor to hook up with that extra horsepower will tear it up fast.
Did you paint Bernie?
Nope, poor guy got cold and went home!
didn't know Burney was a John Deere man
Yo yo
I am Looking for a cab for 4520
are you interested in a 4400 combine
Oh yea first
You're fast!
I need those 18.4-34s if you wanna sell em?
Pimp my ride...
