Yes. The current infrastructure is not set up for AI agents, especially content sites like Reddit looking to monetize their data. But if the tech advances and the consumer wants it, serious changes to the infrastructure will likely take place. Thanks for watching and adding your thoughts!
I know right? Autonomous agents are right around the corner, humanoid robotics is finally taking off, and growth has gone from every year to every month to every week. We are actually seeing exponential growth and it's crazy!
Meh, maybe. However, I have yet to find a single human who doesn't go out their way & do whatever they have to in order to interact with an organization's "smart agent". Maybe one day... But not anytime soon.
Mobile apps are never going away because they are the perfect way to encapsulate and abstract a unit of functionality in a way it can be easily marketed and incorporated / remove from an operating system or session. It doesnt matter how much tech evolves, there are always going to be different users with different needs, and you have to distribute the packaged code that provides the functionality to satisfy those needs in a modular way, so the different modules can be distributed and monetized. Apps offer that functionality in a way it is appealing to users and companies alike, in conceptual boxes with rounded corners and logos you can visually drag and arrange. This is fundamentally the best possible abstraction you can have, so even when AI reaches AGI, it will still have apps or modules, each with their own logo and price you have to install and uninistall, because apps represent companies and their services they want to offer. To think of apps going away is to think companies will stop offering digital services to consumers in a modularized way, and that is extremely unrealistic.
This is a great opinion! Thanks for sharing. You may be totally right that the app format is the perfect solution for both companies and consumers. There are so many ways this landscape could evolve, and AI Agents are just one option that could upend the current infrastructure.
The flop of the AI pin is a proof that this will not work, people like apps and numbers don't shrink and why would I trust an AI to do stuff like booking planes and stuff ? There are things that people like to do themselves. Putting AI everywhere is just boring and useless
Great video and cool visuals. I was wondering how would the competitive space look like for AI agents? What I mean is that all those apps you mentioned are competitors but serve different purposes, But wouldn't all agent AIs serve the same purpose. Would we eventually be saturated with a bunch of ai Agent options or just a few?
Great question! One option is that these apps create APIs so that agents can easily interact with them to carry out tasks. So the AI Agent would likely be one interface (likely your phone) that interacts directly with many apps on your behalf. But there’s a few possibilities for how this evolves.
Most people like to feel they are in control of their decisions. At least I wouldn't let an AI choose the best hotel, the restaurant I'm going to eat, and the way to speak to my coworkers. Even if it was better than what I would come up with, I would still want it to just be an option, not a full automated thing that eliminates all my human spontaneity.
That’s a great point. Thanks for sharing! Spontaneity can lead to interesting discovery and fun. However, we’ve diminished that a lot over the years. Algorithms cut into spontaneous content discovery, dating, or even home buying. So the question is: are we willing to forge a future that encourages spontaneity, or do we further automate to lessen workload? Fascinating topic and I appreciate you bringing it up.
Yea i agree i feel like we're in the undercurrent of a wave that's about to form from further evolution in AI. Honestly everything will change in the way we use the "app". "app" probably wont even be used anymore
I would like to know more about the LAM model that the Rabbit R1 claims to use. I couldn't find much research about "Large Action Models" so it's probably a marketing term? I think the idea of a central agent is interesting, but I'm still skeptical about the execution.
Thanks for adding. LAM is definitely a marketing term. It’s their iteration on an agent. You can set up many of the functions and integrations on a desktop computer, then execute them with the devices.
Wow, You're sounding better than any robot. You're a real person, with a great big heart too. I can tell. You answer your mail. And that takes heart. Joe Rogan doesn't respond to my comments. Does he have a heart ❤️? Well, of course he does but not as big as yours because you reply, Joe just loads another bowl. Which he loves ❤️. So there is hope for him yet. Don't you ever lose your heart for the service in the game. After all, win or lose, it's a win 🏆.
AI agents, while innovative, come with their own set of limitations compared to visual interfaces, primarily due to the inherent constraints of audio in accessing and conveying information. Visual apps provide users with a faster and more comprehensive experience; for instance, when searching for a flight to the UK, users can quickly browse through numerous options in terms of affordability, speed, luxury, or eco-friendliness. This efficiency surpasses that of interacting with an AI agent, which may take longer to provide the same level of information. It's likely that AI agents will not replace apps entirely, but rather be integrated into existing popular apps as an alternative or supplementary means of interaction.
interaction with the real world requires general intelligence. No one would want to loose $500 on a misbooked flight because of occasional hallucination. Not only that, the AGI would need to be cost efficient enough to compete with the 30 watt powered human brain when it's interacting with all those apps hooked into the real world. So until those agents achieve cost efficient general intelligence level (this is not necessarily anywhere near on the horizon considering the amount of "real world simulation" that was required for general intelligence to appear in organisms), they will only be restricted to risk free tasks. See the success story of Tesla's self driving to understand where this is going.
There are many "AI agents" already present for many years. Siri for example. And it works not very well. Apps still exist and used by people every day. It is unlikely that new "AI agents" will be any better than Siri. When I book a hotel I want to see photos, location, price, parking, etc. It will take too long to discuss all that with "AI agent" by voice. App is much better and easier to use for that task
Still here! Your videos are always very interesting! They always give me something new to think about, and I get so excited when they come out. I have one critique, just because I want to see your channel grow. The crumpled paper filter that you use is a little too opaque. It's kind of distracting and nauseating. Maybe make it a little more transparent. If you reply to this comment, I'll go ahead and delete it. I don't want to keep a critical comment up forever.
There's a few preliminary examples out there (none of which have caught on so far). Phones in some form will likely endure for the foreseeable future. But apps are a little more murky. It may be faster and easier to get from point A to point B with an AI agent rather than navigating an interface. Regardless, thanks for watching and adding.
I predict restaurant menus of the future will be less deterministic and your ai will talk to the restaurant ai and you'll get bespoke food every time. What say you brethren?
Maybe not. But… maybe? People seem to trust their phone with their wallet. May not be long until AI Agents are seen as a simple extension of the phone.
nobody actually cares about what's good for users. whoever can maximize efficiency, most likely in the form of cost cutting, will become the norm. "progress" has nothing to do with it.
I usually don't write comments, but this time algorithm needs to know about this amazing video
The algo isn't going to teach itself! Thanks for watching
@@Synapse.Official your colour grading is eerily amazing. I thought my screen was broken, turns out I'm just entering AI utopia. or am I?
We forget the apps can still block the agents from interacting with them, think reddits api access, now across entire apps.
Yes. The current infrastructure is not set up for AI agents, especially content sites like Reddit looking to monetize their data. But if the tech advances and the consumer wants it, serious changes to the infrastructure will likely take place.
Thanks for watching and adding your thoughts!
Well Ai pin and Rabbit turned out to be trash, furthermore it solidified the use case for apps and mobile phones.
I'm genuinely so glad somebody's finally talking about this and voicing what I've been thinking and couldn't word before.
Definitely feels like big changes are coming.

You're way to astute. The Ai is gonna make you an offer you simply can't refuse, as Marlon Brando said in the movie Dumb and Dumber.

I need to be more spontaneous. Maybe there's an ai app for that. Or we can join forces and make one. I have time now.

More. But for now, we’re sharing lots of stories we’re obsessed with.

Classic tech bro reasoning. How do I communicate with the AI agent? How does that make me stop having a Phone?
