After spending 3 hours today searching for stuff, I concur: google is ready for the flick. Sponsored links, shopping links, websites with seo gaming the algorithm. Took me right back to the days of Alta vista
Great point. Monetization for them is much trickier. They have a premium tier to test a different business model. In short, they’d probably never make nearly the money google did from ads.
Perplexity just uses Google search in the back. Compare search results on Google and perplexity. Then they feed the results to an llm which summarises it. Nothing groundbreaking
Comparing perplexity to traditional search engine like google is fine and clearly evident of benefits. I am just curious what’s stopping new startups from easily copying Perplexity model as it’s mostly a RAG fronting OpenAI GPT. Whats the unique differentiator for Perplexity to standout for the long run.
Very valid point. I think it’s the fact that it’s gone from a very advanced RAG, to a differentiated faster stack with users and an API for developers, and finally the funding that followed. Not an unstoppable moat for sure, but they have the clearest lead among search startups.
Agree, as you said the early start, strong backing and word of mouth are in favor of Perplexity now. Glad to see someone is finally beating Google at its own game, pretty much they screwed as pivoting to generative search is shooting their own foot.
AI search will never work long term. It's self defeating idea. It can only work when it's niche. The moment it becomes the dominant way of search is the moment it dies because sites won't give you access to their content if it won't result in a click. For AI search to work it would require millions of content creators to just work for free to boost couple AI search companies. That clearly isn't going to happen. They will just block all those AI search engines effectivelly killing them as those AIs will need constant access to new information to stay viable.
google dont show you 1000000 results for your search terms. i mean have you all visited the 20s page? google sorts the search results to ads and promoted content. Google its not really a "search engine"
If I could invest on youtube channels I would bet on this one. Your style is unique and you bring lots of value, so if you're consistent the algo will accept you

There’s definitely a better way. But is google willing to do it the better way?
Rare to see a new channel have me excited for new videos. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for watching!
your quality content is way more than standards.
keep up the good job.
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching
I'm never disappointed by your videos. ALWAYS worth the time to watch. And by the way, the static paper filter is MUUUCH better than the dynamic one.
Always appreciate your input! And agreed!
Great video! This channel is a nice addition to the AI news environment ...
Appreciate that! Trying to do it a little differently. Much more to come.
This is another bluff as they use chatgpt.
True but how could Perplexity make more money than Google?

Yeah... this channel is at a million already. Subbed at less than 1k.
An OG sub! Thanks for watching

Simple answer No
Hey, I'd love to work with you. I'm a Visual Designer and i'm good at a whole bunch of things including video editing.
We love to work with talented people!
Perplexity sucks, asks for the dumbest context and most of the time it doesnt even find answers... Is this a paid video?
Interesting. Like the answers are inaccurate or you’re getting non-answers?
(Also no paid content on the channel. Thanks for watching.)
