I’m a soft gamine and always been a big believer in hats and belts! Long May they reign (for every body type 😘). Also, skirt wise, midis or minis are our best friends!
I just got into Kibbe body typing a bit and found out I am a soft gamine, and now it just all makes sense. It's so weird how I've always just known that I look best in high wasted bottom pieces paired with cropped top pieces (& showing a bid of midriff which visually has the same effect as a belt), plus that I seem to pull off any type of head wear, and I just didn't know why. NOW I KNOW. Hallelujah. I love this. Life makes sense now 😂
This was one of the most awesome SG videos ever! Just so PRACTICALLY helpful and your energy is so lovely. There’s so many wedding guest dresses I would want from reformation (and other more affordable shops) but although the tailoring is good on a lot of them, I wonder if the solid colors or continuous patterns wouldn’t be enough to “shape” our body. Could you do a video showing some of your favorite dresses? Also belts help SO much but I don’t want to rely on one for a wedding/fancier events if that makes sense. Thanks for this video!
I can't do with peplums and shirring I really don't like it on myself. But, despite being the same i.d we don't all look the same , we just have a similar yin/Yang balance , so what may look good on one won't necessarily look good on another .
I always loved tops that cinched my waist, were properly fitted, showed my figure, and weren't loose and I am a hat enthusiast! Intuition really works!!!
I love this video and it was also very validating! I had always got the sense that peplum looked good on me and i always look great in hats and have always gotten compliments. Thank you for the other tips about the shirring, belts, and high waist. Never going back to low rise again lol
I recently did the test again and got soft gamine which is incredibly surprising to me! Buuut I have to admit I do love a good hat lol. I also naturally tend to break up my line a lot so I may just explore this a bit more lol
I just wanted to add, as a soft gamine with a short torso, low waisted jeans for everyone else are "right at the bellybutton jeans" for me ! Something to consider in order to avoid the "boobs on shelves" effect haha
What fantastic tips! I intuitively knew a lot of these but to hear you elucidate is wonderful❤. My all time fav is well constructed high waist slacks 😍. And my new favorite word is “gamine-y”😊
I think this is me, I’m 5’2” with angular shoulders and soft upper arms but I cannot bear things squishing my stomach or squeezing and I don’t like high necklines (makes me feel like I’m choking), wish there were comfy loose clothes for me that looked good 😢
I have just been typed as a soft gamine. The high neck lines I have always stayed aways from because of a larger chest, so I have always worn V-necks to minimize. I may try to wear a higher neck and see how I feel. Right now, I only own one and that is a dress top.
I have two types of hats: a Cloche and Newsboys caps. (Oh I used to have a Panama Hat) I need to find more hats that go with short hair. I did buy a Birdcage fascinator but I have't had an occasion to wear it to.
I just want to appreciate how you keep on going with making fashion content and I find some more of the hijab bloggies in their beiges and monotones more toxic to swallow. I appreciate how you are being yourself and provide advice that actually benefits people rather than showing off your entire life!
Hi. I wasn't sure if I wanted to watch this video. I am a Theoretical Romantic, however, sometimes I wonder if I could be Soft Gamine. I have done the Kibbe typing test 4 times and each time I think I'm Theatrical Romantic. Another u-tuber has said that Theoretical Romantics are very rare. So I thought perhaps I am a Soft Gamine. I really adore all your outfits and would wear them. I have always loved belts and hats. Aly Art has said that of all the types Theatrical Romantics and Soft Gamines can wear each other's lines without looking bad. I am wondering if maybe you are Theatrical Romantic and not Soft Gamine because I would wear your outfits. You look great in your outfits.
Hi darling! If you google Kibbe body typing, there’s loads of tests. I had myself body typed with “thealignedlover” on TH-cam… check out my other videos on this - I’ll link in the description later x
You look more like a theatrical romantic than a soft gamine to me. The proof is in the poufy blue dress and the pink one next to it that you look stunning in that would overwhlem a soft gamine. Just my 2 cents. They are very similar styles but theatrical romantics can pull off more dramatic shapes and you can. :)
Assalamualaikum amena I've been watching you for 13 years lol sounds so long. I wanted some advice on how to get in to selling hijabs. I have no idea where to go or how to go about it who to contact etc. Please could you guide me as I'm aware your journey started with just £50 and now pearl daisy Alhamdulillah.
I'm sorry, but as I'm looking at you I see more Theatrical Romantic or Flamboyant Gamine, not Soft Gamine. Some of the SG items you had, esp the first dress, looked really separate from you. I can't remember who you said typed you. If it was Merriam, she most likely got it wrong. She has a tendency to do that. She even typed herself as a SG and she is clearly not. Most likely she's a Dramatic Classic. However, not to play devil's advocate, regardless of who typed you, you might want to get a second opinion. Remember, TRs are very petite in height and bones too.
She looks like a soft gamine to me, You can't rely on small details when considering kibbie i.ds , it's the overall yin and Yang balance which is also held with more importance to the body. Many say they think I'm TR but I'm actually SG . We won't all look the same because it's not about how we look , it's not about stereotyping ,it's about the yin and Yang balance .
As someone who just figured out they're a soft gamine this video really solidified it for me. These are the exact styles I like.
I'm a soft gamine- shorter dresses with waist definition and classic t shirts always always work, no matter my weight or the fabric.
Deffo the waist definition transforms almost EVERY outfit
Me too! I can buy those items online or without trying on first, because I know they'll look nice on me 🤣✌💕
I am a gamine with Romantic essence, so they work on me too:-)

Thanks for this video!
The shirred dresses seem overwhelming for the gamine. Not because of the shirring, but the length and fullness of the skirts and sleeves.
I can't do with peplums and shirring I really don't like it on myself. But, despite being the same i.d we don't all look the same , we just have a similar yin/Yang balance , so what may look good on one won't necessarily look good on another .
She is not SG
I love your energy! This video was so helpful and explains why I love belts, dresses with defined waists, and high waisted pants, thank you! 🥰
I always loved tops that cinched my waist, were properly fitted, showed my figure, and weren't loose and I am a hat enthusiast! Intuition really works!!!
Fellow soft gamine here! Loved this video and the outfits 💖 you definitely need to make more soft gamine content 💖💖💖

Thank you I was thinking I was soft gamine too your tips confirmed my suspicions. Great advice. I like and agree with all five suggestions.
What fantastic tips! I intuitively knew a lot of these but to hear you elucidate is wonderful❤. My all time fav is well constructed high waist slacks 😍. And my new favorite word is “gamine-y”😊
I find this funny because I believe I am also a soft gamine and every one of my favorite clothing pieces fall into these categories ❤️
I think this is me, I’m 5’2” with angular shoulders and soft upper arms but I cannot bear things squishing my stomach or squeezing and I don’t like high necklines (makes me feel like I’m choking), wish there were comfy loose clothes for me that looked good 😢

Love the outfit you're wearing, super cute
Loved this video!!
Would love for some Ramadan vlogs..
You just distilled so much experience and expertise into this video! Thank you, thank you, thank you, from a fellow soft gamine 😘💗
I have two types of hats: a Cloche and Newsboys caps. (Oh I used to have a Panama Hat) I need to find more hats that go with short hair. I did buy a Birdcage fascinator but I have't had an occasion to wear it to.
You looked great in all outfits.
So helpful! Thanks love 😊💕
I'm pretty sure I'm a soft famine because I've always thought hats look AMAZING on me haha thanks for that confirmation!

She looks more Theatrical Romantic to me

Hey amena hope you’re okay Mashallah very nice blogs, may Allah always keep you blessed and happy 😄💕❤️🥰
gorgeous !
Thank you
Thanks!
10:51 I feel like hair accessories would also go in this category
Getting hats small enough is difficult for me. Have tried the children's section but not much selection.
Can you make A tutorial of soft gamine make up? Day and night?
Ramadan Mubarak ?🤔
Great video! How can i find my body type amena? 👍👍👍💜💜💜💞💞💞💞💞

@@Amenakin Heya Amena! 💞💜 Thanks for your reply. I will definitely look into it xx 💓💖
Hi amena ...where did u get the bright pink top from please 🤗🤗
Hi! Asos, all linked in description box x
Does it mean petite short hour glass?
Not quite hour glass, but yes, usually not tall (not necessarily short or petite). Check out the extra links I've added in the description box x

How about jewerly?
I think you look better with minimal detail I think you are some kind of classic the printed tops look too much on you
I'm a soft gamine but belts and hats don't look good on me is there any chance that I'm not actually a SG
You might have a natural even an ethereal essence. Or classic. Gamine alone is not enough dear. That first dress says it all.
Its been a while since the "choice" video .. 😬
🎯💖
I am a soft gamine if anyone can help me pls with kind of Indian lehenga i should wear will be helpful ❤❤❤❤I m getting married soon ❤❤❤❤
Do a under-scarf tutorial
Excellent! (It's pronounced Kib, not Kibby BTW)
Assalamualaikum amena

And a hijab tutorial

Nope, it was Nona and I fully agree with her - check out the links to my other vids on this if this is your first x
I agree, this video is almost proof that she is not SG. I don’t see any gamine at all. I see DC.
I am here 1st time and my 1st thought was .. she can't be sg ... agreed

Shes def not a SG.
So the hijab desappears...
Грудь большая. Отрез по талии не мое. Мучаюсь((...:-)
But the thing is... You're not a soft gamine lmao.
You're no SG
Agree. More like soft natural to mee
Am i tripping or are you theatrical romantic
Shearing is pronounced sheer-ing rather than cher-ring!
