Always good to have spare parts around, in my opinion. I have had issues with tires on all my mowers throughout the years. My problem is getting up once I lay on the ground, but I'm a bit older and had a lot of miles put on me, ha ha! Cub Cadets are nice and that one will be a good one, just a few little things to fix on her. Enjoyed watching, hope you have a nice day!

I liked the video! I've got a Case 222 I just swapped a set of bar ag tires onto and a Ingersoll 44inch blade on to get it ready for winter. My mowing machine is a Cub 2206. I want to sometime find a older cub and get it going and have that be my mowing machine. Keep up the great content!

Hello From Mark In Kentucky. I have 3 Cub Cadets in which I had the exact same issue with my 107 IH Cub Cadet in which had a very simple fix., The 107 Narrow Frame had threaded pre drilled holes that matched the holes that were drilled in the mule drive bracket in which the only problem was that the steering arm for the spindle hit the head of the one bolt.
I removed the washers and tightened the bolt back down which worked much better. The bolt holes in the frame were exactly the same as the older 70s and 100 Cub Cadets in which I copied from a model 72 Cub Cadet that I used to own.. My 682 & 1710 do not have the holes that I mentioned like the older narrow frame Cubs did in the frame.
I always had problems with the mule drive coming loose and the really bad issues with the drive belt going bad before I bolted the mule drive directly to the frame like on the 72 that I mentioned before.
But other than the head of the bolt rubbing the steering arm - There have been no further issues.
I am not sure if your tractor has the exact same pre drilled threaded holes like the 107 had but would definitely be worth looking into. Hope this helps you out
One important thing to keep in mind regarding the wider rear tires is that you need to pay attention to the distance between the outside of your tire sidewall and where the mower deck wheels are.
My 107 has the 23 x 8.50-12 tires in which I believe that the 23 x 10.50-12 tires will work just fine but anything larger like the 26 x 12.00-12 would be very close but would rub the mower deck wheels pretty badly. The 5 lug wheels will work as far as the bolt pattern but you have to make sure that the valve stem is on the outside and not the inside or the valve stem may hit against the disc brake calipers. My 682 has odd wheels with the valve stem pointing in and with about 6 flat washers on each wheel stud to space the wheel out away from the calipers. My John Deere 110 wheels have the valve stems that point inwards. If you have any questions regarding the Cub Cadets, Chances are that I have dealt with the same issues myself in the past.

Those are aftermarket wheel weights. There's a spring on the latch in where the mule drive slides in. It's probably broken or needs some lube on it.

I’ll check out that latch. Thanks for the info…👍

The mounting system on those Cubs is pretty good, but a bit fidgety. Darned fine machine, regardless!

The factory wheel weights for those looked different than the ones you have. Yours may have after markets maybe.
