He'll get rid of it before the warranty expires I bet. The views alone will pay for any repairs that he needs even if the warranty is voided for whatever reason. Yeah, it is smart to give us content we want to watch
After owning a 7R I would recommend a valve tronic exhaust, just to balance the noise levels when on the motor way, yet still get crazy dsg farts and burbles

A combination of 20 extra bhp and different gearing, that’s why it’s so quick
More than an extra 20 since VW markets crank hp and the dyno shows whp. Car is making 15-20% more than 340 at the crank.
@@WindyCityR im almost sure its "corrected" on that dyno, thats 340PS (335hp) crank... they say it has "20" over, as in 20PS over 320PS crank, which is whats advertised (315hp)
@@0611930024838 I haven’t seen anyone using rolling dynos display “corrected” crank numbers including the several times I’ve had my cars on them. Only corrections were atmospheric. 335 crank would still be low based on the videos posted against the 416 crank a45s.
@@WindyCityR the Europeans do crank even on a rolling dyno all the time from what I've seen, which I agree is dumb, just tell us the WHP using SAE or standard correction.

VW underquoted the old Mk 7 too. I went from a 6 to a 7 GTI, and there was no way in hell it was only 10 hp better. The bigger torque difference I totally felt, but there was a lot more top end than they were letting on. 35K miles and a couple of intake related mods later, she still spools up quickly and pulls strong!
classic shietsy VW. I have an STI and my mom has a golf r mk7 also in 6sp. even though it's rated for less torque and HP, it's always felt a bit quicker in a straight line

Just tunned my 7.5 golf R I love the night and day difference went stage 2 intagrated engineering and did the tcu tune

That is really interesting that the Golf R make so mush time on gearing and being in that sweet spot in the rev range, you really would not think it would make that mush difference, but there is a real performance gain to be hand. Cleaver Golf R

Tuner is 100% correct. Car power will definitely be faster after few 1000 miles. You will notice it Archie. Run the race again once it opens up

This man knows what he talking about and this is just cofirmation that VW doing some really god job with these new engines, lets just compare a45s engine and this one in Golf R, a45s engine 1.5k rpm down the redline making same or less power than Golf's engine, and in last 1.5k rpm it produce that 100hp extra. This just tells about how good actualy is this new engine in Golf, it can max all his power acros the all range of rpm, that is pretty amazing enginering and plus that smart move with gearing there are result why is so fast! Amazing enginering VW!!!
Well, it's down to the way ECU is programmed, not the engine. The engine makes what the ECU tells it to make. A45s is still a very fast hot hatch. And Mercedes will probably take notice of the new Golf R and will update A45s to be faster.
Just swapped my f40 35i in for a mk8 r and I'm telling you ,you can most certainly tell straight away the car has more power than quoted absolutely rapid and so much louder than the 35i, pops and bangs are ridiculous aswell absolutely love it, only down side is the price I mean 42k for a golf 😂

I said it must be the reworked gearbox but with abit more power to the wheels what a cracking hot hatch I cant wait till they can start breaking in to the software n getting file going to tune these cars

VW's power rating was to the crank and not to the wheel I believe, so you lot made even more power to the wheel, nice.

Heard dms dyno gives false readings....apparently they don't strap the cars down properly. Not bad mouthing them but that's the word on the street
But all the reviewers are saying the same thing... No-one believed the VW power figures.

Yeh DMS don’t have a good rep at all for dyno readings, u ever put a RWD car on there dyno you will make about 50 more BHP 😂
On another dyno it did 309whp though... Which is about 340hp.
The red flag for me was when he equated boost pressure to power

and now go on dyno with amg 35&45 and with bmw 135i and you will get more hp over paper specs too with them

Some cucumbers are going to say "that's how you keep the cost down!". Bruh it would cost them like £10 at most for hydraulic struts. You wouldn't even notice the difference if they passed on the cost to the customers
is the front blue strip on every golf 8 r or only if you dont get the black style package?

With black styling pack it deletes the blue stripe but not the light bar. I have it ordered with black pack so am sure of this

@@johanvanderpulst5250 mine is also coming in July. The blue stripe across grill and through headlights will all be black and the mirror caps are black. I think the r badge on front is less silver too. There are a few videos on TH-cam showing it on all colour cars and looks way better. My car is black with black estoril wheels and performance pack etc

I think you should get the Akrapovic exhaust and who ever makes a downpipe, (you could have one crafted and just add a GESI cat) and you should be set. If you want to be first find some people fabricate!

Whats the deal with mapping cars that are on finance (assuming this is)? Is the idea to just not say anything and undo everything when you sell the car or give it back? Wouldn't this also void any manufacturer warranty and thus breach the finance T&C's?

Its making max power for 1000rpm! Did the last one do that? I know in the gtI's they fell off a cliff after 5500 ish.
Thats a huge part. You're making max power for half of each gear. Other cars may more more peak power, but energy delivered won't be as much.
After seeing a bunch of dyno runs in the UK on youtube, is it normal for you to show estimated crank hp vs showing what it makes at the wheels?
In the US no one runs dynos at estimated crank, its all wheel hp. It doesn't really matter as dyno's are more to show gains. Good to see these cars are making more than promised. I'm curious if they will make rated on crappy CA gas. German companies tend to present numbers that are worst case.
