Very useful glimpse into how Tesla works, and how we should work. Joe Justice: “I believe happiness is trying to figure out what our inner values are - the best we know them now - and trying to live those. And I think that's all that's required to be happy. And I actually think that's helpful when we talk about Tesla, because Tesla is so intense that if your inner values are in conflict with what the company's doing you'll burn out in a week or faster. But if the company values mimic your inner values it's actually an extremely invigorating and restful place to work.”

Hi Joe, thank you for the very informative interview! I'm working on my last paper in my MBA program and couldn't seem to find any information regarding Tesla's organizational structure until now. Would you be able to shed any light on Tesla's control systems? More specifically, are employees "controlled" by management oversight, organizational rules, output goals, an internal market for needed capital, or performance incentives? Any insight would be very much appreciated!

43:20 that was funny how calm you are in such a situation, Joe. 💪

“SpaceX has launched 20 Starships in the last 2 years while Ariane are still in discussion.” That is a prime example of the value of agility and speed. Makes it sound like SpaceX are *doing* while Ariane are talking. Speed is very underrated.
