- Learn how many of the most successful companies are implementing an agile mindset and framework and achieving excellent results. For companies that are exploring agile, beginning their transformation, and for those that are agile native, see how this approach can outperform other management and employee engagement strategies. How is it that this method includes more employee engagement and play while delivering significantly higher productivity? Through several examples, see and consider how people and management are embracing, resisting, and implementing the culture side of change towards agile. This video interview was hosted by Phil Klein and held on August 12, 2020. Joe Justice works globally with agile organizations, bringing multinational companies twice the work in half the time. His teams have held 4 world records. He works with Tesla, autonomous and smart road technologies, ultra-lightweight structures, guest lectured at UC Berkeley, MIT, on behalf of Carnegie Melon, CU Denver, The University of Washington, spoken at Google, Microsoft, and others. Joe's work has been featured in Forbes, Harvard Business Review, CNN Money, the Discovery Channel, and others has been a guest lecturer at MIT and Oxford University. Joe tests management strategies, autonomous technologies, and production techniques in his own hobby company first. He serves as CEO of the prototyping and automotive manufacturing company, WIKISPEED Inc., with activities in 23 countries. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
10:27 "A lot of people want to make an impact in a company and the real crux of this seems to be how beaten down have they been until they've disengaged."
You absolutely nailed it. I find those same people who are willing to embrace change can be beaten down yet again during an agile transformation when Management are the ones failing to support the culture shift.
Management... or sales... or the customers. "We want features ABC by date X". Well, since we're agi- "Can you give us features ABC by date X or not?" The thing is, that in ag- "Well we've already promised the customer features ABC by date X, so deliver that or you're fired. Have your two-weekly sprint planning meetings if it makes you feel better, but you need to deliver features ABC by date X. Off you go".
I'm beginning to use the analogy of when my parents forced me to play the piano when I was a kid. I didn't want to play the piano. I took lessons for years. Got pretty good but not great even though it took longer to get to that stage than it should have. Today I can't play anything. The moral is I am not convinced a waterfall company can become Agile. If the company leader was truly Agile minded in the first place, likely they would not be at that company anyway. Most of my leaders over my career talk Agile, but don't really know what it means nor do they apply to themselves. So those companies will never learn how to play the piano.
Thank you so much for talking about this succesful project of helping companies. Cheers from the top of the mountain.

Interesting. I just wish this "Agile and Lean" model didn't underpay their workers greatly.
I wish Amazon didn't underpay their workers greatly too.

Interesting, it's been over 15 months and we still haven't had an agile title change ... yet....
Agile is such a buzzword. My understanding is it means to let team members make improvements without asking the boss if its ok every time.
Internet is such a buzzword. My understanding is it means people using screens connected together instead of fax machines.
@@calysagora3615 fair enough
So their willing to sell out their innovation for $$? Title change.. is that everyone's motivation. I though Agill was about engaging employees for productivity. Polarity. Nonsense
