Just like with the Republican side with Trump light candidates, Phillips is being presented as "I am Biden, but without the age problem". I am not sure how well that will play out. Nobody here is really excited about Phillips. Relying on present day polling metrics is incredibly illogical.
I'd say Biden was elected precisely because he wasn't exciting, people had enough excitement in the previous term. @@alex99398 I am not a Democrat or a liberal, but I do think Biden has done a pretty good job, considering the environment we currently are in. There is a large portion of our population who seem to be blaming Biden for GOP's inept/obstruction/vapidness and the conflicts overseas. Many of his policies saved us from another Great Depression and an escalation of the Covid pandemic. Biden is running for re-election because presidents early lose re-election unless the economy is under water.

I'm still voting for Biden but I have respect for the man. While he has my vote, Biden needs to show us in this campaign that he has a succession plan. Not just in the party but for the country.
