Okay, he is blazing fast like a lot of other drummers nowadays. But what makes him really special imo is the creativity in his playing. It never gets boring.

You were already one of the cleanest, most-creative, able-to-play-at-any-tempo drummer out there, but that last year, you managed to elevate perfection to a whole new level, it's above perection and it's a new standard now. Absolutely insane.
Kevins playng just fit the music perfectly.. He isn't overplaying fills but when the time is right, He just lay down some amazing stuff 👌🏻 Just perfect..
his gravity blast on the snare in the beginning is pretty amazing. The drummer for ULCERATE is the most creative of these amazing metal drummers ive seen up close. I'm sure some kid in Micronesia is better then everyone & nobody knows his name.
One of the true masters of the art of metal drumming. And Obscene Repressed is yet another strong Benighted album. Was spinning it and this showed up in my recommended feed right afterward. I guess I've been playing it a lot lately.

Hey Kevin, i've always been curious about your (left) hand technique for blasts. I watched the video you did with Marthyn, but you did not specifically talk about how you use the push/pull technique when you play. I tried to learn it in the past, but it didnt click with me, so Im sure many of us would like to see something like that if it's a video you would be willing to make! Thanks for all the inspiring videos.

His blast on the snare had me confused for a second. So is he basically hitting it on the down and up swing? It that why his hand looks like it's doing half the work rather than what you usually see?
Pretty much. With push pull technique you're kind of throwing the stick down (or 'pushing') and loosening your grip a bit so the tip of the stick can rebound, then bringing your hand back up ('pulling') and tightening your grip to bring the tip back down again. It's tough to get it down fast but once you do it's a really fluid motion that doesn't strain your hands nearly as much as trying to muscle it out.

Absolutely phenomenal drumming all-around. The only thing that always perplexes me about this drumming (and other drummers) is at 0:49 where that thrash beat comes in. Why is it that drummers who can play mega fast blasts, such as this guy, don't want to double-up the hi-hat on this bit? It sounds way more intense when the hi-hat is doubled to every beat. This isn't to discredit this drummer because he is extremely good, but it just always bugs me when a thrash beat is done half-heartedly when the drummer is perfectly capable of keeping that sort of speed going on the right hand.
He actually does - check 1:15 out, he's doing 8ths on the hats.
Is it the camera angle? Or he is sitting not so high? Just like he is close to 90 degrees at the back and 90 degrees at the knees?
He may be the best death metal drummer now.
No computer, just a real drummer.
