Fun fact:
When Mobius D stabbed Guernica Vandham in the beginning of the game, it was clean through his chest, not his human heart, thus he survived for quite a while.
In this chapter, Mobius D learned from his mistake, and shot Nia "directly through the heart" as Taion said.. but Nia's core crystal is in the center of her chest!
Aka, Mobius Doofus failed successfully TWICE in a row! xD
to be somewhat fair i think all blade like agnus soldiers are part human so heart stabs will kill them, hes prebably never enountered a true blade before and didnt realize they are much more resilient
@@brandonwithnell612 Makes sense. They all seem to be offspring of blade eaters or flesh eaters, or otherwise human-blade hybrids. Regardless, the blades and humans of Alrest share a genetic origin from the titans. So they are both already serve as counterpart to the races of the Bionis and Mechonis; being "analogs" of humanity.

In response to your point about around 50:30 about N's intentions, i think there's a massive point here nearly everybody skips over when considering this (admittedly i did too before i really thought about it): The impossible choice didn't just stop at "Mio vs their descendants." If he chose to sacrifice Mio and save their descendants, then he's tossed right back into the cycle to continue repeating more instances of watching her die first, of their constant trials only to be met with failure. By the time N attacked the City, several generations had already passed, and if this offer was given to him each and every time, there was about 5-7 cycles where he did choose to spare the descendants. Each time he is brought back to the stage, the memories of his failures compounded. Eventually, he was going to break. Eventually, he was gonna choose the other option in hopes that something might change. It wasn't that he didn't think about Mio's feelings, it's that eventually he just...broke, because Z didn't just give him a tempting offer, he tortured him for his own amusement.
What Mio didn't understand, *could* never understand, was the feeling of always being the one left behind.
I just want to appreciate how incredible the writing of this game is. Remember the scene in the forest, where Riku initiates the discussion about "supervillainpon" and suicide as the logical extreme of denying one's own right to survive. Then at the start and the end of Chapter 6, we get the suicide of two villain characters that play out very differently because of their different understandings of self-worth. Going back to that scene in the forest. Noah concludes the conversation by saying "we look at the moon, so it becomes meaningful." Then we get the Chapter 5 jail sequence that ends on a moonless night. There are many other subtle connections, but these are some that I noticed upon watching others play through the game.

Sure, she may have been shot through the heart, but she's the strongest healing blade ever and her core crystal's untouched. Of course she's fine.
Yep, so long as their core is undamaged, a Blade will heal from most anything. Nia just does it faster because of her healing abilities.
@@AstralMuffin105 In addition Nia is a pure Alrestian blade ..... most agnus blades are kinda mixed blood and or tampered by Z
There's so many good moments in this game but hearing "Nia, Towards the Heavens" (Drifting Souls) again, I was just in such a happy place.
Thankfully because Nia is a full blade her actual heart is her core crystal, D didn't know this and shot her where he thought a human heart would be, but actually missed her core crystal, by two certris, no less.
Yeah, the writing here is great, to the XC3 cast it's juat the Queen is magically awesome, but to XC2 players we know that's how blades (and flesheaters) work. The subtle and not-so-subtle lore in these games is absolutely wild
That, and even as Blades go, she has super healing due to her cellular manipulation.
The end of Ch 5 and beginning of 6 was definitely a 3am I need answers NOW moment for me TT_TT
It was 5 AM for me... After I got to the city and got told about the plan to get to the Queen of Agnus at like midnight I decided to keep going until I got to her since it sounded like that wasn't far away... I ended up going to bed at like 6:30 when Noah decided to go to Colony Omega first.
I really do like when Manana just silently turns around and resumes cooking when she finds out the hair issue is not serious.
It's really in-character for Nia to wake up from a decades-long nap and immediately get [redacted].

Honestly, Nia introducing herself to the party is such a great moment to cap off the chapter. It's a totally different emotional mic drop than N's sword coming down at the end of Chapter 5 but they both stick in my head as 2 of the top 5 chapter endings in the whole series.
The specific scene I cried the most in was the thumbnail oh my god AAAAAAAHHHH
IMO ... this N is by far the best written Villain in all of gaming or even in all media. And for his completely understandable and relatable obsession over his wife he became the most cruel Villian too. Trading off the Life of his own Son and his Family and Friends and other Descendants (the old city folk) for the life of his Wife. But completely ignoring her feelings and wishes ... this is just absolutely insane. The Voice Actor is absolutely fantastic., breathing life into this role. Simply Amazing.
I can't believe that after 2 hours of pure suffering they put us through, the first line of levity is, "Ahoy! Ya dags. Guess who's back, bitches?"
Time for less pain than last time 😊
This game is absolute art. And somehow it just keeps getting better at every chapter

I chose long hair Mio because no one had very long hair in the main team but i wish they gave us hair down Noah as an option. Also the N and M body suits
