I'm gonna be honest here: I didn't think your kitchen could possibly be more beautiful as it already was. In fact,the first video of your channel I watched was the one were you gave us a tour of your new house. And I sooo loved your kitchen. Even showed it to my hubby. He loves old country kitchens.(He was like yep, that's THE kitchen,when can we move in?)
So when you said you were starting to renovate it I was like: NOOOO!😱😱 ( same with the dresser make over. My heart dropped. Really, it did.)
Told my husband about your renovating plans. " Wait,what?! Are they nuts? You're kidding me right?" Ehm, Nope. "Oh good Lord, why?"
But.... you were right. Both on the kitchen ánd the dresser. They are so much better now. What a labour of love this has been. Thank you for sharing this journey with us.

I feel like I’ve waited such a long time for this and it must have felt like an age for you and Alex 😩 But boy oh boy has it been worth the wait Madeleine. You had this incredible dream for this kitchen and it’s the most beautiful kitchen I’ve seen. From the windows to the worktops to the new fireplace to the cupboards and to the floors you have done the most incredible job and should be very proud of all your hard work. It’s absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait to watch you cooking those lovely recipes of yours in this beautiful kitchen for us as we’ve missed them so much. I couldn't help and feel emotional. It's like witnessing the evolution and growth of a home of a loved one. We all felt part of this process, at least I felt. Loved the end result. Just whish you all the best.
Old wood “amberizes” (yes, that what flooring specialists call it), getting that warm tone over the decades. Personally, I think it’s beautiful. I installed new oak floors in my Victorian house, which never had any finish flooring, just a much too-rough fir plank base, and I matched the color of the stain of the flooring to look like this old, amberized fir underneath. My new floor looks like original flooring, with its aged color and I think it’s perfect.
Wonderful to see the brighter look. You have blended classic with functional modern-great job- it’s lovely.
Even before you renovated it, the kitchen was quaint and great. The cream white is okay but I wish you had painted the walls a nice bright color, like a lavender or something. I love old fashioned colorful kitchens with flowers in the window and colorful fruits and utensils. You did a great job.

Lovely kitchen, sweet couple and an adorable dog...oh cute cat, too! You are blessed! Hard, hard work and a brilliant job! So worth it all in the end (I know exactly how daunting it can feel in the middle). I can imagine how gorgeous it must have been at Christmas and how much you must have enjoyed cooking there!

I just discovered your channel today and have been loving watching all your renovation videos! I feel like you're me in a couple of years time which is surreal to watch - my boyfriend and I moved to Brighton last year and we're trying/struggling to buy our first home to do up. I'm working on convincing him to move to Cornwall with me because my family's down there (mum near Truro, brother in Newquay) and I'd love to find a period property with more room to grow. Madeleine, it is so warm and cozy and beauuuuuutiful. It's only missing one thing.....a chaise lounge! Maybe close to the fireplace so I can lounge & relax and drift off to sleep while you cook for me. LOL!! I would honestly want to hang out in there all the time. It is absolutely idyllic. I have been here for every video and watched it all happen, but I still don't think I realized how perfect it was going to turn out. You worked so hard and it was so worth it. WELL DONE!!

It turned out gorgeous, I just watched your living room makeover , watching backwards with regards to the order of your renovations , your cottage is one that I have always dreamed of having someday you and your husband have done a beautiful job. Love your style.❤️❤️❤️
We went through a kitchen reno with kids and it almost killed me!! I get overwhelmed just thinking about it. LOL. We had custom cabinets made and installed but they took forever and we had to break up the flooring and have new tiles laid, we had a load-bearing wall removed and it was just messy, dusty and took much longer than anticipated. Being displaced out of your kitchen is a huge deal. My whole main floor was wrapped in plastic to keep dust away. Ugh, I will never do that again. But on a happy note, the kitchen is now done and it's absolutely gorgeous. We are currently working on other projects in the house but none have been quite as overwhelming as the kitchen was.
