My experience with Corolla Hybrid LE: 52-62 mpg. Yesterday: 58. I accelerate smoothly, and basically glide thru traffic (kida like TSLA FSD videos). I generally exceed the speed limit, but do not rush to get to top speed. I really like the car. My other car is a V6 Highlander. Different driving experience.
@@BernonCars Ey I would prefer a Yaris with a 1.5L 3-cylinder and manual over this. Although I would prefer a Corolla with the 2.0L and manual over all of them.😂 Sadly Toyota doesn't seem to make that combination anymore, which sucks. In Japan the Corolla hatch called "Corolla Sport" only has the CVT while the Yaris has the 1.5L with CVT, with a 6-speed manual or even AWD with thr CVT.
If the hatchback was anywhere near as practical as the last Matrix, people would consider it. If you want a more practical Corolla, your only option (in North America) is the Corolla Cross.
Thanks for the great review. Could you explain where you came up with the 2024 Corolla or hybrid having a length of 169 inches? 3 inches shorter than the Hatchback. 5:15 5 in the video. Toyota specs on their corporate site show the 2024 Corolla hybrid as 182.5 inches overall length and the hatchback as 172 inches. I would love it if the Corolla was shorter than the Hatchback,as I need a shorter car for parking. What is up?? 😢
I've accepted and liked driving cars slower than this, but I just can't make myself to like a modern day Corolla with the way it grunts like a zombie on high revs 😭

It's really fascinating MPG's! Glad you have the Highlander for some proper power haha
Top notch review and video! Good job Bern
Thank you very much!
Great review Bern. Now we need to see the civic hybrid when available.
Thank you! Yeah I can't wait to test that out!
With the fuel economy of the base corolla, it's hard to make back the hybrid premium. You really need to slum it in this car for a really long time
Yeah it doesn't seem worth it.
Yeahh I would prefer a Prius myself. This is painfully slow lol

@@BernonCars aren't u always driving painfully slow cars? :D #4runner #accord #camry
$30k is a great deal for commuter car... I would lean towards the Prius if I was in the market
I totally agree!
Camry LE.

I agree! Yeah the Corolla Cross Hybrid is the next best thing

Thank you! Dang, I misread that number! I apologize! Yeah its 182!
I love the hybrids but I don't need a sedan.
If only we got a hybrid hatch here!
Yes that will be the GR Corolla, hybrid commuter and race car!
I'm waiting to see how the 2026(?) new production model Honda Prelude hybrid shapes up, as well as the new forthcoming Mazda hybrids.
Me too! I'm excited to see what that turns into

Yeahh this is soooooo dreadful 💀
If that's so give the new Civic Hybrid a try, it doesn't have a conventional transmission but it's supposed to mimic one. More power/torque too.
Nissan did make a hybrid Altima mid 2000s find one & review it:)
One day hopefully I will find it!
29k for a 138hp hybrid? I'd get the base 2024 Prius instead
Yeah Prius is a muuch better deal
