On all my trailers I swap the 12v power and the brake power wires on my truck and trailer pig tails. That way if someone tries to hook up the trailer and take it the brakes are locked up, along with two different locks on the tongue and chain through both tires
Yea it’s a trick I learned from my father, he has done that for years on his travel trailers and car trailers. Since he owns a used car dealership, he also usually blocks the trailer in with a lot car.
Invest in a good camera system that sends a notification if anyone on your lot, through an app, and you can see it live wherever you are, then you can call police as it happens
Whenever you get a new trailer I would recommend parking it behind the shop. It will help keep it out of sight of people driving by. It looks like a busy road so you won’t notice if someone is casing the shop.
I agree, DON"T SELL THE CHEVY!! That tool will make you soooo much money!! Just rent a car trailer from Uhaul for $55/day or many local yards have them available for slightly more. Also contact the Builder of the trailer to see if they put a second "hidden" vin somewhere on the unit. My son in Ca. had his new $5k dump trailer stolen from a jobsite, about 45 days later, the man who bought it from the theives was trying to register and tag it but needed a CHP vin check (because it was less than 10 years old). They called the company that built it and discovered they had 2 vin locations. After finding the second (un-altered vin), the data search revealed the true owner and the incident report on file. Since it had been reported stolen, it was seized immediately and returned to my son. ........ WARNING...... if you think you are getting a good deal on an unregistered and un-tagged trailer like Randy's, you will eventually get caught and lose both your money and the trailer. Randy, we all feel your frustration because it has probably happened to us in the past, and we will be praying that justice prevails. LB
Redneck engineer1 I agree, don’t just sell the Chevy that you know is reliable and that you just put new tires on and bought all the parts for. Then they’re costing you another $1100-$1200.

Dam Randy, sorry to hear about that trailer. I had a bad feeling that was going to happen when i seen where you had that thing parked in the last video ... keep up the good work ..
Who ever stole it they most likely watch the video where Randy had to cut his own lock off that trailer the other day and they saw how easy it was and they came back and done it their self
running boards. it would be in the way. but i agree. if they did the running boards first then they could just lift it. but if you think about it, they need to be able to adjust the steering wheel with the pitman arm, and need it low to access the cab.
I did also. Next time I will warn Randy, enough warnings from us may help him. Sorry for his loss, it really hurts when you lose something and don't know where you can get the money to replace it.
Randy , I did repossessions for a few years . It doesn’t matter what you do ( locks , wheels off , block in , etc ) if they want your trailer or vehicle they will get it . Park your new one inside with the alarm on. Best of luck to you my friend .
I had a trailer with a ball lock and you can hit it decide where I kind of rackets into the lock with a hammer real hard and it will come undone that's how they did it
Hopefully you can use aircraft cable to lock the wheels next time, we have a major theft issue in my area of Kansas and people are going for the $30 option instead of the $200 boot lol you run the cable thru the rims and around the leaf springs so they can’t just take the wheels off and put theirs on. Hopefully you have some better luck tho
One thing I think is really good that we have at our house is the Ring doorbell products. Great because it loads to the cloud so even if they mess with your recorder the info is on the cloud. So I hope you can get wi-fi there and the zoom for replay is great. They sell flood lights that work the same way.
Have a reputable firm fit a tracker system or datatag into trailer box channeling, it ain't cheap but it's cheaper than buying a trailer every few months and find rate is better than its ever been. Hitch locks and wheel clamps won't stop a thief with a battery grinder. Good luck (S.WALES.UK)

I took a 8" X 18" 1/2" steel plate, welded on a large "D-ring" and bolted it down to the drive way with 12, 1/2" concrete bolts all drilled at slightly different angles and drove them in. Weld the mount nuts. This allows me to use a 1/2" schedule 10 chain and lock system to secure anything I might park in the driveway.
Rebuilding a '73 Corvette I ran into the same problem with the steering wheel centering with a new steering gear and pitman arm. I ended up centering the wheel with slight tie rod adjustment. The alignment shop said I got it pretty close to centered. They fine tuned the alignment for me.
If the steering is not centered, that can be fixed by adjusting the toe in. Very easy for any good alignment shop to do. You can also do it yourself if the car is tracking straight, measure the toe in at the front & back of tire first, then lock the steering dead straight and adjust the tie rod ends a tiny amount.
Hi Randy and Tim, it´s very bad what they did with your trailer, the running boards are great they look good and that truck needed those, hope the police or the trailer appear, wish all the best.
So sorry to hear about the trailer Randy, what goes around comes back around, and I hope they get whats coming to them. The alignment shop should have been able to adjust the tie rods to straighten that steering wheel.
I can not stand thieves. I remembered When I got my landscaping Trailer Broken into and they stole 950 dollar worth of equipment. Hopefully you have something on that trailer that is easily Identifiable. I feel your pain brother.
When you get another trailer. Chain it to a power pole or something that won't move. I've seen some like that around here. It'll make them work harder. Plus put other locks on it. Hopefully you get it back soon. Keep up with these great videos. Praying for a better out come for you n your business.
Add good security cameras with video recording capability. Also some very good lighting, alarm system. Maybe install a good security fence. You do not want stuff out in the open for people to see it. Perhaps a couple of big guard dogs. And if you live near or at the work /storage area, get insurance by Smith & Wesson
Steering wheel being off a tad doesn't necessarily require a pitman arm adjustment. Hard to put those on wrong. Instead, adjust tie rod adjusters equally to get steering wheel alignment where it needs to be.
Sad that the trailer was stolen! But don't let that discourage you. You live and you learn! Hopefully it's recovered. Definitely put up some security cameras on that property.
What a shame that your trailer is stolen I don’t think any lock 🔒 for your trailer is good enough! I always park my trailer inside or park it between the house and an car! But the I enjoyed the video as always Randy and Tim!

The people might come back and try and steal other thing like those cars and might break into the shop. I pray for you and I hope you see my comment.🙏👀😟. Honestly I think they lifted it up and put it in an even bigger trailer. There were no drag Mark's as the rim was completely shot after driving it 5 miles on gravel.
part of the problem with trailers in Oklahoma is. you don't have to register or tag a trailer in the state if it's not used commercially. so who ever stole it may never be caught even if they are pulled over. i would install a GPS tracker on the next trailer. they are not expensive compared to the cost of the trailer. some are battery powered so they can be tracked even if they don't power up the lights. it still transmits a signal and location update.
Same thing happened to my neighbor's trailer. He had the ball lock and we could see, by the drag marks on the dirt road, they just drug it off. He bought a new one and I suggested hiding a GPS tracker on it along with securing it alot more. Hope you get it back and the low lifes that stole it get caught.

I'm so sorry that your trailer got stolen. Mine got stolen the same way. The police told me that those Ball locks are a waste of money. They are a minor inconvenience to thieves.
You need to take a few and fix your gates to the fence and park anything you're leaving there overnight inside the closed fence. Even vehicles, because people will steal the tires and anything else they can get off of them, but for some reason when things are in a fence people tend to not mess with them as much. And if you were to get insurance on the place, most companies won't cover anything unless it's in a fenced in area.
I'm so sorry that happened to you Randy n I hope everything gets better for you, hope you feel better soon and get ur sprites back up. who ever took it won't have any good luck with it, if you can put the cars in the fenced in area, n put a gate up in the yard next to the shop, n great video n job on everything hope here from you soon god bless to u and tim

You need a truck keep the Chevy, sorry about the trailer but... life goes on!!! Keep on going, keep up the good videos, here's an idea , how deep is that want a be office? you could turn that into a portable paint booth for your outback
Go look for it! When people steal vehicles, trailers etc they sometimes leave them nearby to see if there's a tracker on them. Go looking you may find it
Matthew Anderson Exactly what I’m thinking... I don’t know how far it’s off, but that will fix most. Start with steering wheel straight and locked down, adjust both tie rods to straighten wheels. As long as you have enough adjustment you will be good to go. So many techs don’t lock steering wheels down, and this happens.
Detroit axel does make a good product, Ive had good experience with complete struts on several cars.... rack and pinion from them did leak after 6 months so maybe stay away from that

Great video man! I really enjoyed watching it! Im sorry for your trailer.. I hope you get it back man.. It sucks but its not the end of the world. You are just beginning man. Your TH-cam channel will grow much more in the future so maybe its not that big of a loss. Keep up the great work brother👊🏽👊🏽🔥
All love man.. I appreciate & respect what you do! I hope that God will make you able to make up for the loss if you couldn't get your trailer back.. Love from Free Syria
Now, talking about the boot that covers the lugs, and also tightens on rim,and if they try to roll ,wheel puncher and locked up.
Sorry to hear about the trailer, hang in there man.
It's not the pitman arm. It's keyed. Set your seeing wheel straight. Scribe the tires and set the toe with tape ruler. Adjust with rt toe rod end. It's probably the end that is off
Randy You've made me aware to secure my trailer better. I'm truly sorry about your trailer. Hopefully now that the police have the vin # maybe you'll get it back. Keep your head up. we're all behind you.
Sorry for your lost, like my Mom says we live we learn. Good luck finding it✌🏽
HIS TRAILER WAS FOUND ABOUT AN HOUR AGO! I hope it's in the same condition as when it left randy!
Infuse Source?
you have any link of info?
@@alanlozano6535 There was a facebook fundraiser made by one of his friends and his wife for the trailer, the fundraiser was closed and you can see on the page that it was closed because they said it was recovered, towards the bottom. facebook.com/donate/717294728667707/

Tie rods.. Adjust them.put the pitmanarm in position.fine adjustments are made with the tie rods
Auto Auction Rebuilds I don’t Know what is going on in Oklahoma I park my semi truck in a private property and they all ready tried to break in the property lucky not my truck but I hope you cheer up and Oklahoma gets it together in security terms and keep posting good videos✌️
Go looking you may find it
Just need to adjust the tie rods one in one out for the steering wheel
Matthew Anderson Exactly what I’m thinking... I don’t know how far it’s off, but that will fix most. Start with steering wheel straight and locked down, adjust both tie rods to straighten wheels. As long as you have enough adjustment you will be good to go. So many techs don’t lock steering wheels down, and this happens.
Detroit axel does make a good product, Ive had good experience with complete struts on several cars.... rack and pinion from them did leak after 6 months so maybe stay away from that
use a wheel lock what locks on the leaf spring. amazon they run about $150 for chain and lock best you can get
Well, he bought it sight unseen because, like the rest of us, he's been following you and saw how hard you've worked on that truck to get it running the way it is right now. And following you from your Uberman days until now, we all can see that you are someone who is upfront and honest in your dealings with other people.
That’s going to be a nice rust free F-150 for Michigan. Most trucks that old in Michigan are full of rust by now.
For added leverage on the pittman arm: you can link box end and open end wrenches together to double your leverage.

the nuts for the running boards with the "plastic inner thingys" are nylon lock nuts lol great channel
15 minutes could have saved you 15%
So sorry Randy. That sucks! It always happens to good people too. Get some cameras setup there at your shop.
Don’t sell the Chevy, you can always rent a trailer and you’ll want the truck still for when you get back on your feet. We’ve got our fingers crossed they catch the prick that did this to you
Randy sort the steering by taking the steering wheel off and turn it and put it back on
You are doing a great job. Love your chanel.
Freaking hate thieves!!! That's too bad man. Sad when people have no respect with hard work.
Hope you put the next one in a safe place. Unreal!!
