I have a 2020 Ram,when it had around 25,000 miles it had a bad tick. Took it to the dealer and it was both sides of the exhaust manifold was cracked. Dealer said at some time about all of them will crack and it creates a bad ticking. They warrantied the manifolds and it fixed the ticking. I now have 44,000 miles and it’s still doing good.
The fix for the chevy is a little shut off box that plugs in where u plug scanner. It will keep it at 8 cylinders and saves the cam and lifters. Believe it or not most of my customers say it gets better gas mileage with it than with cylinders shut off.
Doesn't matter if you can get the tick to stop by building oil pressure, the damage is already done. Who knows how much metal has been worm from the cam and lifter, and where that metal went before getting picked up in the filter.

I once owed a 2002 Toyota MR2 here in South Africa. This side of the world they came with a 1.8VVTi engine and only available in manual. Great handling car mixed with Toyota reliability and cheap on engine and transmission parts but you will pay heavy for any body parts and the insurance is quickly willing to right it off rather than import replacement body parts. As long as you are below average height (like me) you will enjoy it.

Hello Randy. The 2017 Nissan Titan is a good looking truck even though it's got hail damage. The 2020 Ram 1500 is a good looking truck even though it's got hail damage and a little dent on the passenger side rear door.
The majority of the time you cover hail damage vehicles its so hard to see the damage all i can think is I'd buy those cars/trucks any day. If they run well then to hell with the cosmetic issues.
I’ve always been a Chevy lover until Gm refused to fix their “Shift To Park” problem. We’ve been wanting a truck and Dodge Ram was my first choice. My father even owned a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 and we’ve never had a problem with it. Hauled horse trailers with it.
Problem I have with storm damage is the Transport Department won't let you register it until it's fixed if sold as a repairable write-off. Looked at one when buying a new car. Car yard had brand new cars that got hit with hail. They weren't reported to insurance but the issue they were interstate. So it would have to go over the pits for Queensland and they might not pass it. Not going to waste $15k for something that might have to go to the wreckers and only get $4k back.
What I'm hearing isnt a lifter Tick but An Exhaust leak as they sound very similar . Those HemI's are known to have bad gaskets on the exhaust manifolds and get bad Doughnut Rings on the exhaust manifold & pipe flanges. They're also known for the exhaust manifold bolts breaking causing the above mentioned exhaust leaks. I'd check Exhaust manifolds and flanges for leaks as said it'll sound like a lifter tapping , another thing that resembles a lifter tic is spark knock/jumping to ground like from coil/plug wires to ground and it'll make it miss fire to an extent. check the easy - cheap first then step it up to another level if needed. these are also known to have soft cams in them just like the pentastar V6's in minivans . soft as in made with soft steel from the factory.
Europe and Asia have already crossed over 2 vehicles that burn Less gas 25:52 for years. I found a crew cab, a 1969 crew cab from Toyota in Germany. I've also found one and Antigua there. A RAM pickup that has problems. That's a real surprise. After buying a new 2012, 2013, and 2014 Limited 4x4 with the Cummins that were absolute garbage, I thought maybe they had upped their quality but they haven't... I remember seeing two recalls probably two years ago for the wiper arms flying off, and tailgates falling off too on the RAM pickups... Obviously I tried several times because I like the looks of the RAM pickups, and the Cummins is the best diesel engine there is period !!! Unfortunately RAM took a great engine and everything they attached to it was garbage. This isn't just my opinion, it's well documented, AND I was even told that by a RAM zone rep that they flew out to my local dealership after they had my 2013 for 6 months and couldn't fix it. It only had 800 miles on it...

It was very cut and dry, especially since I had the video to prove it. Also the engine air filter. It was very obvious that it was the original engine air filter, which they also charged me for and didn’t replace.
I have had the same problem at dealers. I actually take and number my tires to make sure that they are going to do the rotation. I catch them all the time. They'll say they did it and they don't and charge me for it. I also spray paint my oil filter with a little. So I know that the oil filter has been changed.
