- Today I'm attempting to beat Batman Arkham City, but without ever pressing the B button on my controller.
Batman Arkham City has always been one of my favorite games, and I always have fun doing random Arkham challenges. The B button impacts the Batman Arkham games A LOT more than you might think, so I decided to attempt an Arkham City challenge that restricted the button entirely. In order to be a successful challenge, I have to make it through the entire main storyline of Batman Arkham City without ever using B a single time. Is it possible? Let's find out...

Well, um... I guess you can just use the back button to exit out of the batcomputer screen instead of pressing B... Yes, I feel really stupid right now. So essentially, the final problem i faced with the map is nothing but a simple fix where all you have to do is use the back button, which means you CAN beat Arkham City without ever pressing B. With this knowledge i also wouldn't have had to make this a no upgrades run too, but I'm honestly kinda glad I did because it made the challenge a lot more fun and added to the difficulty
To be fair I've played through city like 10 times at this point and never knew you can use the back button to exit until now lmao. Still a really great video! Can't wait for more
Yes you could either press the button to open the bat computer when your in the bat computer or open the menu and push resume

As my knowledge you can exit the upgrade chart by just pressing the same button(button you press to access the map and upgrade chart
In my first proper play through a couple years ago, I didn’t realise there were different pages for the upgrades so I went through the entirety of city on hard mode with only armour. I thought that was the hardest thing one could do until I watched this 😅

How do you ground takedown cancel mid combat? And is it the same for Arkham Knight?

You actually can beat it without using B. When you get forced in the map when you talk to people just press the map button it will exit you out again. Thsi works on PlayStation so idk but when I pressed level up I could just back out without pressing b

I'm pretty sure that the button you use to level up can close then map but I'm not sure
i would go insane seeing the ‘LEVEL UP’ at the top for hours

Damn I guess I've been doing this challenge pretty much the entire time I've been playing the series with only a few exceptions. I've probably only cape stunned less than five times in total and I've definitely used B to navigate menus/ skip cutscenes although I've never used any combos or quick fires using B.

I've beaten Arkham Knight without upgrades. I think next I'll try it with Origins, City, and Asylum to see how things turn out!

Did that challenge years ago. Playing on a Playstation made it alot easier.

When I first played arkham asylum I upgraded that one thing in the first titan fight and then never did again and in arkham city I didn't even know that you could do it until a year or 2 later
In fact you can in the armored edition for the wii u ,because the map just appears in the gamepad

It's definitely on my list, but it would be an extremely painful run though because in that game you have to use B to enter into vents/grates, and there's A LOT of times the game requires you to go into those

As someone who has played arkham city with a playstation controller, i was able to complete this challenge without even thinking about it.
7:40 its probaby because the game thinks you want to switch gadgets, which (i think) always puts the current one away
If you had picked Knight for this challenge, it would have actually been impossible because of the brutes and shielded enemies

The trick to beating this is to change your controls so that you don’t need to hit the B button

You can beat it with put the B button if you open the map push the same button you used to open it and it will close

When i played arkham games for the first time i set the difficulty on the hard and the last thing ever upgraded was armor, we don't count arkham origins for known reasons.

There is a different way to beat batman arkham city without pressing b. oh and no I am not talking about back buttons. You see you can press the map button to exit the map without pressing b.

I played this game on playstation, so I already beat this challenge.
My issue is i play it on pc and i always forget what bind is related to the b button
