I remember back in 2003/2004, me and my dad went to an oriental market to go grocery shopping and they were selling the GBI god cards along with other yugioh cards there. I asked my dad if he could buy Slifer and he said he would if I showed him I had straight A's in school. In other words, he was basically telling me "you ain't getting shit until you earn it." He was also aware of how popular these cards were. I was really upset because Slifer was right in front of me in the 99 Ranch oriental market and you cannot get it in any other store at that time. You were basically the king in school and were also a main target to get jacked if you had at least one of the god cards, especially if you had Slifer. Now, I have a near mint secret rare GBI Slifer The Sky Dragon and a near mint secret rare G4 Winged Dragon Of Ra. I really really treasure those cards even though they're not that special anymore. I'm not gonna consider getting them psa graded since I'm not gonna use it to sell it for profit. I've had Slifer since 2011 and that will probably be the one I will keep forever.
I did too and didn’t care they looked fake as shit I was a fan of just the characters I think I bought the whole set for 20 bucks lol it was bittersweet just looking at them I was a junky back in the day

I've kind of grown out of Yu-Gi-Oh now but decided to watch the series as I came across it on Netflix. I used to love the series as a child but could never buy authentic cards. Not that I cared. My parents would always get me cheap cards from a market and I would always be so happy to open up my new deck when we got home. I certainly would like to look for my old fake cards when I get the chance to go home again. I think I may want to get into Yu-Gi-Oh again and actually buy real cards now.
What I'm trying to say is, I haven't grown out of Yu-Gi-Oh as I thought.

It is also worth saying the difference between ultra rare and secret rare with the god cards. Ultra rare bring the ones you are holding, which have a more standard holo finish. The secret rares have the speckled holo foil effect and a metallic silver for the font, rather than the gold of the ultra rare

Man I got the Ra GBI UR one, and could you explain it to me why'd it silver marked at bottom right of the card if it was Limited? And then what is GBI?

You know man I thought it was fake because I just playing yugioh 2 yrs ago and learn that LIMITED&1st card are gold marked, and when i see my GBI Ra it silver and i feel like "awh man this is fake" And I'm thinking about throw it to trash can, but i don't want to. I think the gold text and foil usually symbolises that the card is ultra rare 🤔

Dude , I had my whole set scattered at an ex girlfriends nephews house , was focusing on the party , and I let them go. Had a lot of valuable cards but gave them to the kid. Probably all in the trash now . I began collecting a few years later and bought a bunch in 2010. I know the feels. I had original charizard accidentally washed in the washer too

Its a reprint but real, the most valuable ones you can get are the secret rare GB1 where you had to pre order the gameboy game where as the ultra rare version is just from buying it in stores many years ago.

Can someone confirm something for me. I've been looking at God cards on Amazon and came across a slyfer the sky dragon. It says its the real deal and also two reviews (who say they know what they are looking for) left reviews saying this is the real deal as it doesn't have kinomi or yugioh written on the back (like it should be) they claim. I can't spot an obvious fake but I'm 100% certain that the REAL cards do in fact have kinomi and yugioh written on the backs but I'm not sure if the God card are different? BTW these would be the original non-playable versions of the god cards. Can anyone confirm if im mistaken or the reviewers are.
It’s so crazy that the fake god cards from the early to mid 2000s actually go for A LOT of money these says!! They were actually the first ones to hit the US and were very popular. In my opinion they look nice than the real ones and my collection of them will always hold a special place in my heart!!

I have fake ones that dont look that good I actually want to buy the Japanese GBA promo ones because they always looked so cool to me and they had them at the Japanese Too Cool store at my mall with other japanese goods like the expensive dragon ball figures which I bought as well. I never had enough money for the god cards though because they were like $300 for the whole set and $150 to buy a single one because they didnt want to separate them so they put them expensive sold alone.

If you go to Yu-Gi-Oh! TC Games do u need to have the Real Cards or Fake cards to play or you can have both.

I bought 3 Egyptian god cards but they’re LDK not GBI. They’re playable unlike the unplayable ones in this video. Everything on them seems legit except their backs look like regular card backs (brown rather than red/blue/yellow and they have Konami logo and Yu-Gi-Oh trading card game logo). Do you think they’re real or fake? I would appreciate your help.

I wish you'd do a video like this for the Secret Rare version of this set. I own all 3 in NM condition and am 100 percent sure they're authentic. After owning them for almost a decade it would still be satisfying to reaffirm the fact they're real though.

I just purchased a Winged Dragon of Ra gbi003. Is it supposed to have a glossy finish across the entire card?
I looked at the text and stars, they seem to be fine. But the glazed finishing is suspect.

i have the g4 secret parallel rare set in near mint condition cost me 160 only thing wrong is a slight bend on the ra that pretty much unnoticeable unless you look at it proper close

By far the easier way to tell is that the real gods say “Divine” as their attribute, and the fakes usually say “Gold”

I have a Winged dragon of Ra that has LC01-EN003 on it instead of GBI that I bought off a friend for 10 bucks. It doesn't havent the trademark logos on the back like in your video. It has that small description saying "Spirit's sing of a powerful creature that rules over all that is mystic" and with the front looking Normal like in the video too. it also says "this card cannot be used in a duel"... so how could I tell I'd this card is legit or not? Or what kind of card this is

So. i just bought the 3 of these off ebay for 45 dollars. then i saw this video. i got really scared because i thought i may have bought fake cards. looked very closely on the zoomed in photos and determined that they are very much real. i think i got a pretty good deal. Got to keep a close eye. Even seen sets on ebay where say 2 of them are legit with the 3rd god being a fake.

my friend got 3 god cards with card effects that arnt colored are they fakes or diff types?
Different type (that one is from either the battle packs or legendary collection 2).

+ARTEMIC Noet actually both cards are fakes because Slifer, The Sky Dragon has an actual effect to it. It’s not a normal monster/divine beast card. It’s effect, in summary, is that when it’s summoned to the field which is by tributing 3 monsters, the monsters on your opponent’s side of the field that get summoned lose 2000 atk points and if those atk points of those monsters are at 0, then those monsters are destroyed. Plus, the original Slifer’s other effect is that it gains 1000 atk and def points for each card in your hand.
The real slifer in this video is a 100% authentic card from the Game Boy Advance Game. The effect Slifer is simply a modified current version.

My cards look incredibly real. The only thing that bothers me is no black line over the ATK and DEF. I had my dad get these when I was roughly 10. But it was in the hype of the god cards so I am most definitely questioning them. But none of your observations match up with my cards, but I’m sure there are other fakes. How do I legitimately check for authenticity
The black line is only for obelisk. But seems to be slight differences with each card, especially ra which looks off centered

These are the original GBI gods. They were reprinted in LC01 and other limited edition variants in mass quantity. This vid discusses the real and fake originals.
