Hello everyone, welcome to another episode of "Let's Go Camping". This round of camping brings us 3 hours drive away from Kuala Lumpur, driving all the way up the east coast to the seaside town of Cherating. Looking forward to witnessing some turtles this round but luck was not on our side. If you guessed Willow Tree Cherating campsite, you are right. We are revisiting this campsite but this time with a buddy of our little Kingston in tow. Expect much frolicking in the sun and plenty of swims in the sea with our furkids this time around and also a much needed rest away from the city life.
As this is the weekday, and this campsite is always on a first come first served basis, we had a choice of any of the plots on the beach front but we choose to pitch our tent at the same spot where we did previously. Reason being there is a few trees for some shade and it is in the far corner to allow us some peace and quiet. Also most important is that if there were other campers, we wouldn't want our furkids to be a disturbance to them.
Setting up tent this round was a breeze (pun intended). We were there at around 8:00am so the wind haven't really picked up yet and as per our previous trip, there were strong winds all the way from 12:00pm till night. It's the first time pitching their tent on the beach for our camp buddy and they really had a great experience.
The entire 3 days were spent running around the beach and going for a dip in the sea. We all came back with sun kissed skin as the sun was shining down on us. The only exception was the second night where there was a sudden storm that came very fast and also left very fast leaving behind a trail of destruction. No videos were recorded for that part as we were busy picking everything up and it happened at 3:00am where all of us were asleep. After damage control, we noticed our flysheet had a gash but not too big so should be patchable. Else it will be shopping time for a new flysheet.
Overall, the campsite was just as nice as our previous trip here and the trip was so much more awesome because of the clear skies during the day. All 3 furkids were totally worn out after the trip and were even smiling in their sleep dreaming of that same beach that they called home for 3 days.
For those who are planning a trip here, this is a very clean and well maintained campsite, ample parking spaces, clean washrooms with hot water shower, well lit at night, showers by the beach front to rinse off the sand and salt water after a swim, easy access to the main road and convenience stores and restaurants are just a few minutes drive away.
Definitely will return again and again if we were to be looking for a pet friendly beach front campsite.

    What we have to say:
    - Bring along your sand pegs as certain parts of the ground near the beach front is quite soft. Get help from the caretaker Mr Rudi if you are unsure of how to pitch and secure your tent. Very helpful guy.
