Well i dont know about it beeing the "Perfect" hothatch but theres worse rides to be had. After learning to drive on a manual Golf GTD i owned a manual Polo GTI for seven years. Recently i upgraded to a DSG Golf 7.5 R, fully specd aswell, and that thing i call a nearly perfect hothatch. Insane power from factory and just a stage 1 software makes it challenge RS3s and A45s. The 4Motion makes it very fast form a full stop and it reduces understeer in fast corners by a lot compared to the GTI. Its got exhaust flaps as stock so you can be chilling and keeping a good relationship with the neighbours but if you switch to race mode it really comes alive, exhaust crackles and pops from factory. Absolute beast.
@lobster8009 The Golf R is an awesome car! The DSG is the perfect transmission for it, too. They have so much power. I understand what you mean, though. The GTI is great at everything, which is why I call it "perfect."
