nice to see the original titles in full action, plus the original title cue sounding MUCH better after all these years

So THAT’S why some color AAP prints of this retained the original soundtrack. It’s because of these black and white prints that WB sold to them and for some color ones, they used one of these black and white prints for the audio. That means the original titles were shown on TV at one point, but obviously only in Black and White as shown here. The color ones, of course use the reissue titles. Very fascinating.

Excellent find, now we all have an idea what the timing of the titles are like.

We technically already did for years as a silent B&W print with og titles was found and aap prints of Tweetie Pie for years used audio from the OG titles.

Warner Bros. had several black and white negatives in their vaults that were used mostly within military and medical settings. These negatives were eventually sold to Associated Artists, who appeared to have a separate procedure for printing in black and white. Likely as a cost cutting measure, instead of printing new elements, they appear to have sourced official black and white materials when possible. The negatives were eventually returned to Warners after the Turner merger, although they will never be used for restoration due to their obvious lack of color information.
*MOUSE MENACE* also has a surviving black and white negative. If you find an Associated Artists print of that in black and white, you'll be in luck.

So this is the print that has the original title card and not the Blue Ribbon recreation title card as seen on Looney Tunes Golden Collection Volume 2. I should know, I got the latter title card on my copy of the cartoon.
