No, Lahaina has always been the dry side, for thousands of years. It is in the rain shadow of the West Maui mountains and so gets very little precipitation. The dryness factor was only moderate level actually.

Not cool how the video is jumping from one end of the town to another! I’m trying to see if my old apartment behind the “old seaman hospital” Burt down ? Anyone know ? Near the Buddhist temple !
My ♥ goes out to the people of maui them who lost lives and property
What amazes me is how some buildings were left without much damage and everything around them burnt to the ground.
The shocking thing to consider in terms of climate change is that Maui is known to have one of the wettest places on earth. To think that the extreme dry weather has led to this devastation really should wake up those who still doubt are remain complacent when action is required.
Don't be a dick!
@@happyslappy02they quit maintaining and doing controlled burns same thing happening is in California.
No, Lahaina has always been the dry side, for thousands of years. It is in the rain shadow of the West Maui mountains and so gets very little precipitation. The dryness factor was only moderate level actually.
And next you’ll blame Trump!
@@oldtwinsna8347for thousands of years and never burned
omg is lahaina really gone
I think someone is going down here, so much in tourism investment that they never thought of something like this could happen. I mean it's not like forest fires in California were it's giant forest. I don't know
does anyone know the cause? the hurricane winds had to be a part of it.
So sorry to see this, praying for all the victims and their family
I am sending up prayers for everyone. I am so sorry for what’s going on. Stay strong.❤❤❤
Money is an idea that was free.
Money is not necessary for survival. Harmony is necessary for survival.
Humans are Nature.
All in one, one in all
Energy, vibration, form.
It's crazy to see one building burned to the ground and the one next to it seemingly untouched
Good bless you all
God bless Maui and its people. 🙏
Wild fires caused this!!??
Prayers 🙏🙏🙏
The historical section is history
DEW, wildfire my a.s.s. If it was a hurricane Dora, show the damage from around the island.
check the 10 second mark big white building and all surrounding area torched to the ground but the cluster of trees right behind the building untouched
@@murrayhall4727do you mean the big white MODERN BUILDING that was built with MODERN FIRE RESISTANT MATERIALS and didn’t burn because it was FIRE RESISTANT and acted as a wind breaker protecting the trees on one side from the blowing flames? With all the actual conspiracies do you have to pretend that nothing happens without the boogie man being involved? (And how about a little decent consideration for those who lost their property or loved ones?).
i have sympathy for all that were affected by the fire i am questioning its origin no i did not mean the MODERN BUILDING look at .10 mark there is a white building burnt out just the frame left so it was NOT sheltering the trees behind it. It should have ignited the trees if you look at the footage there are several places where building burnt to ash but yet right beside it a tree unaffected you dont find this strange? Or do you just follow what msn reports to us with religious faith? @@richardgross3794
You all keep screaming 'no Conspiracy' till its too late
My heart goes out to all the people there.
The governor of Hawaii should be put on trial! Nothing has been done to prevent this catastrophe. Knowing that the danger of fires and the approach of a cyclone along with storm winds did nothing! 36 deaths on the conscience of the governor! Should be suspended and put on trial!
Sad
La haine in French means hate. Lahaina destroyed by the hate of the fire. Horrific.
😢
I wonder if it was our lovely Weather Modification Program which created the unusual hurricane ?
Directed Energy Weapons
Nope. Don't be stupid
There is a mobile HAARP ship based outta Hawaii....
Omfg !! This is gut wrenching to watch..looks like a war zone !!.. just so bloody sad for everyone 😥😥🇦🇺💜
The rainbow at the end 🌈. 😔
So much water close by and what just.
Amazing to see Lahaina Shores still standing; it's one of the bldgs I worked on during initial construction back in the 70's. Everything else around it is burnt down to ashes, my father inlaw; Ray McDonnell was the suprintendant on that project. Does anyone else recognize that name?
Can anyone tell the world how the fire started and why it was allowed to burn so much of Maui.
Extremely impossible that the fire will cross in streets . There is even a block far from the burning blocks but then fire spread like gasoline is being tossed in the air
Prayers for the people and aina 🤙🏽🤙🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
It looks as though trees are still standing, how is this possible?
So sad and we need to help them.
Those D E Ws ain’t no joke
People need to wake up this is not even possible those are all concrete structures ,concrete don't burn
Can you imagine the air quality

I don't know why but I get a feeling that it was arson, but hey, what do I know right?
Anyone know about giving to the government there to help people recover and rebuild?
