While trying to funnel cars out of Lahaina - especially on Lahainaluna Ave. residents were desperately were racing in to their residential area using all of the lanes - both in bound and out bound lanes because there were kids, pets, family members and the homes themselves- that people that were at work were trying to get to - in an effort to save them. So those residents clogged escape routes countering what Maui Police had set up. - Don’t listen to the news - they are wrong.

As a public safety official (from vol. fire fighter all the way up to mayor)... in an "emergency" you clear the exits and assist the people you swore to serve in moving them as fast as you can to safety. Can "anyone" looking in retrospect of the Lahaina fire say they did that, or for that matter even attempted to do that? I'd say, just the opposite, and this is why prosecutions need to occur.
Same thing happened on an evacuation route in the Paradise, CA, Camp Fire. The police officer was following orders to keep the lane clear. I yelled at him to open the lane because of the traffic but it made no difference. Meanwhile, there was miles of traffic backed up and cars stuck in the flames because of the traffic. People had to abandon their vehicles and flee on foot as a result.

Pretty obvious the active fire with smoke across the road across from Safeway was the reason they didn’t allow cars to pass. And I know for a fact more power lines were down on the highway ahead.

The burnt cars in a pile up on Front was on front they appear to come from both direction and appear to be cars seeking to get into the water between Baker and Papaluna. Once a few cars blocked the road, at that spot…you stayed there for the ocean safety. There were other cars burnt but it was random pullovers and in parking lots. The conclusion is: It was simply to many cars in a funnel going north. Everyone went north on the one highway, all 13,000. Besides a group who knew how to take a back road and that was just as clogged. This was all poor city planning ….but who plans for mass evacuations?

the school buses are run by Ground Transport Inc, they have 16 long format school buses that can carry upto 72 children and six smaller buses that hold 30 children ! They were all parked before the fire at their parking situated at the Pioneer Smokestack on LahainaLuna Street ! I have managed to confirm by looking at video footage filmed after the fire that there are currently now only 4 long shcoolbuses and 3 shorter format Schoolbuses, when , we know there were 16 long and 6 short parked there before the fire ! So question is where are the 12 long buses and 3 short buses right now .... who moved them and why !! thats 954 seats of transport so did they tell the children at schools in the morning that there was a fire and that they were being evacuated from their school to a place of " safety " which turned out to be a place of cages , where they would await further transportation to shipping containers heading to here the mainland !! I reckon this to be the solution on where are the children !

( Upated 11/24) if you read the Hawaii Attorney General's report, the phone logs reveal the Maui police department and HECO were in contact with each other 8 Times from 513 a.m. to 3:01 pm. I only researched to 301 p.m.. I believe there was more contact than this. At around 2:55 pm when noon fire erupted HECO workers were also at the fire originatin Site and reported the fire. Its easy with all this contact for all officials to have known and confirmed IF Power was off or on Also, during the 3 p.m. hour Pelletier ordered one of his officers who was attending to the Fire, to check on HECO Repair Progress on the Shut Down Southern Evacuation Exit at Hwy 30 and Hokiokio place. Also there was more contact at 4:37 pm when another one of his Police officer ordered HECO to clear their repair vehicles off of Hwy 30 South evacuation Lanes and to open up the road and the Evacuation exit out South to the bypass. Unclear as to why police chief Pelletier wasn't handling this earlier in the day with Mayor Bissen and HECO Department Heads? Hwy 30 South at Papalua had been closed From 5:52 AM until somewhere around 4:37 pm This major Southern evacuation escape route out was closed for a total of 11 1/2 hours, and 9 long hours prior to the Fire, contributing to the death trap on the roods. This major evacuation exit should have been cleared and maintained open earlier in the day! All Power poles should have been cleared to the side of the road and all evacuation Lanes should have remained open during the extreme wind storm, and during the area wide, power outage where all traffic signals were out and power poles were Leaning and breaking and falling all over town! Mayor Bissen should have immediately call in National Guard early morning! He Didn't! With the big threat of the early morning fire in central Lahaina and the eruption of the noon Fire, there was still no HECO department head in the Emergency Operations Center all day until 6:45 p.m. at night!! Something is wrong with all of this. So, there is a lot of proof that Maui was in contact with HECO all day and Maui officials failed to make sure there was a free and clear viable Southern evacuation escape route out of town! Early on, Poles should have just been cleared off to the side of the road and evacuation Lanes Should have remained opened! I don't buy the big lying story that the Maui police department and the Mayor and everyone else in Lahaina thought the power was still ON and the Power lines could electrocute you and the public was unable to roll their cars over the lines or they'd get ELECTRO CUTED! Thats A LIE! Everybody outside saw the HECO work Crews handling bare wires high up in the poles! The BBC reports that HECO claims Maui County called the HECO Trouble Center 18 Times that day! So, Looks like there were lots of phone conversations and confirmations that Power was OFF between Maui police department, Maui County and HECO. Also,, at 4:37 pm, why was a lower Level police officer ordering HECO to get off the road and Clear Hwy 30 South to open up the towns Southern evacuation route so the people could escape? This, is beyond me?? Why hadn't Pelletier and Bissen made sure of this? Anyone can check the records and see For yourselves that the officials ability to check and verify IF the electric Power was off or on was easy to do and I believe it had been confirmed OFF for them! So, how was the public being endangered by fallen or blowing energized Power lives? Looks to me Like Police Chief Pelletier wrongfully cut-off and blocked The Cannery malls Parkerg lot exit and Front Streets only other safe evacuation exit out= North on Front Street, East on Kapanukea Street to Hwy 30 North and out of the Fire. This wrongful and unnecessary two hour road block trapped People in the Cannery Mall Parking lot and contributed to the deadly Chain Reaction gridlock which death trapped people on the roads where many innocent People died!! Pelletier knew the Power was OFF, yet he cut off and road blocked the crucial evacuation exit at Kapanukea and Hwy 30 North. Upon the eruption of the noon fire, he also never immediately cleared and Stopped all Southbound incoming traffic on highway 30 North and he never opened all four lanes and Contra flowed the Highway North, so that Front Street could quickly and easily Flow out for exacuation! Instead he allowed a non-stop barrage of Southbound incoming traffic on Hwy 30 to clog and obstruct the evacuation exit. obstructing peoples escapel He slyly orchestrated a "Traffic Congestion Block" So, Pelletiers 3 major road blocks caused the death Trap and the death on Front Street and in the surrounding area! I believe he attempts to now cover up all he did. 😢 .

As others have already pointed out, filming things that are visible from an open, public space is an established constitutional right. It seems highly unlikely that "emergency" bans by state or local governments would survive a constitutional challenge. What horrible harm is being caused? Here, it appears the motivation may be the deliberate suppression of speech that draws attention to the poor performance by emergency officials & the police, rather than some noble "emergency" purpose. Exactly the kind of speech protected by the US Constitution.

There was no valid reason for the police to have blocked off any of those roads. According to HECO, none of the downed power lines were live so they didn't present a danger to anyone crossing them. HECO said the power had been cut to West Maui for 6 hours when people were evacuating Lahaina. Who ordered the streets blocked off, and why?

Please go to Hawaii realtor and see what's happening there. He was detained today on his way to a funeral on the outer city limits and pulled over and he was stopped and told due to the proclamation he can't stop or film or take pictures on the bipass. 7 cops later he was cited for a proclamation violation and not having a front plate. The officers also wouldn't identify themselves. It's maddening.

Same thing happened on an evacuation route in the Paradise, CA, Camp Fire. The police officer was following orders to keep the lane clear. I yelled at him to open the lane because of the traffic but it made no difference. Meanwhile, there was miles of traffic backed up and cars stuck in the flames because of the traffic. People had to abandon their vehicles and flee on foot as a result.
Looking at the fires from the states it seemed like genocide to me. How about you? Where are the children? Why do we hear only 150 perished in the news, but we see online from the locals it is so much more. God bless you all.

Pretty obvious the active fire with smoke across the road across from Safeway was the reason they didn’t allow cars to pass. And I know for a fact more power lines were down on the highway ahead.

The burnt cars in a pile up on Front was on front they appear to come from both direction and appear to be cars seeking to get into the water between Baker and Papaluna. Once a few cars blocked the road, at that spot…you stayed there for the ocean safety. There were other cars burnt but it was random pullovers and in parking lots. The conclusion is: It was simply to many cars in a funnel going north. Everyone went north on the one highway, all 13,000. Besides a group who knew how to take a back road and that was just as clogged. This was all poor city planning ….but who plans for mass evacuations?

the school buses are run by Ground Transport Inc, they have 16 long format school buses that can carry upto 72 children and six smaller buses that hold 30 children ! They were all parked before the fire at their parking situated at the Pioneer Smokestack on LahainaLuna Street ! I have managed to confirm by looking at video footage filmed after the fire that there are currently now only 4 long shcoolbuses and 3 shorter format Schoolbuses, when , we know there were 16 long and 6 short parked there before the fire ! So question is where are the 12 long buses and 3 short buses right now .... who moved them and why !! thats 954 seats of transport so did they tell the children at schools in the morning that there was a fire and that they were being evacuated from their school to a place of " safety " which turned out to be a place of cages , where they would await further transportation to shipping containers heading to here the mainland !! I reckon this to be the solution on where are the children !

( Upated 11/24) if you read the Hawaii Attorney General's report, the phone logs reveal the Maui police department and HECO were in contact with each other 8 Times from 513 a.m. to 3:01 pm. I only researched to 301 p.m.. I believe there was more contact than this. At around 2:55 pm when noon fire erupted HECO workers were also at the fire originatin Site and reported the fire. Also there was more contact at 4:37 pm when another one of his Police officer ordered HECO to clear their repair vehicles off of Hwy 30 South evacuation Lanes and to open up the road and the Evacuation exit out South to the bypass. Unclear as to why police chief Pelletier wasn't handling this earlier in the day with Mayor Bissen and HECO Department Heads? Hwy 30 South at Papalua had been closed From 5:52 AM until somewhere around 4:37 pm This major Southern evacuation escape route out was closed for a total of 11 1/2 hours, and 9 long hours prior to the Fire, contributing to the death trap on the roods. This major evacuation exit should have been cleared and maintained open earlier in the day! All Power poles should have been cleared to the side of the road and all evacuation Lanes should have remained open during the extreme wind storm, and during the area wide, power outage where all traffic signals were out and power poles were Leaning and breaking and falling all over town! Mayor Bissen should have immediately call in National Guard early morning! He Didn't! With the big threat of the early morning fire in central Lahaina and the eruption of the noon Fire, there was still no HECO department head in the Emergency Operations Center all day until 6:45 p.m. at night!! Something is wrong with all of this. So, there is a lot of proof that Maui was in contact with HECO all day and Maui officials failed to make sure there was a free and clear viable Southern evacuation escape route out of town! Early on, Poles should have just been cleared off to the side of the road and evacuation Lanes Should have remained opened! I don't buy the big lying story that the Maui police department and the Mayor and everyone else in Lahaina thought the power was still ON and the Power lines could electrocute you and the public was unable to roll their cars over the lines or they'd get ELECTRO CUTED! Thats A LIE! Everybody outside saw the HECO work Crews handling bare wires high up in the poles! The BBC reports that HECO claims Maui County called the HECO Trouble Center 18 Times that day! So, Looks like there were lots of phone conversations and confirmations that Power was OFF between Maui police department, Maui County and HECO. Also,, at 4:37 pm, why was a lower Level police officer ordering HECO to get off the road and Clear Hwy 30 South to open up the towns Southern evacuation route so the people could escape? This, is beyond me?? Why hadn't Pelletier and Bissen made sure of this? Anyone can check the records and see For yourselves that the officials ability to check and verify IF the electric Power was off or on was easy to do and I believe it had been confirmed OFF for them! So, how was the public being endangered by fallen or blowing energized Power lives? Looks to me Like Police Chief Pelletier wrongfully cut-off and blocked The Cannery malls Parkerg lot exit and Front Streets only other safe evacuation exit out= North on Front Street, East on Kapanukea Street to Hwy 30 North and out of the Fire. This wrongful and unnecessary two hour road block trapped People in the Cannery Mall Parking lot and contributed to the deadly Chain Reaction gridlock which death trapped people on the roads where many innocent People died!! Pelletier knew the Power was OFF, yet he cut off and road blocked the crucial evacuation exit at Kapanukea and Hwy 30 North. Upon the eruption of the noon fire, he also never immediately cleared and Stopped all Southbound incoming traffic on highway 30 North and he never opened all four lanes and Contra flowed the Highway North, so that Front Street could quickly and easily Flow out for exacuation! Instead he allowed a non-stop barrage of Southbound incoming traffic on Hwy 30 to clog and obstruct the evacuation exit. obstructing peoples escapel He slyly orchestrated a "Traffic Congestion Block" So, Pelletiers 3 major road blocks caused the death Trap and the death on Front Street and in the surrounding area! I believe he attempts to now cover up all he did. 😢 .

It seems highly unlikely that "emergency" bans by state or local governments would survive a constitutional challenge. What horrible harm is being caused? Here, it appears the motivation may be the deliberate suppression of speech that draws attention to the poor performance by emergency officials & the police, rather than some noble "emergency" purpose. There was no valid reason for the police to have blocked off any of those roads. According to HECO, none of the downed power lines were live so they didn't present a danger to anyone crossing them. HECO said the power had been cut to West Maui for 6 hours when people were evacuating Lahaina. Who ordered the streets blocked off, and why?

He was detained today on his way to a funeral on the outer city limits and pulled over and he was stopped and told due to the proclamation he can't stop or film or take pictures on the bipass. 7 cops later he was cited for a proclamation violation and not having a front plate. The officers also wouldn't identify themselves. It's maddening.

Since then, several others have confirmed what he saw, including him saying that MPD blockaded the exits on Front Street even before the power lines were downed. They didn't sound the emergency sirens their own website admits is used for wildfires, earthquakes, terrorist attacks, hazmat spills, and tsunamis. They block the only road out of town.

Blocking exits in an emergency should be considered attempted murder. I heard another account from another family where they were forced to go back into the fires. Fled to the ocean with a bunch of other families. They reported not everyone survived

Heard same thing. And many children disappeared. They were pushed toward the ocean and forced to go in the hot water as the fire neared. Horrible.
