Unsalted butter 110g|1/2cup
Sugar 100g|less than 1/2cup
Whole egg 2 (55g+- an egg)
Cake flour 140g|1cup
Salt 1/2tsp
Whipping cream 80ml|1/3cup
Vanilla extract 1tsp
Rum 1tsp
Pan size 18x6x9cm
Bake at 180°C|350°F for 30-40 minutes

A lot of people asking, so this is the answer about Alcohol, the short answer is that any hard liquor works (Say 30% ABV minimum, and think about the flavor before using), and it can be omitted. The long answer:
Adding alcohol to your baking helps prevent the formation of gluten and produces flakier results. Adding more vanilla extract does work, but only if your extract is alcohol based. Gluten is what gives breads their chewiness, so alcohol (including rum) may be used in the manner shown in the video to give bready products a flakier texture rather than a chewier.
This is just something to keep in mind, because some recipes like Sourdough are recipes where you obviously want a chewy texture. Others like this cake you want very flaky and fluffy, as you notice when Apron breaks apart the cake, it has very little bend before breaking apart.

팁을 드리자면 버터와 계란을 섞을 땐 분리가 쉽게 일어나기 때문에 계량된 밀가루를 소량 넣어주면 분리를 막을 수 있습니다. 또한 계란을 2~3번 나눠서 넣고 빠르게 뒤섞는 것도 좋은 방법입니다. 다음으로 파운드 틀에 반죽을 넣을 땐 한번 체에 걸러서 밀가루 덩어리가 들어가는 것을 방지하고 높은 곳에서 반죽이 떨어지게끔 부어주면 파운드 케이크의 공기 구멍이 터지면서 좋은 파운드 케이크를 만들 수 있습니다.

I don't know whether that's your name but I just wanted to share a tip I picked up from my mom. When you add egg to your butter and sugar mixture, just sprinkle a teaspoon of flour on top and your batter will not split.
Or you can cream the butter with sugar and homogenize with eggs. Then it won’t spilt

@@fabianacastim6971 in France, we don't cut the cake in the oven after 10 mn. We just put filet of butter in the top of the cake. The cake will open itself without cutting. French tip 😉

Absolutely delicious! I made the mistake of baking this in a bigger loaf pan, so mine is very short, but still super delicious! Thinking of doubling the recipe for my loaf pan and just figuring out how to adjust the temp and bake time. Husband loves it too!

It's not 4/4 (Breton recipe from France). There is baking soda (food grade) in it. Here, it's a simple cake.
The real 4/4 recipe is for 100g of flour, 100g of butter, 100g of sugar and 100g of eggs. Same proportions of ingredients. It is IMPOSSIBLE to rise a dough without yeast. In this recipe, NO whipped cream is used. You can incorporate whipped egg white, it will rise, but not as well.
Just superb! I am going to make this but will use coconut oil instead of butter.

1. You opened oven after 10 min for the top surface cut. Normally premature opening / cooling causes sinking of the cake, isn't it?

I made this and it was delicious, soft and moist. It only lasted a day. I would recommend to double/triple the recipe though, because it made quite a small cake
