The Delta is one of my favorite combat ships. For me it fills the role of an AH-1 Cobra vs ground assets, where the Jericho launchers can have full effect on mostly stationary or slow targets like the Ballista or the Nova tonk. It's also fair in PvE dogfighting. I suck at PvP df-ing, so I have no input there.
Its been awhile but the Rockets used to travel at the same speed as size 2 cannonfire. So you'd normally run 4 size 2 cannons (with Stagger mode if desired) and the rockets would have the same arc and speed as your shots, making them much more usable
Gosh. This, the LN and the Tana were my go to ships back when I started playing, all those years ago! Good to see the Delta is still rocking along! Although the question still remains - What is in its back compartment? Alpha - Cargo grid. Beta - Whole living space. Racing variants - A third whole engine. What in the Delta takes up that much room? Another unsolved SC mystery.
This honestly this. The delta was amazing... was my go too light fighter. She was a stealth fighter, she had the ability to swap the rocket pods for guns. She had a compartment in the belly for storage which was supposed to be for your gear, ammo, and fuel... that all went away now she's... just kinda lame.
I used to fly the Delta all the time, back in the day. The rockets are good against larger, slow turning ships, or stationary ground targets. Or as anti-personnel ground targets.
I miss the old designs so much. They are what got me intrigued by Star Citizen. They had such a unique design. Probably only ship I am willing to put down real money (and not store credit) for!
i know you dont usually swap guns, to ships when reviewing them but Reliant tana is a BEAST with full laser cannon loadout and mfd gunner set to stagger fire. it gives you that very much star warsy experience when flying it. and if i had the MD i would most likely swap guns to cannons.
Incredible fun to fly the Delta and it can have quite some punch, especially because you can easily put some Attritions or NDBs into it and still have good power.
I always had a soft spot for this little ship. It's fun to fly, I like how it looks and the visibility is great. Also, a gimmick of sorts when they sold it was supposed to be something to do with the armor on the ship. In the lore or whatever it is supposed to have a proprietary coating or mesh material that reduces your signature so you are harder to target or something to that effect.
when I got into SC back in 2018 after my brother got me my first starter pack.... he gave me the option of any ship on the page, I am obsessed and infatuated with classic '60's Mustang's so when I saw the Mustang Alpha I just had to.... however at the time the Mustang was in a very bad place, and the Aurora wasn't much better or worse.. I have a Mustang Beta now in my ship loadout... which I'm actually enjoying flying, the Delta is something I really do want to get hold of in game. would love if they had ships which have foldable wings when they lower the gear to actually allow for more glide landings or conventional landings unless you turn VTOL's on I see the rocket pods as more of a ground attack weapon which may be the intention as for preferred fighter's light fighter, has to be the Arrow for me medium to heavy, the Scorpius Antares
I really used to like this ship back when you could swap out the rocket pods for guns. Still a nice little ship, but could be better. Even if it's just a buff to the rocket's damage. Hard to hit with, but very rewarding when a good shot hits.
Another great little review. I’m not a fighter pilot but I can play that if I have to (years of elite, elite dangerous and wing commander). I probably wouldn’t buy this but it’s a great starter ship for sure
Gotta love the OG's uniques: Mustang Delta: Rocket launcher ship? 315p: Tractor beam in that spot? Herald: Only ship you enter on starboard side. F7C: Cargo fighter? Hope the stealth armor works for the Delta.
@@scribemike Well the Mustang Alpha has EVEN MORE signature increase, but yes it's weird and I hope the Delta will get proper reduction at some point. Maybe not as much as the Sabre that was built for it but liek the Hornet has through its armor.. although that has a specific component. So maybe not 50% but at least 35%.
The Mustangs are a family of ships I haven't had much exposure to, but definitely want to try more. Really the only one I've flown -- once -- is the Alpha and it was fun!
Great video bro!! the rocket pods are a great deterrent everyone seems to forget about. anything jousting, big, or slow makes this thing feel like a space rogue, I recall back in the day this is a starter stealth ship too. should be interesting to see in the upcoming years. I actually traded my 135 for one of these.. just more fun IMPO. Id be interested to see a comparison of the mk1's vs the mk2's I still like my S mk1 Stay awesome, Be safe!
I honestly really love the Mustangs. I rented the Delta and the Gamma (or whatever one is the 'racing' variant) during IAE. I always enjoyed flying them. I HAD originally decided on only owning 2 ships (back in 2015 when I first backed the game). I had decided on the Mustang Beta and the Freelancer DUR. I had really wanted to get into exploration and traveling. Now I'm mainly into Salvaging, Cargo Running, and Mining...wonder if they will ever produce Mustang variants for those fields (minus the cargo one, I know the standard one does an 'ok' job with that.)
I really like the design language of CNOU, hope we will see more ships from this manufacturer. Would be great to see something in the medium category with this much visibility from the cockpit. I own the Omega and am a bit disappointed that it is not noticeably different from the standard versions. I wanted to give you a slap on the fingers for calling the rockets fire-and-forget at the beginning, but luckily you correct yourself at the end. 😅
I have one of these with the St. Paddy's Day paint in buybacks. Before Star Citizen goes into 1.0 I think I'm going to want to bring it back from buy backs just as a collector's item.
Congrats on getting to 15K subs Evenlease! This isn't really my cup of tea when it comes to light fighters. I prefer the Gladius over this ship. i do really love the look of the ship though. When looking at it from the front, and with the wings down, it kinda reminds me of a Klingon Bird of Prey. Really nice lines
Bumping up the pods to size 2s and letting them swap out for standard racks, i.e. 4 total size 1 missiles, would do a lot for this ship I think. I personally am not a big fan of the chin turret, never have been, I'd rather be able to swap the turret out for a single big gun mount, pry a size 3 in this case. Turrets in single-seat ships are odd, to me.
Oh man, PLEASE make a review on the Omega variant, i would love to hear your thoughts on it! If you don't own one, i'll take mine out for a spin for ya for the duration of the review, for as long as you'll need it
Ok... let me help you Evenlease. Rockets are unguided, missiles are guided. This is mainly when dealing with artillery, aircraft and ground vehicle equipment. The Mustang Delta has ROCKETS. The Aurora has MISSILES. And they are all fire and forget in Star Citizen. You dont have to track them into a target.
@EvenLease44 it's not uncommon for non-military or military minded people to understand the difference. It's like when people call a M2 Bradley a tank.
I think the mustangs look cool and they have AMAZING visibility from the cockpit however those guns are just not very effective in pvp (imo). I killed the thing with a damn p4-ar (needs some more hull hp, that thing dies fast) Would also be nice if you could replace the rocket pods, I know they are unique to the ship however with the state of them being very buggy sometimes it would be nice if we could change them.
I think youre selling the rockets poorly. They are insanely good against outposts and cargo center missions you feel like a attack heli. Especially since the conversion on guns is pretty lack luster for ground fire
It seems that CIG hates this ship, a stealth ship that gets a penalty to ALL signatures?!?!?!?! Up until recently those LOCKED (why are they locked?) rocket pods had the MOST power draw of any weapon in the game keeping you from installing a stealth power plant, although that was "fixed" the damage and speed of the rockets themselves is absolutely useless and illogical. I really like this ship, but i guess it's hard to sell the higher tier stealth ships if this wonderful dark horse is actually represented as it should be. FAIL CIG!!!!!
@ “While it may not be able to go toe to toe with some of the military specific ships, by reinforcing the Mustang’s already strong hull construction with Consolidated Outland’s own line of Cavalry Class Mass Reduction Armor, the Delta has a reduced cross-sectional signature that evens the playing field.” -- CIG In previous patches it did receive stat reductions (IR, EM, and Cross Section) as the other stealth ships. Love to hear it! Felt like a great ship.
Dude! Your banging these out like a some type of wild animal, a mustang if you will
HAHAHA LOVE IT… might have another one tonight if I’m lucky to have the time.
Its been awhile but the Rockets used to travel at the same speed as size 2 cannonfire. So you'd normally run 4 size 2 cannons (with Stagger mode if desired) and the rockets would have the same arc and speed as your shots, making them much more usable
That sounds like it would make them more viable. They are neat but kinda useless right now.
Gosh. This, the LN and the Tana were my go to ships back when I started playing, all those years ago! Good to see the Delta is still rocking along!

The Mustangs all got screwed over royally by CIG's half-assed, so-called "rework".
I used to fly the Delta all the time, back in the day. The rockets are good against larger, slow turning ships, or stationary ground targets. Or as anti-personnel ground targets.
Bro, those rocket pod shots on that 300 series was honestly increidble. bravo.
I miss the old designs so much.

Really dig the paint showcase at the beginning!
Love trying the mustangs every so often, they look great. Fun little ships. Great review/presentation as always
Thank you! They are pretty fun.
Incredible fun to fly the Delta and it can have quite some punch, especially because you can easily put some Attritions or NDBs into it and still have good power.
Absolutely! Sounds like you've had some good experience in the delta?
Mustang Delta is one of those ships I always make sure to have after a wipe. Just too much fun.
I always had a soft spot for this little ship. It's fun to fly, I like how it looks and the visibility is great. Also, a gimmick of sorts when they sold it was supposed to be something to do with the armor on the ship. I've never actually seen the Mustang's skins - Those are actually kinda awesome.

I can’t say I’ve flown any of the mustang variants, I definitely want to give it a shot now!
It’s not a terrible time!
I really used to like this ship back when you could swap out the rocket pods for guns. Still a nice little ship, but could be better. Even if it's just a buff to the rocket's damage. Hard to hit with, but very rewarding when a good shot hits.

Currently, not only does the stealth armor not work, the Delta has increased signatures in all three categories. No explanation from CIG as usual. :/

I love the Delta, its a beautiful ship!
It has one of the best canopies tbh
It’s super clear and not much intrusion, love that!
It's one of all the Mustang's true strengths.
The Mustangs are a family of ships I haven't had much exposure to, but definitely want to try more. Really the only one I've flown -- once -- is the Alpha and it was fun!

Heck ya love the videos, helps mile 401 go by even faster
*rocky theme playing* YOU GOT THIS!
At one point you could swap the rocket pods for S3 guns. It became a proper beast at that point.

yeah something between the Pioneer and the Nomad would be nice.
I have one of these with the St. Paddy's Day paint in buybacks. Before Star Citizen goes into 1.0 I think I'm going to want to bring it back from buy backs just as a collector's item.
If it had a bed then this ship would be perfect. There is space in the back for the pilot seat to recline and turn into a bed.
Noice a member exclusive video.
This ship and the aurora cost me 5 days to choose one of them 😂😂😂
Ps: the aurora win cause i can live inside it.
Aurora is a great choice!
unless they changed it one of the mustangs had an inside too. I forget what one though.
Wings in Mustang series are made of paper, but at least ship is still flying well without a wing.
It is a great little fighter, although it really isn't that little. Compared to the arrow, it is gigantic in every metric and from every viewpoint.
Very true!
Congrats on getting to 15K subs Evenlease!

Fire review my guy! What suit is that you are rocking at the beginning? 🔥🔥🔥
Oh man, PLEASE make a review on the Omega variant, i would love to hear your thoughts on it! If you don't own one, i'll take mine out for a spin for ya for the duration of the review, for as long as you'll need it
The rockets are very good against bigger ships
They were fun to shoot and I could see them being more useful against larger targets
I i like much more the old mustang but its very nice
Ok... let me help you Evenlease.
Thanks! I don’t script my self so sometimes I’ll confuse my words, I’ll try to be more accurate next recording!

Agreed changing out the rocket pods would be pretty cool!
How can you not swap out he rocket pods hooked under the wing same as those guns? Should be easy.
Is it supposed to be the future will all the guided rockets us has been experimenting with them for years😅
I always thought these ships had an interior
I believe only one of them has an interior.
Sacrifice for the algorithm gods.
it'S a nice little fighter, but wasn't it capable of stealth? my absolute favourite starter fighter is still the Avenger Titan
It *should* be capable of stealth but not currently working as intended.
I think youre selling the rockets poorly. They are insanely good against outposts and cargo center missions you feel like a attack heli. Especially since the conversion on guns is pretty lack luster for ground fire
Really this is what people said is let's talk about a mustang? Ok?
This is under the dont underestimate ship. It can sting people. Great harasser
Absolutely!

huh? The Delta is supposed to be a stealth ship? Its a light fighter.
