The costs of missiles doesn’t really change my view on this ships score/potential, just makes it less of a daily fighter and more of a ship you pick for a specific reason once and awhile. Hopefully the costs of missiles we see right now isn’t final or missiles have become pointless anyways . Thank you for watching!
I'm really enjoying and appreciating the paint showcase at the beginning of your content! I like the base color, the Ashcloud, and the Starlight (technically a Peregrine paint) for the Sabres. Having owned the Sabre Raven before I even has the standard Sabre, I prefer this ship design language over the standard. I didn't get the Peregrine because I already have a couple of racers, and the Peregrine is kind of large to race, at least to me.
I love this ship. Loaded with Chaos III's it has absolutely shredded for me and has been a beast in PvE bounties. You sir have been on such a roll with these reviews and the style and music is top notch. Loving your camera work.

The paint showcase is becoming your standout signature to reviews, and its excellent for it. This is one of my favourite looking Fighters. If I bought one for both looks and function, this would be the one.
One thing to note with alpha version 4.0 is that the cost of missiles and torpedoes has increases dramatically. As a result, any ships you have with these types of ordinance as their primary attack will be somewhat expensive to run. As we are in an alpha everything will no doubt change several more times as the game develops, yet for now you will need to find a way to fund the missile boats.

The Firebird in the Auspicious Red (Chinese New Year paint) is my favorite. Rising Phoenix vibe. The red paired with the gold trim is absolute *chef kiss*
Keep up the awesome work on this vids. The paint showcase is fire. I'm not 100% sold on the missiles and having them actually lock on and effectively take out a target.

I just bought one because because it’s one of the few ships that offer a a different take on ship combat outside of the standard dog fighting gameplay.

I love flying this ship, it moves and sounds amazing. Missiles can be hit n miss and you are at the mercy of the server performance yet its still fun. I put 2 of those Ardor event lasers on it. Works great for VHRT etc.
This was my IAE choice. Really cool stealth fighter. My friends and org mates appreciate the love and care I put into her and I enjoy being their shadow. When folks come around picking on them, they're quickly dissuaded by Thunderbolt IIIs. I spent a pretty penny on stealth components and my friends didn't pick her up on sensors until I was right up on them (I mean 2km close.)
i’ve become obsessed with the firebird, it’s my favourite fighter for sure. i need to get better at managing distance and cross-section. the chaos 3 missiles are great too
I have had one, love it and it is currently in buybacks. Will more than likely get it back in the future when i want to mess around with what my liberator carries
This ship also has a external inventory you can access opposite the pilots cockpit access. It also has a space for weapons storage on the wing. Can confirm it'll take a rifle but looks like it can hold a heavy weapon.
Had a firebird pledged before it became available in game and I LOVED that thing. Sadly she highly depends on server performance to be good, but she's a menace on a healthy server. Love that ship! And as always, the paint showcase is incredible! Starlight has to be my favorite.
I love my firebird. I usually switch out the gatlings to NDBs and I like to go bounty hunt with it for players. The stealthiness allows me to get really close without being detected and the baragge of 6 missile from close range takes out even the most savvy players as none are prepared to flare 6 missiles. Just love it, but it's a menace for sure 😅
This has never been my daily fighter anyhow. This has always been more of my "Ooo, now you *know* how mad I am!" fighter, so the price of missiles isn't as relevant for me as it may be for some. Revenge is, after all, priceless.
This ship is one I would like. I suck at combat so stealth and that missile payload would be a good fit for me I think. I wont buy it but use in game credits when I want one.
I picked this ship up during IAE this year after test flying it a bit. Absolutely adore the ashcloud paint and dumping missiles into targets, I think when weapons are enabled during NAV mode with the upcoming master mode reworks this thing is gonna be an absolute menace with its speed and missiles. The only gripe I have is that the cockpit is so bloody bright…takes a little bit away from the stealthy look imo.
great little ship, hope missile price changes in PTU dont kill it lol. would love a base sabre MKII based on this hull model with 4 guns and less missiles
Very good ship but pretty DOA now with planned missile changes. Had fun with it and the base sabre has also been buffed and if you stick the 4x Andor S3 on it, pew pew machine.
I was playing around with this ship last night. It’s devastating against other light fighters and starter ships. I think that the Gatling are the wrong weapons though. Instead I’d do laser repeaters to pull down shields, then joust forward past your target and zoooom off to throw those missiles at target.
Love the video as always, the paint showcase is such a good idea!! I do have to ask, where did you get that helmet? I think i saw someone else wearing it in-game and it looks a lot like the UEE navy pilot gear. Thanks for another fantastic video!
The helmet comes with a flight suit that is currently only available if you buy the citizencon 2954 goodies pack, it’s still available but not for long. And, thank you!
If missiles and/or torpedoes were more reliable, I'd probably be more interested in this ship or the Talon. When I took my Polaris out with some friends to take on the Idris (for the Stage 3 of Save Staton missions) I literally watched one of our size 10s BOUNCE off Idris, after we had already crippled its shields and PDS turrets. One might blame the server lag and stuff, but that's kinda my point lol. Missiles and torpedoes seem too reliant on the server running smoothly, which is still very rare. I am surprised to see the Firebird actually has size 3 guns, for whatever reason I assumed it only had missiles, lol. I do like the way it looks and I bet it flies like a dream.

Hello, EvenLease. Been watching your reviews on ships for Star Citizen for awhile. I'm trying to get a gaming pc for the first time and am interested in Star Citizen. What specs do I need to run it?
How much does it cost now to restock those missiles? I have a CCU in my buyback as I've been debating getting this, but I also want to make sure I don't spend more on missiles than the money earned for completing bounties.
if the missile is armed and ready to be fired, it should be able to do just that. The fact that every other ship has a limit of 4 armed missiles is incredibly stupid.
This is one of those ship that I really wanted to have but when thinking about it price compares to other all round ship it make the price in cash of this ship is a no for me.
Well.. a cost of rearm doesn’t technically dictate how good the ship it self is - but yeah, the cost of missile rearms will just make its use very specific and a lot more rare.
The normal Sabre can brawl a bit more than this so it depends on your play style, if you prefer to hit from a distance and stay out of range this would be the better option.
It’s so expensive to rearm this in 4.0.. but the ship itself is one of the most annoying and difficult ships to fight especially in group combat.. 1.9k MIN detection is absolutely busted.. they boost away and you cant target them anymore lol

Seems CIG are forcing people away from combat which just sucks, and will likely be only for the wealthy like orgs. If they don't change the prices to be fair, I think I will be forced to move into more civilian roles like mining or something. Feels like every new patch it just gets more and more tedious to play with CIG removing what little fun is still left in the game.

just gotta self destruct it after every few missions. 6 size 3's (that hit consistently now) are enough to kill most things

The hardest part about missile ships is they are so server dependent and even then it can feel SO random.

The ability to jump between systems would have kept it in my hangar.
That would have been to to have enough fuel just to make the jump, at least until we get more carrier style ships.

Ive been enjoying throwing a couple missiles and then cleaning up with deadbolts for pve. Its so fun using this ship

Put some laser scatterguns on the firebird and it'll shred any target. About the only thing that'll give you trouble is a fully crewed polaris

Going to test it again but I think it was around 150-200k for the whole armament.
7.8k per missile, so 187k for 24
