"it's a small world" Disneyland Paris clock parade through the years (Not my footage)

This is Disneyland Paris "it's a small world" clock parade through the years, from the 1990's to the present. Unlike the Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland versions this Paris version has always had the same soundtrack since it's opening in 1992, which was composed by John Debney, the same composer behind Disneyland Paris' "it's a small world" soundtrack. The earliest footage I could find is from 1996, and there are several other videos after that up to the present day. You can also see the three different color schemes that Paris' small world has had, the original from 1992-2002, and the second version was from about 2002-2015, and the current version from 2015-present. I hope you enjoy this video.

I believe that Paris's version of the "it's a small world" clock parade is the most minor documented location. Most people do not notice that it is active because it is at a higher elevation (no thanks to the covered station roofs) and that Disneyland Paris maintenance only makes the ride itself a priority, not the clock tower. I became obsessed with this version because of the Debney soundtrack (especially during the gears portion) and how, on every video of this version, only some parts are operating as intended. Examples include the mint arrows, flags, pinwheels, at least one gear section, the Argentina flower, the hourglass, and sometimes the audio needing to be fixed (like in the 2014 and some recent 2021 videos).
When the attraction re-opens in 2023, I hope that the following changes occur:
-All parts of the clock tower during the gears segment operate as intended
-The tick-tock noise of the sun/moon face would be heard during the entire clock parade
-All parts stop when the toy soldiers start drumming, not during the doll parade
-On that note, the dolls would move faster so that their door closes sooner (just like in Anaheim, Tokyo and Hong Kong)
-The fanfare audio pattern would be the same as the others (short-long) instead of long-long and short-short depending on the hour.
-The bell tolls retain their current audio, but the minute one does not glitch and only plays once
-The hour gong does not glitch and cause the doors to be open for longer than anticipated
-The time doors open before the parade music ends, just like in the other versions
-Finally, the hourglass would be active during the gears section and not when the time doors open like previously.
I know this is a long list of wishes, but this is what I perceive as a perfect Paris clock parade. What do you guys think? Do you agree or disagree with some of the stuff I said?
Oh, and another thing, here's what I wish won't happen for the 2023 clock parade:
-All the audio (except for the gears section and the bell tolls) would match Anaheim and Tokyo's versions. (They could always revert it before the official opening)
-Disney only gave the tower and facade a fresh paint job with nothing mechanically changing for the clock parade.
I agree with much of what you said and would love to see the same things happen. I hope that maintenance becomes a bigger priority at Disneyland Paris it's a small world again after this major refurbishment. It happened in California in 2008, and Paris in 2015, so I definitely hope that it not only happens again, but that they can actually keep it that way for more than a few years. I really love this version as well, and it's probably my second favorite, after California. The Paris façade layout and much of the attraction itself is my second favorite after the California original.
What do you mean like the fanfare audio should be short-long, not long-long or short-short? I don't get it..

1996: great condition, same for 99. And 2001
2007: I like the color change, it gives it way more personality.
2010: so many things on the clocks are broken. You can tell because they aren’t moving, only very few are moving
2014: this is when the facade starts malfunctioning, at 9:43 the sound is looping for some reason, also you can hardly see any colors. Also the fact the doors did not close when it was supposed to.
2016: this was the revamped we asked for, and got, I also like the 2nd color change for the clock, gorgeous palate. I also like the new hour strike chime
2019: the facade just malfunctioned again, the music played early before the dolls could even come out the door.

The one at 2007 when the time doors open the hour glass was going left to right

The clock tower now is, I’d say, in even worse condition than it used to be previously. The paint didn’t take long at all to look awful. It’s rusty, faded, and just looks horrifying.. and yes, same with the mechanics too. Gears, clocks, etc, all broken again. So glad they took it down indefinitely for this huge refurbishment. It’s been desperately needing it
I have seen some of those pictures and videos and it is very sad. Definitely hope that they fix it in this refurbishment.
@@benjaminroberson1924 I think the issue is that for some reason this facade is built entirely out of metal, rather than the stucco and whatever else the other versions are made of. That definitely explains the paint problems

@@TackyFlamingo Yeah I think it does. Still doesn't explain some of the other operational problems, which probably come from lazy maintence, now unfortunately also the standard in California and Florida.

Yeah, definitely *very* sad when Disney lets their rides get into that state. And sadly it seems to be happening more often in the US parks as well now, as of the last ~5-7 years.

I don't know, but I'm pretty sure that they were broken down for a long period of time

which is your favourite variation of paris ?
Im not sure, I probably like the 2015-16 clock the best because there were more features that were working as apposed to the other versions. As for the ride itself while I really appreciate how they improved the lighting and soundtrack in 2015 I also wish they would have kept the old hello and goodbye rooms, as they were more unique than the flowers that are there now. I think the flower design fits very well in other parks where they have the Mary Blair Style, but not in Paris since they don't have the Mary Blair style there. I'd probably say the 2015 version because of how brighter everything was, but since I also miss the old hello/goodbye rooms I'd probably call it a draw between the 1992 and 2015 versions.

@@svis6888 Yeah I've noticed that Disneyland's clock in particular hasn't been very well maintained these last few years, and given the fact that WDW's version has been the worst maintained version for decades now (except for the 2005 refurb) I'm sure their clock has been going under some difficulties as well. If only the rest of the parks could be as well maintained as the Tokyo parks, since those parks are known for their impeccable maintenance, because they are not owned by Disney.

I think that was just a malfunction, as DLP small world was starting to get pretty dilapidated at the time and it was fixed in 2015
