• Rare footage of TDL cl...
This is the evolution of Tokyo Disneyland's "it's a small world" clock parade, from 1983 to the present day. I have all three versions, the original 1983 version (which was the same as Disneyland's 1966 version), as well as the 1990's version that was used until 2017, as well as the current 2018 version. There are several videos representing each period in Tokyo Disneyland's history. I hope you enjoy.

At 5:20 you can hear some of the Disneyland paris sound effects . Such as the springy sound effects, and the ticking.
Yeah, Tokyo used most of the Paris Clock Parade and ticking audio from roughly 1994 until the 2017-18 refurb/renewal. The Paris audio for the springs of the first section and the hour/minute chimes of the last section are still used today.
At 12:07 I love that it’s a mix between its original, Hammock, and Debney soundtrack. With the gears movements being it’s own original sound, the clock parade audio being the 2003 remake of the original, and the gong sounds from the Debney version.
I actually prefer the other soundtracks, but still love this one as well
it only took tem 15 years to catch up to what Anaheim was using for their clock parade music
I grew up riding the 1994 version of this ride! I have to say I do prefer the new colors in the 2018 version though. I also miss the old sounds. The original 1983 version also sounded the best in my opinion.
Although I live across the Pacific ocean from Japan, I also grew up watching videos of the c.1994-2017 version for nearly a decade before it's closure. In fact, the 2008 video featured here was actually the first that I ever saw of Tokyo's version around age 4 or 5, about a year after it was made. I really miss the old sounds as well, and personally feel similarly to you where I want the old sounds back (1983 or c.1994 both work perfectly for this version), but I do prefer the current colors, the ones since 2018. Although it's still fantastic, the current mix of Paris and California audio is a little strange in my opinion. Although I love all versions, the 1983 version also happens to be my personal favorite for TDL.

At 11:16 they actually use a different sound at Paris. It’s actually a bell they use on buoys or boats.

Hidden fun facts about the jumbled numbers on the clock tower:
The #2: Two Disney Parks currently operating: Disneyland (Anaheim, CA) & Disney World (Lake Buena Vista, FL)
The #50: Up and down (north/south) which means fifty below the temperature Walt Disney’s head is at a cryofreeze.
The #19: Age Walt Disney left to make something out of himself
The #748: “Seven for eight” There are seven major lands of Disneyland, for eight including Main Street USA.
The #63: Doritos chips were firstly introduced in 1963 in Disneyland Park (Although according to Wikipedia, the Doritos was first introduced in 1964).
This attraction was first debuted in 1966 at Disneyland Anaheim.
Most of these are correct and very interesting. The only one that is not true is that Walt Disney's head is frozen. That is just a myth, or urban legend, and not only is there no evidence to back up that claim, but he was actually buried at Forest Lawn, California. Also, there are now technically nine lands (including Main Street) since the opening of Star Wars in 2019. But otherwise these are very cool!
But when small world opened, Disneyland was still the only park?
@@TackyFlamingo You're correct as usual, but technically, Disney bought the Floridian land in 1965, around the same time the Cali Clock Tower was developed and built, so they could be referring to that.
There's something about the Wobbly boing sound that gets me all weird
The main sounds that the clock plays are as followed
Clink klank (Beep) bounce Boioioing (boop)
The gong sound is a rare sound
What if that weird California/paris clock soundtrack (the paris clock parade with california chimes) was at tokyo before they repainted
青がいいな😊
i like the gong on the 1983 ver. and the tick tock

@@benjaminroberson1924 Thank you
Wow, I have to say that this one definitely went through the most changes out of all of them.
Yeah this one has definately seen a lot of changes over the years.
@urudjndmdmdm the Railfanner yes on this video, I also have California and Paris if you look on my channel

@@benjaminroberson1924 this video was in my recommended so I watched it again lol. And I noticed something, in usual TDL fashion, I actually like all the color schemes. The original 80’s colors are simple, half white like Anaheim’s, then half pastel colors mainly of the blue and purple variety, and it’s actually quite aesthetically pleasing tbh. Then the 90’s one, which happens to be my favorite, has a nice blend of every color in the rainbow and also added the beautiful fountains and other bushes + the new startup sounds that is unique to Tokyo. I also prefer this variant’s music the most. I think the Paris clock soundtrack is my favorite. I have lots of nostalgia for this one. And the recent 2018 refurbishment is also beautiful. The colors go so well with each other and I love the new gold, which almost looks like bronze. I also like the darker color for the fountains, this color scheme really pops. However, I’m not a fan of the fact that it now uses the same music as CA and HK, that’s surprisingly a big drawback for me. Basically, no matter which color scheme it is, they all looked great in their own ways.
@@TackyFlamingo Wow, great & well written comment that I mostly agree with! I love all three variants of Tokyo's façade as well, each one has a great combination of colors for the reasons you stated. My personal favorite color scheme is the 2018 version, because of how beautiful & vibrant it is, but I also love the 90's-17 parade music the most, especially with the unique startup sounds you mentioned. I also have a *lot* of nostalgia for the 90's-17 version as well, because I used to watch all kinds of videos of it (Especially the Parade) when I was younger. I still do today of course, but I also agree that using the same CA/HK music was a drawback, so I typically stick to pre-2018 Clock videos. I also really love each Tokyo façade, they really looked great in their own ways.
10:13 The australian doll is not there
i hope shanghai disney gets its a small world too and should put the one in paris clock face half sun half moon would be cool tho
I doubt that will happen. I *THINK* the reason Shanghai doesn't have IASW is because it's relatively close to Hong Kong which does have it.
@@disneydanny2 they both have toy story lands which both include Slinky Dog spin
Apparently the plan was to originally have one, but instead of a clock tower they would have just had a replica of the tower of the four winds. Idk why it was scrapped entirely
Uh... may I improvise? Mabey to some. The clock face looks like something out of a fever dream. But once you see and hear it performance your fears of the moving clock face becomes less frightening and more stupid (in a funny way)
Go there with a friend from high school
I like it
ママが子どものときに見たよ
Just giving you a heads up that the japanese name for the ride is イッツ・ア・スモールワールド which is pronunced the same as english.
Why did they remove the hourglass at 2018-present?
I'm pretty sure it was just undergoing some maintenance that time because it was there when I last went
@@idk-zt8rx This is correct. I've also seen some 2020's videos with the hourglass having returned
@@benjaminroberson1924 Can you Upload space mountain through the years complication video?
I wish they kept the original clock parade music, which was used in the 80s, cause it’s better than the new parade music
Agreed
Well the use the current clock parade bit still use their current clock tower intro audip
I do not like the original one it sounds so weird
Why was the hourglass removed after 2017?
It was only gone temporarily in 2019 to be fixed. It returned soon after.
I got a question, did you use Google Translate?
Yes, is something off? Because I know I got a couple of things off before but I fixed it, though I would like to know please if there is more.
@@benjaminroberson1924 I don’t speak any Japanese at all, I was just surprised about the fact that you included a Japanese translation in the title of this video.
I actually do know a few words, but I am definitely not fluent in Japanese either and I did use Google Translate for this video.
Can you do holiday
Not sure, because that one has for the most part been the same since they started using it in 1997, and there were only a few minor changes circa 2003 after the facade was painted back to white and gold, and the original fanfare was restored. I might do it, and I'm definitely making a Paris clock evolution video in the near future, since that one has seen a few more changes
Ok
do DLP clock parade through the years
I will get to that eventually
@@benjaminroberson1924 if i'm not mistaken Paris is the only one that has never changed their clock parade music instead opting for what Anaheim used previously, which is what has been heard in Paris since 1992, correct?
@@disneydanny2 Yes, Paris is the only one as of now to not switch to the newer music. However, the 1992 Paris music was never used in Anaheim, but was used in Tokyo from the mid-1990's until 2017.
Why does the 1983 and 1989 have the weird tick tock sounds?
I don't know why.
BRO THE FIRST ONE HAD THE CALI WTH
Hong kong is a small world through the years parade
I chose not to do Hong Kong because it hasn't really seen any changes since it's debut in 2008
HKDL?
DL 2001 version music = HKDL 2008 version = TDL 2018 version
I decided not to do Hong Kong simply because the music has been the same since it opened in 2008, and I don't think there have been any other changes since then.
