"it's a small world" Holiday Clock Parade Disneyland at 3:45 PM, November 17, 2024
In this video, I recently filmed a full 3:45 PM performance of the it's a small world Holiday Clock Parade at Disneyland, in November 2024. This is easily my best quality video of the Holiday clock parade as my camera is now better than the one that I used in 2023. The parade begins with the iconic intro music and the clock tower coming to more life with the spinning gears, flowers, and other whimsical objects. During the Holidays the Clock face supports a nice Santa hat. The Toy Soldiers doors open and then, 24 children come out of this Clock Tower, all representing different nations and/or parts of the world, as well as the 24 hours in each and every day. The soundtrack of the doll portion is changed completely during this overlay. Instead of playing a great stylized rendition of it's a small world, there is another great mix of small world and the Toy Soldier March from Walt Disney's film Babes in Toyland (1961). This music debuted with the overlay on November 25, 1997. After the parade, the Toy Soldiers stage another fanfare and the center set of doors opens to reveal the time of day, subject to change whenever you arrive. Throughout this video, I got several close up shots of the clock tower, parade dolls, and time. This legendary Disneyland structure was designed around 1965 by Walt's amazing Imagineer Rolly Crump, who put a lot of time and effort into making this detailed façade, with the also amazing Mary Blair adapting it to her art style used throughout the ride's interior. The kinetic energy of this façade is absolutely amazing, although a little less so right now because somehow, all three larger spinning flowers and the windmill are not working. I hope this gets fixed soon! For some reason the windmill typically does not move during the Holidays which I don't understand as it did move in 2013-15 & 1997-99. Not many other changes during the Holidays during the day besides the clock Santa hat and many strings of lights all around the façade. However, at night the lights twinkle in several colors and make the façade look possibly even better than the daytime masterpiece, which is extremely high praise. I love this particular beautiful audio from It's a Small World Holiday so much, that it actually makes me cry nostalgic tears! I sadly never got to go on the ride at Disneyland when I was a kid!! ;( And BTW Benjamin, this is only about 1/4 of the entire audio! It may not be 100% perfect and clean (this means no bleeding vocals from the finale room or instrumental South Seas audio), but I've been SO obsessed with this audio for the past year or 2, because Disney back then (like in late 90s/early 2000s) used to be so good! When It's a Small World Holiday was not yet ruined with the horrid 2008 refurbishment! It takes away the rainforest (which is that covered transition room for Holiday) and adds Disney characters which are unnecessary! :(

Hey benjamin roberson Imagine if fantasyland never had an huge update in 1983 and it still had its 1955-1982 look but they just refurbished the rides and say they recolour the tents and added alice and snow into their rides?
I think that if Fantasyland never had the 1983 update, the central courtyard and dark rides would be viewed as classic, but not as popular as they are today. All of the 1955/58-1982 Fantasyland dark rides were more technologically primitive than the versions since 1983/84. There were more plywood cutouts (Especially in Alice in Wonderland), the figures looked noticeably less like their film counterparts than any versions that have opened afterward (Beginning with Walt Disney World in 1971), and the audio setup was more crude in terms of both less original audio and little to no soundproofing (Evidenced by the rare live recordings).

That You Can Tell In This Footage In The Finale Room Has The Finale.Vocals But It Doesn’t Have A Slight British Accent
I have a question, the facade looks a bit dusty. Is it the camera quality or is it really like that?
I think most of it is the camera quality. However, it seems that the blue on the clock tower did become slightly more faded in the early 80's until it received a fresh coat of blue paint in 1983, the same blue that it used from 1977-1992.
Now only in Tokyo Disneyland we can find Splash Mountain.
The countries existing in this Asia room of the are India, China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia (particularly Bali Island), Cambodia and possibly Myanmar (for the tiger).

Missing the Ghost Host dialogue for the coffin and Leota which would’ve been there in 1969.
the oldest recording of the attraction is from 1971 and it did not have those lines unless they were short lived like the hatbox ghost
