All Amy's songs are driven by some kind of emotional turmoil and nobody does it better. She always pours her heart out in the greatest tracks. This one is made to a stunning visual video and backed up by her hard rock band and an orchestra an together with her beautiful angelic vocals, it's a perfect example of 'Symphonic Metal'. Nobody does it better than Amy. God bless her. ❤ 🙋‍♂

Beautiful song, her voice is so haunting and angelic at the same time, like a wailing, lonely siren, chilling

Evanescence is my favourite gothic bands and Amy Lee voice will forever impress me with her range of styles and the way she sounds so beautiful and hits the high notes
The song is about "her inner feelings toward herself and the fact she has lived wirh sorrow so long that losing it now would be liking losing a part of herself" 🖤🤘

Amy wrote this song about her obsession with dark songs but definitely can be felt and connect tooo so many other things

Amy refused depression medication and healed her illness with music instead she said I would never take something to numb my self and lose my emotions she said that would kill her and her career this is what this song was about. How lithium would drown her will to fly etc

As someone who suffers from bipolar disorder but never got put on Lithium(there are many other medications now but in my opinion they all numb you out til you feel a deep disconnect with yourself) I can tell you that because your brain constantly cycles in & out of different parts of the disorder, any medication will only work part of the time, leading to everything Amy is singing about. Imo, many mental health meds are designed to make it easier for other people to deal with you, not to truly help your symptoms ("Drown my will to fly") This song resonates with me so much in the constant fight to be able to connect to myself, even when manic or depressive, & not get convinced to become a zombie so others are more comfortable with my disorder. Thanks for the reaction...

On that same album they have "Sweet Sacrifice", Weight of the World", and "Cloud Nine". All pretty heavy.

Great reaction! Newcomer to this channel, glad I found it, hope you get the headphone thing figured out! I've got two other songs/bands to recommend to you: I Miss the Misery by Halestorm and Fear of Heights by A Light Divided. Both of them have fantastic female vocalists.

Amy Lee lost her little sister at a young age a lot of her songs are related to that.

You know which channel I think is super underrated? Metal Piano Music. The guy spends weeks composing classic metal songs into classical/relaxing piano pieces and he hardly gets any views. I love his arrangement of Painkiller by Judas Priest. That dude deserves millions of followers 🤘🏻

    I was never on lithium.
But I have been on xanax.
As an addict to multiple illegal drugs i have to say... xanax was more difficult to get out of my system then even methamphetamine.
I thought I was going to die.
My blood pressure was so high when my prescription ran out.
If it hadn't been for my buddy's (now dead)ex wife having some valium to step me down over a number of weeks...
    I'd probably be dead.
Lithium isn't to be taken lightly.
    Its addictive as it gets.
    Use cautiously.
