I am having trouble knowing exactly what questions to ask clients to qualify them as well as to provide them with a good quote. I also want to know how often should I be keeping in contact with them after they book with me. I don't want to be annoying, but I also don't want to seem incompetent or like they're not a priority for me.

What is a video proposal? I am new to the industry and have had this happen to me so many times. I spend hours researching and putting together detailed quotes only to be ghosted by the clients once they receive the information. I would be totally down to try this but not sure what it.
A video proposal is where you get on zoom & present your research face to face. We have found that when you have people over zoom, they see how excited you are about planning their trip & are more likely to book (especially after charging a planning fee for your time). This shows more value around the travel agent as well! 🦋
P.S I am a new agent (Joined an agency 6 weeks ago) from Canada and wondering if the careers on vacation courses would be applicable to me as an agent in Canada?
That can happen, especially when we love travel so much that we want to pour out all that excitement. Maybe try positioning using the client's words & phrases ex: "Remember you mentioned....X...Y..Z.. ? Let me show you why this is perfect....." Also, if you feel like you are giving more info than they can absorb there may be some ways to adjust your delivery & then expand the convo in the question asking phase. Hope that helps. In Careers on Vacation we have an entire module dedicated to that art of sales, so it's hard to relay in just a comment, but hope that helps. Lol. Much success to you. -C
For time management, I would suggest making a schedule & stick with it. Make a list of everything you want to get done & then do the most important things first. There is only so much time in a day & you can't control that, so control the work you get done. For confidence on video, I always say, content is better than no content. It may feel uncomfortable at first but you have to put yourself out there! Pretend like you are talking to another person! I hope that helps!

I am not sure how much time I should give a prospect between the first time I explain the product to them and when I get back to them to confirm & close. They do like you spoke about say 'let me take some time and get back to you'. I've had people who took the information from but bought from someone else online. I wasn't sure if this happens because I didn't follow up with them soon enough? or What? .... It would be great of you could throw some light on this. Thank you & this was a great video! :)
It depends on how complicated the trip is, but generally we like to turn proposals around within 48 hours and close them on that call. If you're doing a follow up after you make the proposal the sooner the better. Hope that helps.

Switch up your onboarding process and set boundaries and expectations for how you work. ;-)
