    This is the first "shred" lick that I set myself to learn. Started very slow some time ago focusing on the technique, increasing just 1BPM per day so the difference from one day to the other is barely noticeable, and now it's almost up to speed. It never felt hard at all. Thanks a lot for your amazing tips, I'd be totally lost without people like you.

    One of those obvious things I hadn't thought much about. I should practice scales on one string at a time. Could change my perception of the fretboard.
    Also as a part two some one string Dave Murray/Adrian Smith inspired licks could be fun. Esp Dave and his legato runs on one string. I know what he does, but tips on how to learn to do it is very welcome, as I can't do it myself:(

    Thank you for posting this lesson, i am practicing one string daily memorization and this lesson will help me memorize each mode much faster than playing all 6 strings while having some fun alternating picking.

    Hi Ben, loving your channel! Very simple and effective explanations, and a good sense of humour ! I wanted to ask about vibrato techinque. The problem I'm stumbling across is when I'm doing vibrato, the note tends to fade away, it's not consistent. I've read that it could be because of the technique, some people mentioned that low action may be the cause of it and even pickups being too close to the strings. Could you elaborate a little bit on that topic ? Thank you, cheers !

      Yep. Throw it down in harmonic minor and get your Yngwie on. Plays well across strings in in the middle of whatever high speed wankery you're inflicting as well.

    I’m having trouble finding the, tab if there is any. Anyone have a link? Would be a great exercise, sometimes I find it helpful to look at the tab while running exercises.

    Ben, what year and model is that LP?
    And is it all stock?

    • @BenEller
      @BenEller  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Condition 0 it says 2009 on the back of the headstock, but my buddy I’m borrowing it from thought it was an earlier model than that. It’s had the headstock broken and repaired (aka Les Paul puberty), tuners replaced, and the pickups are Porter Overdrives.

      You don't want to play like your step dad.... you wanna play like your real dad.

  • @DoodleOfMonk
    @DoodleOfMonk 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's easy, except I can't play it fast at all. It's all in the DNA. You can get faster and cleaner with practice but everyone has a speed limit. Some people just have more fast twitch muscle fibers than others do. I'm at stepdad speed without the child : - (
