I’m one of those who looooove Baseball Highlights. It’s my favorite deck builder by a mile, and the one that most gives me the feeling that I’m crafting a full deck to use later on. The theme helps with that, with the baseball team. As does the structure of the game with each baseball game being its own mini game.
I picked up Planes to complete the set but haven't even looked at the rules yet. The worst thing about it is the box is a different size to the other 2
I’m not sure I understand what you’re saying with Assault on Doomrock. There’s basically no concept of how “close” you are, since distance means nothing in combat, and it doesn’t seem like there’s much possibility for ambiguity: if you’re in a clump with an enemy then you’re in melee range. It’s a binary thing, you’re either grouped with the enemy or you’re not. Of course I’ve only played Ultimate Edition, so maybe that’s something that was tweaked or simplified from the original?
Turmoil is not as good in a 2-player game 3 or more players it gets better plus they added all those new cards that require turmoil to use so made it better

I like Planes. It's a fun mancala game that's easy to teach. The expansion adds a lot of variety.
I think Maracaibo looks fantastic actually. Thanks for keeping this little series alive Tom.
Still really enjoy Baseball Highlights
Maracaibo is still my favorite Eurogame. Fantastic box!
'Ivor the Engine' ran from 1976 to 1977 and was famously set 'in the top left hand corner of Wales' 💖

Absolutely love Maracaibo ❤
