This actually sounds like it could be a really fun deck, which I never thought I'd say about a 99 lands deck (yes, I to think mdfc's count). You did it again Mitch!
A while ago, when Golos was still unbanned, I decided to make a 99 land commander myself. It had gates and stuff, but it mostly focused on doing stuff with tokens from Field of the Dead and manlands like Treetop Village. Although it also had a gate package and cards focused around swinging with your commander like Kessig Wolf Run. I still have it uploaded on Tapped Out under the name "Oops! I played a deck similar to this a number of years ago and people always thought I was getting screwed with all the lands until they realized what I was doing.
Just played this deck over the past weekend. Only played a single multiplayer game but performed well and won with 28 life left. Nothing like feeling nervous because you can't really do much for the first five turns while everyone else commits everything to building up their boards. Then 'Baby go Boom'. I was up to 5th casting of CoA. Could really see frustration setting in on one of my opponents. (It was a new group I'd never met before and the 'frustrated one' tried a hail-Mary cheat and kicked Rite of Replication claiming he could create 5 copies of Progenitus that lost 'Legendary' and had 'Haste'. I called him out on it after we all scooped but left it alone as I didn't want to embarrass him since I was at their house...so, technically, I didn't win because I scooped but none of them had a chance.) I will say I went outside of the budget rules and added Kozilek, Butcher in to shuffle graveyard in case it became necessary. Lastly, thinking about adding Scapeshift to fetch up all the missing gates/Maze's End to win on next turn if not interrupted. Is definitely a fun deck.
Using Littjara as a way to kill your commander through state based effects is just so phenomenally clever I now have to build this deck just to show that interaction off at a tab
I got one in my Reyhan and Ishai Modular deck. Sometimes it pays to copy kill Reyhan with it and bank some good counters onto a triskelion or whathaveyou.
Just the other day, I stopped a Hipatra with my Esper zombie deck by paying 7 mana to cast Nevinyrral, and sack the token copy made by my Reflections of Littjara. Nev wasn't my commader, so no one saw it coming

Thanks for the amazing deck-tech! I was just building a colorless commander deck (Traxos, Scourge of the Kroog) and explaining to my friend that if I go colorless I could run 36 different lands and get a bunch of nice effects that literally no one else would get. This takes it to a whole new level, and I have decided to purchase your deck instead of my $170 Traxos build. I appreciate the saved money!

This is great! I love calling decks like this "kid with glasses decks" based on the playfeel of " well you wouldn't hit a kid with glasses would you" same goes for decks that play for very minimal land drops making your opponent think you have mana drout

you could streamline this deck alot easier by making it 98 lands and 1 cultivator colossus to seal the deal with the win, since colossus will hit nothing but land

It focussed on Goblin Char Belcher.....and it only had 3 lands which were all mountains. It could win on turn 1. Still have it and occasionally bust it out just for laughs.
The 10th triland is Savage Land, the 5th vivid land is Vivid Marsh and the 5th panorama is Jund Panorama. If you already have these or want to add them. What cards would/should be removed for them?

Regardless, it'll be priceless to see my friends' faces when I run this for the first time. Thanks Mitch
With the new gates from the Baldur's Gate set, you can have 20 gates in your deck. And with Gond Gate, now you have your gates enter UNTAPPED. Which is huge. Edit: Also, the prices on those cards (including Baldur's Gate @ $0.98) are each under $1. So within the budget you set for the deck.

(I've also seen a transmute artifact version with Thrumming Stone and Transmute artifact, but you need to play a lot more approaches to minimize brick chance. Darn, my 93 land commander deck has been beaten
Kaho?
@@H191s tbh I haven’t ever played the commander but the deck is sultai, it’s treasure hunt and zombie infestation with a few other cards
Deck: no Wayfarer's Bauble
Mitch: *heavy breathing*
just stumbled on this channel, love the concept. fun decks for cheap are the way I like to play
My buddy had a deck that he sold me when he quit playing. It had a TON of proxis to be perfectly fair, but it was wild. It was basically just mana production and artifacts.
Thank you!
I'd be interested in seeing what this would look like with an upgraded budget.
This is a fun deck, and I have already built it for my next get together with my friends. However, so many enchantments can render Child useless until it's destroyed, and the only thing that combats that is Ondu.
Balder's Gate set has added a bunch of gates for Maze's End.
Cool idea. I want to build this. There`s probably a few companions that would fit this deck for free. Obosh, Keruga, Umori... maybe something else too.
I’m going to look into this one… Thanks for sharing Mitch 🤩
I built a deck a lot like this once, except in place of a couple lands was Ad Nauseum and The Great Aurora, along with a few tutors. After a few games the child of alara hate gets super real and you stop expecting child to resolve, but it's still fun
I have a 92 land Gitrog deck. The trick is to have 8 cards in hand at the end of your turn while Gitrog is out. Discard a land to draw a card then discard step is repeated until you discard a non land, which there are 7 of those. Then do something to put all land cards from your graveyard to the battlefield and Torment of Hailfire like 50 times
Now this would be a list to see. Just got the memes
@paulysautocustoms well it’s definitely adding that new beast thing. That thing it the combo with less steps
This looks awesome! Thanks for the video. I totally want to try it out now.
Ive been wanting to do one of these... Thanks for helping a noob!
Great video Mitch and it looks like a Really fun deck! Probably going to build this one as well!
I'm 100 per cent buying this to surprise some friends with it
Codie commander.
28 Dragons Approavh
1 Tibalts Trickery
1 Reshape the Earth
69 lands (Nice)
1. Cast Codie
2. Activate Codie's Ability
3. Cast Dragons Approach
4. Tibalts Trickery only target off Codie, Trickery will get your only target, Reshape (Just don't mill it).
5. Reshape the Earth gets 9 gates and Maze's end.
6. Survive 1 turn, then Maze's end for game.
(I've also seen a transmute artifact version with Thrumming Stone and Transmute artifact, but you need to play a lot more approaches to minimize brick chance. But you can play any permanents and instant and sorcery spells with cmc over 3, and can win on the turn you become a threat, so it is your choice.)
Fun deck of mine. Kinda similar to this.
