This is the very first time I’ve attempted to make one. Thank you so much for the very detailed step by step instructions! I wish it had only taken me one hour! It took me about 3.5 hours but I took my time. I’m pleased with the results. Thank you again! ✌️👩🏻🦰
This tutorial is absolutely amazing... I'm making arm-knit blankets for the awesome ladies in my life for Christmas this year and this is the ONLY tutorial that I could follow and actually understand!! Thank you so so much :)
Thank you!! I have watched an embarrassingly large number of videos and yours is the first that actually showed it where it made sense! Thank you thank you thank you
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I tried three other videos and kept making mistakes. Your 'palm to palm' explanation was perfect. Just made a gorgeous baby blanket in just over an hour. So excited to start my next project!
What do I do with the extra tail from the beginning? There is about a meter left of the four meters I measured at the beginning. Can I use that to do extra stitches to make a bigger blanket?
Juleen I these are very warm, but ya if you just pull your holes tighter around your arm the homes are smaller andntighter, the tension and all that is (literally, I think I'm funny) in your hands:)
You have been the best tutorial I have found!! Thank you so much! I even catch myself coming back to your video when I get stuck or can't figure out why things aren't working right! Thanks again!
ABSOLUTELY brilliant!!! Thank you do much - I was doing the arm movements along with even though I had no yarn....I cannot wait to start a real blanket myself!!!!!
I tried a smaller version 15 stitches one piece of yarn it worked well but was really loose, so I used it as wall art. Tomorrow I am doing a real blanket. Also, you explain things quite well, and after every other arm knitting video I watched I had to come back to this one.
Gah wish I had enough money to buy that much crazy sexy wool, especially since I live in the US. One day I'll make this but until then I'll just admire from afar. I look forward to seeing the tutorials you all have in store :)
+Nadira Williams Thank you thank you, very glad to hear that you're looking forward to some more of our tutorials :)))) We're really loving making them! I don't know if this is something you've spotted already, but we've got a competition on at the minute to win $2016 of yarn (that's a lot of arm-knitted blankets). All you need to do is enter your email address before the end of Jan (it signs you up to our newsletter, but you can subscribe at any time): goo.gl/kw9Mi8
Agreed! I am wanting to make one for my bed, but I can't really find any tutorials on how to make huge ones. I like over sized blankets, so I always order them a size up, so i wouldn't want to make one that was only like 3 ft. by 5 ft.
+Susanne ghizawat Sure thing! We wrote this blog post a little while ago about it all. Please note that there are lots of different opinions on how to wash wool, we just wanted to go with a method pretty much everyone could attempt at home. goo.gl/8h5Zl2
Help this tutorial repeated itself at 7.50 so I never got to see how you join the wool!!!! Ok I rewound it and it corrected itself thx I've subbed 👍🏼👌🏻
Tien Vu I think to make the holes smaller, you just make the stitches tighter on your arm. But maybe make sure they're evenly tight on each arm?? It should even out I would hope, lol.
I’m teaching myself how to arm knit a blanket and the video Shows you using three balls of yarn, now I have a super bulky thick yarn so do I still need to start with three balls or because Its thicker do I only use one? Don’t wanna mess up since I’m making it as a gift for my mother. Please help
What is the approx. dimensions of this @woolandthegang? I checked instagram and can't seem to find a full after photo. Is there one somewhere? I'm thinking of maybe trying something like this, but would prefer only two strands. Would that still work? You did 28 bands or whatever the proper knitting term is, right?
I could make this with some old rags I have lying around. Just gotta cut and tie them into long strips. Thanks! This will save me from a pile of scrap in my craft space.
I thought yours was a little fast in this just string everywhere it’s really hard to keep track of what is what when you keep moving things around. I’m not going to buy your overly expensive wool. I bought my own because I’m not going to waste my money. I have a type of wool that Will come apart if i pull on certain places in it.
This was terrible spent the whole day getting it right then it was ugly do full of LG. Holes I wouldn't give it to anyone as a gift , if I got it i throw it out...spent the night taking it apart a lot of wasted time ....really dissapointed in it
wow, I have watched countless arm knitting tutorials and this is the ONLY one that has actually taught me successfully!!! awesome video!!
Lindsey Frazier same!! lol

The holes are so big though.. it won't be a very warm blanket would it? Is there a way to make it tighter?
Don't let the holes fool you. Depending on the yarn, this is a very warm blanket.

Juleen I thing how big the holes would be with one strand of yarn
knitting
use smaller arms! :)
This video made way more sense than others I watched!!
You have been the best tutorial I have found!! Thank you so much! I even catch myself coming back to your video when I get stuck or can't figure out why things aren't working right! Thanks again!
thank you, i made 2 and my boyfriend loved them, we used on our couch! will make more as gifts!
ABSOLUTELY brilliant!!! Thank you do much - I was doing the arm movements along with even though I had no yarn....I cannot wait to start a real blanket myself!!!!!
Actually the only vid I've watched that has explained it all! Thank you very much Xx

omgoodness thank you. I have been stuck with the last three videos

WOOLANDTHEGANG
Great tutorial. But What about the beginning great long length of wool?
would've liked to see pics of people with the blanket or on a bed/love seat something to get an idea of the size. great tute tho thanks

This is super helpful! I'm trying to make a baby blanket and this tutorial is working so good so far! :D thanks!
I haven't tried it yet but some of the comments it might work for me too
one day I will make this...
Eat With Justene same
This is outstanding! It's the only video I could learn from. Thanks for an excellent tutorial!
I'm excited to try this out, thank you!
Why did you need such a long tail at the start for the cast on?
Thank you so so much. I have been trying to make one of these forever, and this video helped me finally do it!
I finally got to learn! Thank you so much, excellent video!
Loved the video, you explain very well.
How can I make the blanket tighter? I hope that makes since. I just don't want to be using it and a foot go through it! LOL
You make that look so easy
wow thank you .cod you tell us how to care of wool?
+Susanne ghizawat Sure thing! We wrote this blog post a little while ago about it all. Please note that there are lots of different opinions on how to wash wool, we just wanted to go with a method pretty much everyone could attempt at home. goo.gl/8h5Zl2

Best video demonstration
Would the blanket look better if we tightened the stitches or would it curl up?
Tien Vu I think to make the holes smaller, you just make the stitches tighter on your arm. But maybe make sure they're evenly tight on each arm?? It should even out I would hope, lol.
What are the average dimensions? (Or of the one shown) I need to work out how much wool I will need for a certain size please
hi, how long tale do i need when i want to make blanket 230cmx230cm?and how many stiches?i never did arm knitting and i want to make it as a gift :)

I made just like this but with white fuzzy huge wool

can I use meddle
Can i do it with t shirt yarn I love to do home made yarn
Yes that sounds fun! Give it a go!
CRAZY to knit arm blanket I think I'd prefer using the old fashioned huge needles instead lol...🙄😊🧶🧶
Fascinating!
Once you've run out of the three balls of yarn how do you transfer three more to your blanket ?
10:00
How big was the blanket ?
In my opinion I think that the Lion Brand Hometown Yarn should make a very good thick blanket maybe using 5-6 strands of yarn? Also buy more yarn
What are the dimensions of the blanket when finished?
Hi! The final dimensions will vary, as everyone's arms are different! But it is pretty big!
Do you have to use crazy sext wool or can I just my crocheting yarn
Max & Sad Potato You can use whatever yarn
28 or multiple of...?
Can I do it with 4 strands
If you can afford it, then of course!
how many balls of yarn did you use?
Six
how do u make the holes smaller (the stitches)?
kind of wondering if this could be done with other yarns. Does anyone know?
Cathy V of course it can... Depending on the thickness you want use that many strands
Another good vid. It be really cool to see another male knitter. Maybe you guys can have a guy do a vid?
+Robert “Robato” Uribe You're totally right! The world needs more male knitters and so does our channel :) Noted and it shall be corrected soon.
Thank you! You thught me how!
The holes are too big. Can see toes and fingers getting caught.
I thought yours was a little fast in this just string everywhere it’s really hard to keep track of what is what when you keep moving things around. I’m not going to buy your overly expensive wool. Im making it rn lol
She loves saying crazy sexy wool
Mine turned out looking like a net.. my fault tho I didn't make enough rows.. ; -;)
Except nine balls at £15 is over £100.
Catherine H. Yeah I was thinking that is expensive for a blanket!
So much money
This was terrible spent the whole day getting it right then it was ugly do full of LG. Holes I wouldn't give it to anyone as a gift , if I got it i throw it out...spent the night taking it apart a lot of wasted time ....really dissapointed in it
