For anyone confused at how this question was called gay - that is not what's happening. Instead, "gay question" is being used as a noun (an object, a thing) instead of "gay" being used as an adjective describing the noun "question". Take for example: "The Woman Question", "The Catholic Question", "The Eastern Question", etcetera.
The real question is, why is someone who is gay or lesbian different than you are? They are not different. They are humans like every heterosexual person. Stop dividing people and saying that „he is different, they are different“, bc of their skin color, race, sexuality etc. That sounds wrong. It causes division and separation between people, bc we are slapping the word „different“ on anything that isn‘t normal to us. I‘m glad the rules changed now and gay marriage is allowed.
Snowflake I'm glad they could get married but that MIGHT change cause they R GONNA revisit that issue sooner or later...I JUST HOPE it STAY the SAME as it is NOW...I AIN'T gonna even hold you...😑
It's like "gay" is used by them as a primary identity- like a different species or something. They put it at the front in a strange way instead of just simply loving who they love.
Marriage is a traditional religious institution defined as being between a man and a woman, which was understood by everyone -- including Obama and Biden, see other CNN videos -- less than a decade ago. Asking "Why is someone who is gay different? They are humans like every heterosexual person." is like asking "Why is someone who hasn't studied medicine different? They are humans like every doctor." to justify letting people practice medicine without a license. That's just not what the medical license *is,* just like marriage just *is not* between two men or two women, nor is it "just a piece of paper", nor is it "just showing you love each other". That's what flowers are for.

These politians have it wrong on this issue. This is a *parenting* issue, not a government issue. If parents want their 6 year olds to learn about homosexuals (heterosexuals, or any kind of sex for that matter) it's up to them. If parents want to wait until some other age, that's up to them too.
I think, while there’s great value to just letting people run their households: it’s a matter of fact that gay people exist and also a matter of fact that gay children exists, and whether or not parents talk to their children about gay people or not is the difference of letting those gay kids know that they’re not weird or wrong for it. While I was raised by heterosexual parents, it was never any secret or unknown thing that gay people existed, and when I started questioning my sexuality I had an easy reference. There are far too many horror stories of gay kids growing up in households where gay people are secrets and shames, where they couldn’t be themselves. That’s meaningful damage to deal a child and I know far too many people who’ve lost connection with their kids because that’s how their household was run. Shame and self-loathing are devastating, especially to children.

If Kamala gave a take similar to the first guy, but in reference to trans people. I think she would’ve received a better turn out. The democrats just didn’t stand their ground in regard to trans people the same way they did here. I think that we’re at where we are now because complacency allowed Trump to win and the democrats didn’t advocate for trans people as much as they should have. Trump relied on plausible deniability by filibustering his speeches. Kamala probably could’ve got more votes by making it clear that she would support trans people.
How little things have changed? Gay marriage is legalised in the whole of the United States and its an subject that all Democrats fully support and even the biggest part of the Republican Party, even Trump, supports.
Pretty reasonable argument. Same sex marriage still felt like a social taboo in the era. It’d be like talking about marriage between one and one’s pets or robots today. Jesus orders a man in this passage to leave his parents and marry one wive in a heterosexual monogamous traditional marriage (not for a man to marry a man, not for a woman to marry a woman, and not for a man to marry multiple men or for a woman to marry multiple men in polygamy). If you want to reject the Bible as an atheist/agnostic and justify homosexuality, you would be wrong in rejecting God and His True Presence and His Word in the Bible, but at least you would not be using the Bible to justify it. God condemns LGBT behaviors in several passages in both the Old and New Testaments. To claim that the Bible allowed the behaviors when it has several passages that prohibit the behaviors is an absurd oxymoron (like claiming that liquid water is dry). Again, homosexuality only makes sense in secular humanistic relativism (where humans make their own morals in the absence of God and His Word in the Bible). To claim that homosexuality is right, you would have to argue that God is either wrong or not real, and you would have to claim that the Bible is not the error-free Word of God (because you would have to argue that the Bible at least had multiple errors in the multiple passages where God bans LGBT behaviors).

There still isn’t a good reason to be against same-sex couples . Even Religious reasons are flimsy at best. Family psychology reasons don’t hold to scrutiny either (Or the fact that many heterosexual couples are worse for their children then well-adjusted same-sex ones are) Not to say dysfunctional same-sex couples don’t exist, but to hold up heterosexual couples as some sort of paragon isn’t necessarily correct.
@karatemaster1144 I’m certain I don’t speak for everyone but I personally have sympathy for those people who genuinely have same sex attraction (as opposed to those who are simply addicted to sexual indulgence with little to no limits). Having said that, even though their attraction is genuine, how is the behavior that results from embracing that attraction not deviant behavior? I would never advocate nor even suggest that laws be made to ban such behavior. On the contrary, I would oppose any such laws. But, neither would I advocate that such relationships be given equal footing with same sex relationships. You are unquestionably correct that simply because a relationship is a same sex relationship doesn’t automatically deem it to be a healthy relationship. But the issue goes beyond that singular reality. Same sex coupling is one of the foundations (if not “THE” foundation) of all thriving peoples. It is how families expand generationally. That is historically why governments have incentivized them with legal benefits/protections throughout history since at least as far back as the Sumerian civilization. That simply is not the reality of same sex relationships. And as much as I sympathize with them, and I do not doubt their love, the relationships are not the same in nature nor in practice.
@ I think it boils down to if we think the goal of relationships should just be about procreation - Same sex couples might be “deviant” in the sense that they’re a deviation from the norm, but the partner being the same gender is a pretty arbitrary difference to me. There’s been some arguments that from an evolutionary perspective, they help prevent overpopulation. Either way, I appreciate you tackling this in a respectful manner.
@karatemaster1144 I would challenge some of the points you’ve stated but I don’t particularly enjoy lengthy back and forths in comment sections. I wouldn’t usually make a lengthy response on such a topic but your comment seemed adamant while at the same time respectful. Thus, though I do not necessarily agree with your perspective, I gave your comment a “like” and thought you were deserving of a reply. Your response again proves that respectful exchange on topics of polarizing disagreement are possible. Nothing but respect where respect is observed. Be well in the new year.

2:45 Boy was Obama spot on. It's like Trump saw this comment & thought,"challenge accepted"
Actually degeneracy is vile
Exactly, there are no bigger perpetrators of fear, division and hate than THEM

I think, while there’s great value to just letting people run their households:
it’s a matter of fact that gay people exist and also a matter of fact that gay children exists, and whether or not parents talk to their children about gay people or not is the difference of letting those gay kids know that they’re not weird or wrong for it.
From what I understand that's about switching loyalty from your parents to your wife.
@@jak_the_buddha Matthew 19:5: "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." Jesus orders a man in this passage to leave his parents and marry one wive in a heterosexual monogamous traditional marriage (not for a man to marry a man, not for a woman to marry a woman, and not for a man to marry multiple men or for a woman to marry multiple men in polygamy).

Looking back on this now it’s crazy how much of a slippery slope this shit has been.
Fact!
