DIY Tiny House with the Most INCREDIBLE Interior Design!

- Braelyn and James are two artists who poured their creativity into this beautiful DIY tiny house build. For just under $60,000 CAD they built a 32-foot tiny house with two staircases, two patio doors, and two king-sized lofts with a bridge connecting them. The interior design was inspired by Mykonos Island in Greece, which is where the idea came to have archways, white walls, a painted stone floor, and greenery overhanging the living spaces.

After feeling trapped in the rent cycle in Toronto where the monthly cost of an apartment made it difficult to save money and get ahead, they spent several years dreaming and making tiny house models using foam core. When they were finally able to save some money and received a small insurance settlement, they took the plunge and started building a tiny house.
The couple was lucky that they were able to find a free indoor space to build their tiny house through friends of theirs, and the four of them eventually collaborated together to open a business at the same time - Crystal Cave.
Now the final step is that Braelyn and James are looking for land in an unorganized township in Ontario where it can be legal to live in a tiny house so they can live full-time in their beautiful tiny home on wheels. In the meantime, we were super excited to tour their tiny house and see all of the creative ideas they incorporated into the build.

I feel with quarantine, I’ve been more disturbed by social media and it’s demand for me to consume more. It’s been triggering my depression some, making me feel like I have so little. However, this really reminded me of my own values, thank you for sharing your hard work with us all, it’s truly refreshing to remember it’s not quantity it’s quality and being true to yourself.
Keep looking for and at those things which inspire and uplift you... feed that part of yourself which creates true joy in you, no matter how tiny it seems, it is on the path of joy, and you will find more joyous, sustainable, uplifting paths opening to you in your life.

As I was watching them give us a tour of their home, I was like wow that's really nice...what happens when they decide to have kids?? Then bombshell....I have a 26 yr old son. Like, What?? Literally thought she was 26-32 max. I guess the take-away from this is DO WHAT YOU LOVE she is creative and artsy and it has served her Very Well!

I really dislike that the assumption is that everyone wants kids. "What happens WHEN they decide to have kids?" - why is that the first thing everyone thinks of? Why "when"? Why not "if"? Also, a lot of people who choose the tiny home lifestyle are trying to lessen their impact on the environment, therefore have chosen to be childfree.

Visualization is half the journey. Its So important. I think sometimes people are afraid to visualize out of fear it wont happen. But to visualize is to move forward to make it happen. Faith without works is dead. Great tiny home
This is the most beautiful tiny home I have seen on wheels however I would had dropped the bedroom down a bit more so I had more head room .

@@johnandevefoster3816 Correct use of written language might not be as important on social media as it is in legal documents, but it does help people effectively communicate and understand each other, it can give the poster a more approachable quality, and I think it may help guide our society to a future that's more pleasant to experience.

This is one of the prettiest little houses I've ever seen. As a retired interior designer and architect, making the scale model well ahead of the build cuts out a lot of potential probblems with space design WRT livability. Love the simple Myconos-inspired interior. Love the catwalk. This is actually one of the few tiny houses I could actually see myself living in. Well done!

Tiny houses on wheels have an overall height limit, and having to put so much insulation in ceiling & floor to make this is tiny house fit for all Canadian seasons is what costs the height in the loft space. Can't vault the ceiling and still have it street legal...
A vaulted ceiling would make this design absolutely perfect!

I love this tiny house so much. They have so much stuff, but it doesn't look/feel cramped. The focus on white and textures it's on helps a lot for that.
The aestetic of the bridge is so pleasing. What i love most is the archways and plants around it plus the light that comes, white walls, and mirror, make it even better. It's so cozy and inviting.
This is an absolute gem of a home! Kudos to them for sticking to it and making their dream.

Ive met this amazing woman!! Her store is like no other crystal shop Ive ever been to!! The whole area around where they are based is truly my happy place in this world. There is just something magical about that place. I have been lucky enough to visit the area every year at least once since I was a small child

JE M yes that’s the way I feel too. However, it probably cost as much as a mansion to make it. Of course minus labor cost as they built it themselves, but other than that... my goodness.
Id take the mansion. Sell it, buy a reasonble home on 10 acres and be completely self sufficient with a bundle left over.

I love that they talked about the framing dimensions w/insulation as it provides an idea of the inner actual living space dimensions, which I’ve included on my THOW design list. The pull out extra counter in the kitchen is awesome.
This house touches my spirit so much. It's exactly what I envisioned years ago but on a bigger scale. I am now in my 40's and this size would definitely work for me.
Simply wow. The house is beautiful, I love all the greenery especially. And they both seem like great people.
The lofts reminded me of childhood. We would sit in the loft while the parents were driving the camper van. It was very exciting to watch the road and be up there (though prohibited).

Putting mirrors to enhance the space, how smart. I have done that in my home, but have now added it to my "planned tiny house". Incredible aging, both of you look so young. This is the closest tiny home (and other relatable similarities) I've resonated with so far after many years of watching probably most tiny house videos and documentaries. I have lived in a tiny cabin without electricity, sewer or water surrounded by thousands of acres of prairie and forest. It was heaven. I want that again. But on wheels because of the flood and fire dangers. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. And your beautiful selves. I am an ethical vegan, gardener, and visualize what I DO want. Of all the tiny houses I've seen, this is my absolute favorite! I love the double staircases and lofts. And, I LOVE the bridge!!! I LOVE that!! I love how you cut out inside windows in it...and I LOVE all the greenery you have inside! (I also live Greece, so maybe that has an influence on why I love your home so much!) It's the most clever build I've seen! I also love the"stone" floor!. I'm currently refurbishing a small cabin. Your floor has been the inspiration for my floor! I'm glad I found your video again today--to remember what I want on the floor.
