I am American of Filipino descent. I grew up listening to ABBA. Then Roxette. This is a very nice piece of music. I love Swedish music. Their women are the prettiest in Europe.
I love Johannas voice in this song in particular. I always consider Klara to be the lead with her prominent voice but Johanna get's so lovely deep in this song. Very beautiful. The does it even more so in that Live video from the streets of Paris. Gives me the chills. They should do this more often ;D
4:40 The keyboard girl is looking to the guitar one to see if she has to start the last acustical part of the song, and in 4:43 she passes. Hahaha. So fucking adorable.
I am not sure how to say this, but the thought/question just came to me so I'm just saying it. I am fortunate to be Swedish which has given me the privilage to see them live a couple of times. For me their style can not be compared to any present bands that I know of. But, to the point... It's a straight forward question really: Their sound, their style... don't you Americans just love this?
I'm not American , but I am English and have had the privelage of seeing them live in Manchester. We have a music festival in my home town of Ramsbottom (check out the artists who have already performed here before passing judgement if you will) and I would love nothing more than seeing them headline next year's festival.
The answer to your question is just as straight forward... YES! This band is awesome and their sound is a great addition to the volume of music out today. Who wouldn't love them?
I was watching Patricia richey sound check for Light the fuse and this popped up in an ad....I can't believe they are not American..... 3 really great country singers
Their Father is a former member of the Swedish Rock Band, Lolita Pop. Grew up in a musical family with their own recording studio. They went to English school in Enskede, Sweden. They both speak fluent English and they've been doing music from a very young age. Really Great, arent' they?
Thats because the best music have been from Sweden since Motown collapsed...i'm not surprised at all that this kind of music quality is from just Sweden. I would probably be more surprised if this was made in USA.
snippidippi If it was from the US they probaly didnt dare to be this political. Well idk what u see in this song but I think it's highly political. Which makes it even better to me. This would be supirising for the US today indeed. I saw some comment compare them to Bob Dylan and yeah that's pretty close.
My GOD! Thumbs up if you think she looks like Laurie Partridge from the Partridge Family TV show: I don't seem to be able to cross link to the video, but TH-cam search for "Partridge Family - Tribute to Laurie" and be amazed. And terrific song and performance. You are both super!
Google this: "First Aid Kit Our Mother the Mountain" and click on "Playlist: First Aid Kit's Folk Heroes Features Clash Magazine". And for covers you can Google "First Aid Kit Waiting Around To Die" or " First Aid Kit Colorado Girl" But I'm not very impressed by any of these covers. They are not bad but not good either.
they are so great.. i think everyone should check out the cover of emmylou done by the heart and the void.. search it on yt, i think you might like it.
aparte de ser muy bellas, interpretan de manera maravillosaaaa, wonderful so nice girls!! necesito primeros auxilios, auxilio help me help me, amazing girls
All of you, I am sorry if made my question geographic. The only reason I asked about their (the Americans) thoughts was really because; in my mind, I thought that they just could not resisit this. Dear Mr. Mickram, I would love to visit your festival and I will ask my girlfriend to join me there. If you want to know me in person, send me a msg.
Who's here in 2024? I love this song!

Although they recorded over an hour....and it has been cut and pasted to death. It's a really good combo and nicely played. Well done!

Totally aligned with the universe
looking forward to friday in Bern
Come on now, be fair; headbanging AND musical talent, is pretty darn special.
Good Lord I miss you MoA, glad to see you're still making heavenly music.. pun totally intended. xD
The lyrics are very remst of Townes Van Zandt I think. I would very much like to her these girls do Townes tune.
Do a little search here, they do do some Townes covers.
"Our Mother the Mountain" would be a perfect Townes cover for them. That or "Rake."
Google this: "First Aid Kit Our Mother the Mountain" and click on "Playlist: First Aid Kit's Folk Heroes Features Clash Magazine".

Frank Carbajal It's a sad story....
Makes me remember things from another lifetime almost lol
keyboard player is Moa.(melody of angel) = johanna
Very nice :D
Why am I just discovering her? I've been looking for something other than the music I already listen too, I they have a CD that I can buy
For shame! They are a duo.
Ohhh
and she's the singer??
Indigo Reign Yeah man
Well, they're both "the singers", but the shorter one has more verses.
Oh good to know! Thanks, ima listen to them right now lmao
0:42 Look at the clock, thats awesome
Sounds like a dylan ballad, in cadence.
Norman Guitars made in Canada.
5 years ago.....how old where they
gr8!:D
i don't know why but the radio station scene from Oh Brother Where Art Thou came to mind.
Question for those knowing anything about guitars, why does she have that "clamp" attached to the neck?
Ctuchik It's called a capo. It shortens the playability of the strings, resulting in a higher pitch.
Aah ok, thanks for the reply!
does anyone here know the brand of the guitar she is using? thank you!
the one playing the keyboard...that is MoA, right?
Few songs are kinda Americana. They are mostly European Indie/ folk-influenced music and song-writing.
What cover? Emmylou is a song by First Aid Kit.
1.05 it's keaton hanson??
Oh! 1:47.
compare times on clock at 0:20, 0:42 and 2:08 ...
What about it?
It looks like the girl in the background suddenly realises half way through just what she's witnessing!
Oh god their eyes. What are all these onions doing here
I'd like to hear your opinion on this one guys! My friend and I covered Lion's Roar live here: th-cam.com/video/g2OVw4BGba8/w-d-xo.html
What are their names?
+Strong 22 Johanna and Klara Söderberg.
+Atheb41 svensker?
+Emma Liv Aase Grimstad Ja
Johanna is on the left & Klara is playing guitar.
Both sisters from Stockholm, Sweden.
Their last name is Söderberg.
Johanna is the oldest.
No, Johanna Söderberg is not MoA.
With the mic in front of her Johanna could be Olivia Wilde.
Seriously...who the hell disliked this?
People usually vote for it...
TH-cam recomendations is very nice * sarcasm *
What No Mention of TOWNES VAN ZANDT As Influence!?
I miss MOA!
This American does.
