guys if anyone would appreciate these lovely people for their beautiful videos by watching ads, just to express thanks. Love these vids in these times, when i can only dream to travel.
The glacier is amazing, I want to see one at least at some part in my life. It’s just spectacular and I’m in honest awe of it. I also want to say the little tree hut looks beautiful and cosy 🥰
I live & work in Nz - I've taken a break from work to do a road trip around the South Island (infact I am still on Holiday, as I write this); the West Coast was amazing, so much to see and do, scenery just blew me away. When I was in Franz Josef I also stayed at the Rainforest Retreat, was the perfect place to stay and relax especially after a hard day's walking / hiking; modern facilities, very comfortable, good price, staff welcoming, great restaurant, to which I treated myself to on the last night I was there - I would recommended RR to anyone passing through Franz Josef :) Love your vid :)
Stacey's reaction to seeing the glacier for the first time is exactly how I responded when I saw my first glacier in Iceland! (And them we saw WAY nicer and closer ones over the next few days, which was even more exciting). So glad you are showing exploration footage of Franz Joseph because I've been trying to decide if it's worth adding to the list of "to-do's".
@@DanegerAndStacey it was definitely an epic trip!! Jaw-droppingly, stunningly beautiful. Crazy expensive, and worth every penny. I hope to go back again!
My partner and lstayed at the Rainforest retreat about 2 months ago. We stayed in one of those exact same tree houses. They are really cute. We booked everything in advance online. The whole package included the tree house, the helicopter up onto the snow and the Wildlife center where we saw live Kiwi (birds) and Tuatara. A lot of firsts for us. Nice Vlog...🍻 cheers
Aww memories of my trip to NZ ! I did the drive from Christchurch stayed overnight near Fox Glacier and then on to Queenstown to my Airbnb- some of the best views I’ve have ever witnessed in my years of travelling. Nice vid, thanks for the memories. 🇬🇧
Both the Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers are natural wonders and each one is worth some taking some time to explore. However you choose to explore the glaciers, don't leave the West Coast without taking at least one unforgettable memory with you.
Guys, your channel is such a pleasure to watch! I’m loving it 💖...I’’m super keen to get back to New Zealand for the second time...sending you hugs from Melbourne 🇦🇺🙋🏻♀️
Great video, loved how excited you were throughout. Glacier was really impressive, glad you managed to get a good view. The retreat looked lovely, certainly a nice change from the campervan.
We also stayed at rainforest retreat :) we stayed in the gecko cabins! Using the private gecko village spa while it was snowing was AMAZING! We went in winter! :) we went up fox glacier and it was incredible 😍😍 we loved monsoon too, great price and super delicious!
Hi Guy's OK I hope you wont be mad at me but. as soon as travel opens up I'm coming to do the last part of your trip. I'm a very big road trip traveler and what you guys have going on over there I need some. Donuts, Glaciers and luxury tree houses. I was made for this. Thank you so much for planning my trip for me I owe you one. Great video. Thanks for sharing.💖😊👍😎👏
I've been binging your series for a few days now and I absolutely love it. I used to live in Auckland for a bit and also travelled around. Stayed in the Rainforest Retreat as well! I really want to thank you for your videos. I've been in love with NZ ever since I set foot on it and I will take my boyfriend there for a trip in a couple of years. Your trip gives me so much inspiration! Can't wait!
Looks stunning The glacier 😱. tree house is so cute well equipped exciting time helicopter journey to snowy scenery 😜 looking forward to your next video. Take care 🥰
I remember visiting Franz Josef Glacier back in 1994 on a school trip, the Glacier back then was right down onto the valley floor so sad to see how much it has shrunk over the years
Awesome, awesome post ! You guys are making us proud to be Kiwis,by your authentic reactions, and generally informative narratives.Gotta admit, its been several years since I was last through Franz Josef, but it still looks magnificent, and the town hasnt changed (even the 4 Square). But this journey you guys are on,reminds me of a TV program that aired a few years back called "Go South",and was a 12 hour TV marathon (no ads) that took you on the train from Auckland to Wellington, then ferry across to Picton, carrying on the train journey to Christchurch (I think,it was a few years back),and then by car across to the west coast of the Sth Island then down through Franz Josef,Queenstown to eventually to the Milford Sound, where the end of the journey is on a boat taking you offshore to the Tasman Sea. Essential, but extremely long viewing, and your travel vlogs through NZ reminded me of that. Hope you guys have a safe journey on the rest of your trip...cant wait for the next upload.
That sounds like an awesome TV show, what a compliment to be compared to that 😎 Makes us feel so good to hear this series is making you proud to be a Kiwi too. Hope you enjoy the heli hike vlog (just went up this morn) it's one of our favourites from the whole trip!
Nice trip, I saw the Glaciers, Franz & Fox, back in the early 70s, it was receding pretty fast then, but it was a lot closer to the sea, at least you got to see it in person, well done with your videos.
Amazing! I love seeing Stace so excited! 😁 Looks like the sunshine on your recent vlogs stopped following you. Oh well. Something about the overcast and low clouds make the glacier look more mystical. Thanks for another great vlog!
Started watching this series while I was planning my own trip down south around 1.5 months ago but have been on the trip and back home already and still haven’t seen the bottom half of the South Island!!! Was super excited for tips/ideas. Oh well, next time lol thanks though!
Haha sooooorrryyyyy! When a pandemic takes over the world and you can't leave you sorta gotta slow play your videos 😂 Hope you had a great trip! Ps if you follow us on Instagram we're always more up to date.
Thanks for all the wonderful videos from your road trip! Hubby and I have NZ on our list but really don't know much about what we'd want to see there, other than Hobbiton (LOTR fans way before the movies), glow worms, saw place on the north part of the south island to go out and swim with dolphins, etc. Your videos are helping me put a better potential outline together for whenever we can get there.
We have highlighted everything we did in our Instagram stories if you need any more inspo or just want to quickly find something 😁So glad our videos are helping you plan, always here if you need any help or have any questions!
Stacey thinks it's Saturday tomorrow... don't worry, it's 2020, very few people know what day it is tomorrow! 🤣 And that list of hiking trails made my eyes light up 🥾🥾 ❤️ (adds Franz Josef to the bucket list!)
I truly hope you guys get support from Tourism NZ, because your filmography and just overall presentation is fantastic and Im definitely going to show my friends this whom are interested in NZ... Eventually after Covid
This is abit sad, I was there at Franz Josef 14 years ago and the glacier was literally down the hill and so close to the fence. NZ is still amazingly beautiful country though.
Sorry, my rainforest tree accommodation was supposed to go hear..watched two episodes in one day and got them muddled 😂..was wondering how much such luxury accommodation will set one back..
As tempting as it is, we're still at home! Would hate to take up space in the quarantine facilities when we got back (plus its so expenny to get back in) - sounds like such a struggle for people trying to return for Christmas. Hopefully next year we can hop across the ditch! Fingers crossed 😁
😂 Haha yaaay I'm not alone!! Love a rain head but my god it's miserable when you've got a shower cap on - so loud and not relaxing. Thank goodness for dry shampoo is all I can say!
ok.. I think from now on Dane has to make atleast 1 soundeffect per video..ie in this one @ 4:00.. and when you first picked up ur campervan and described how to open/wentch out the awning... or here @ 7:05 heliChopptah ..lol..typical kiwi dude doin own sound effects...hahahahaha #Mantis............. hi5 Stace and her HeliChopptah ooouuuuuuuh lol
Thanks for the great video of the great scenery of New Zealand but you do realise that the warming up of the planet is causing the retreat of the glaciers? The warming up is also caused by the unneeded helicopter tourist trips and the enormous amount of tourist flights all over the world. I'm not saying you shouldn't fly at all but maybe be more considerable of the delicate planet...
Of course we are aware of that. We completely understand what you're saying and agree that everyone should play their part in protecting the planet. What's frustrating to us is that you don't see all the positive decisions we make behind the scenes - instead you've passed judgement and told us to be more considerate of the planet based on one decision we've made. Either way, we hear you and respect what you're saying.
@@DanegerAndStacey Thank you for your reply and I'm very happy for you both that you've been able to do the highlight of your whole trip (as you've said in your latest video).
