Ruby is BEYOND adorable!! And such a good girl!! We use the word OFF for when my mom's dog jumps, it's short and to the point.You all are so in love with her, it's so beautiful to see!!💕🐶

She is super cute I really hope she can detect Henry's low blood sugars, she may already know just let her smell his hand and she may paw him if he is low I had it happen to me when I was on my way home by someones dog and they said that it was not a normal thing
My Goldendoodles are PERFECT! We just love them! Not sure about having her out and about at such a young age but I bet you don't deal with parvovirus like we do here in Texas. My standard Poodle could detect my lows so I believe you have a bright future with her🐾🐾🐾
We were nervous to bring her out too but our vet really encouraged us to get her out socializing right away so she gets use to everything. If dogs are nearby, we were told to hold her. That's so cool that your poodle can detect lows! That's really amazing.

My golden doodle breeder says my puppy can’t be outside until she has all of her shots. I see at 8 weeks your taking her outside to play, walks and to use the bathroom. Aren’t you worried she will get sick or pick up something that would make her sick? I currently use the pads to potty train her and would rather take her outside to potty train. But let me know how taking her outside so young is working for you and if I would be okay. Thank you!!!
You're correct, she shouldn't be in populated areas outdoors until shes had them. Perhaps your yard if there's never been an unvaccinated dog in it, but not public areas like parks, fields, stores, until she's about 16 weeks (usually that's when their shots are done.)
Agreed. I dont know if things are different in the US to the UK, but in the UK you are seriously risking the life of your puppy if you take it out to areas where theres likely to have been an unvaccinated animal or a wild animal present before the puppy's had its second set of immunisation shots.

@@dreamflight6000 Yup! We picked a boy, we're going to name him Milo! (my-low) My husband works long hours, so I'm home alone a lot and have pretty extreme anxiety problems, so we're hoping that getting a dog will be a good companion for me and keep me company :) Plus with all the training he will definitely keep me busy!! haha
Hello!! Ruby is adorable!! Growing up we had a lab mix and when we were training her the trainer recommended using a gentle leader. It looks almost like a mussel but it does not prevent the dog from opening their mouth. It puts gentle pressure across the bridge of their nose which discourages them from pulling against the leash. My dogs had issues with the harness and would actually pull harder because the pressure was spread across their chest and shoulders so it wasn’t deterring them from pulling. I would definitely look into a gentle leader. Even our toughest leash walkers did well with the gentle leader.

Gentle leaders are awesome for extreme pullers! My guy pulled so hard in his harness when he was little. Gentle Leader also makes an Easy Walk Harness for moderate pullers, which is a great start for puppies. Eventually, after learning through both types of harnesses, he was able to get the hang of it and go back to a regular harness. :)

How is Ruby doing with her potty training? Do you confine her when you are not able to watch her constantly?
She's never wet in her kennel but does in the house once and awhile. Yes, she goes in her kennel or outside when I can't watch her in the house. I basically follow her around in the house and watch her like a hawk.
dreamflight6000 Our mini Goldendoodle, Daisy, is 9 weeks old too. We take her out every hour but she still has accidents in the house from time to time and for some reason she does wet her kennel even if she is only in it less than an hour. Love your wet dishcloth idea and will definitely be trying it. It’s so fun to compare Daisy to Ruby.

Hello I commented about a week ago asking about her biting because my goldendoodle is the same age. Is she still doing that? He’s bad and wants to bite our hands and anything he can! Lol 😩

Now that Ruby is a big girl. Does she still jump? How did you teach her not to jump up?
She still jumps on new people. 😩 She's so well trained but she just can't help herself when new people come to the farm. She doesn't jump on people she's met before.. Rarely. It's easy better than it use to be so that's good. She's 18 months now.

Don’t let her play with or ‘fetch’ sticks. It’s really dangerous and a dog can be seriously injured or even killed. Balls are best!
