I still can't wrap my head around this. I was working at Suncoast Motion Picture Company at the time, so I was buying booster boxes of Revised at a discount at Musicland stores. I probably bought half a dozen of them over a year or so. I can remember sitting on my bedroom floor just tearing through these boxes and sorting out the cards by color. I don't regret doing so, as I enjoyed playing MtG for many years before selling my collection to help fund the down-payment for my house, but it's still weird to see the crowds gathered and the thousands of dollars thrown around to do the same thing that in the mid 90s I did so cavalierly...
I remember bridge shuffling Alpha and Beta power and duals, and playing with no sleeves on a concrete patio. But at the same time I collected pack fresh Alpha exclusively that went into binders and sat untouched for 20 years until I graded and sold it all. Still nothing better than bridge shuffling the old magic cards, just something about the feeling. I have no regrets of doing so either.
If you bridge shuffle unsleeved cards in front of me I'll have a small heart attack on the spot.
Yep, I remember trading my dual lands for Serra Angels and crap. Many of my dual lands and even a few pieces of the power 9 I remember having just got thrown out when I moved. They were just worthless to me back in 93-94. I still regret that though. I do wish I would have boxed it up and put it in storage. Lol

20+ years ago i bought a revised pack at the pecan park flea market. Rudy would know where that is... i got a Shivan dragon. The pack was only 15 bucks then. I still have my dragon!

During highschool (2007)i used my uncles old magic cards he gave me for a chem project. I stopped playing TCG because YuGiOh got me to regionals and the dual lands i used were worth a shit load of money...maybe $100-$150 each at the time. I remember finding them back and selling 15+ cards for about $200 in 2011. I fucked up lmao

I used to have soooo many Moxes, Dual Lands, and other highly valuable (now) cards. I actually think the most of any Dual Land I had was Underground Seas. I had a White/Blue/Black deck I played back then with those, the Moxes, and tons of other great stuff in them. Now, it'd probably be worth at least $50k, maybe even $100k. Sheesh, LOL
Numinous There is no way you had “sooo many” of those cards and didn’t keep them. They were rare when they were released. If you played in the golden age of magic, 1995, unlimited and rare is what everyone collected. Everyone played with 4th ed. mostly.

Edwin the Magic Engineer well out in Las Vegas it is lots of gambling at tables and at the sports book. Getting a room for 3 days and never sleeping in it. Drinking and parting with new people i meet out there. And always going home almost broke but with a life time of memories super hung over and always with a good story to tell
That's crazy times indeed. My time there is probably going to be...
Working the booth with the guys (Dan, Rudy, OB, Clynn, Jeremy) all day and taking video, throwing things at each other, playing old school side games, doing pack openings, lots of yelling, throwing stuff at each other, then collapsing at meal tables to take a breath before hitting the floor again.
It will be staying up until 2am every night playing Old School, looking for a few games for my collection, trying to meet up with other TH-camrs and fans each of us has, taking some time eventually to walk the strip with the crew.
I can't say too much about the events we are planning because i don't want to give it away. But let's just safely say the Vintage Magic booth is going to be EVEN MORE popular than it was last year.

Depending on where you live, using more vegtables like celeriac, turnips and potatos are a alternative, and save money. Also, as long as you are willing to learn how to cook, you can make good food out of most things.

Card prices vary based on current market. Showing prices would only confuse new folks who dont follow cards pricing, into believing they are more or less valuable than they really are.

I used to collect mtg cards when I was younger, maybe 20 years ago. I have 5,000+ cards in protective sleeves in binders. Who do I talk to, or what do I look for as far as valuable cards?
