Okay, so "why is Sogo at Odd Jobs" is pretty simple. The girl stabbed him, destroyed the cakes he bought, so rather than bring the destroyed cakes to Hijikata, who would already be on high guard against ANYTHING Sogo brought him, he took the damaged goods to the local garbage dump, aka Kagura, who will shove literally any food into her mouth without thinking twice about whether it is for her or not. Basically, troll plan A was destroyed, so troll plan B was a go. Also you should watch the episode after this. It isn't an arc, but it is the best single episode for Hasegawa. Great video though
