I remember building my first lego set as a man and it brought back many happy memories.
You chose a brilliant set. Even as a model its a powerful thing to hold.
I took mine to my office in Nottingham uk where I'm from and everyone was impressed by it.
The way you laid out the parts is exactly how I did until I devised a better way.
We in England have these 165ft electricity towers and standing under one is a dwarfing experience, I can only imagine the sheer awe of the Saturn V.
    Take care and stay safe.

Dude, I JUST finished my Saturn V build about an hour ago. Love it. I’m an old guy, 53. Took me 7 hrs. LOL. But, like you, I took my sweet time with it. I really like how you separated the three stages independently on stands. I think I’m going to do that too. Looks really awesome that way. Thanks for the idea! I built the Lego ISS a week ago and got the bug to build more, but after this, I think I’m good for a while. 🤣
BTW…wonderful music selection at the end. Very patriotic.

As you are a Science Teacher, I can just see your passion bubbling over, as you construct this terrific model of the Saturn V. Your organization skills as you layout the parts is great. My Saturn V is in the mail and I will definitely be using your skills to make this an easier construction project. I am retired and at age 74, soon to be 75, this is my 2nd Lego build....my first was a Mustang Car, that I got from my daughter, 2 Christmases ago.
I can just imagine you taking this Model to Class and explaining the build and then demonstrating the stages of the rockets etc. Great video, hope I get mine soon and I know I will enjoy the construction process.

Nice build. I just got one and am in the process of building. A couple of bags each night is how fast i will go in order to savor the build. It was not until I got the kit that I realized the significance of the 1969 piece count. I remember the moon launch well. In fact I remember the first U.S. space launches.
I voted for your X Falcon and hope it makes it to kit. I also hope LEGO may continue the theme. Would be nice to have the Mercury and Apollo rockets and the Russian rockets of the era.

when his broke apart when he separated it is the exact same thing that happened to me and it literally broke the same way. amazingly the third stage seems to be designed in such a way that they knew it could fly off so its very easy to re-assemble. i have mine put together mounted on its stands. Plain beautiful...

I built this model yesterday in about 3-1/2 hours. My history is nearly identical to yours - my brother and I building random legos until about middle school and not since. This is my first lego kit. The engineering really impressed me - particularly how some of the components click together with ball-joint sort of things. While building I could imagine the engineers sitting around figuring out how to do all that. Very impressive model. They need a launch pad to go with it.

As a kid my first Lego Set was the Moon lander set. It came with 3 figures, buggy and vehicle. I moved' to models and my first big kit was an Apollo rocket with all its stages. I could not pass this up and built it yesterday. As a USAF avionics technician for 10 years, I think Lego tried to recreate many of the guts within the panels. I built this set yesterday and was amazed. I'm 6'1" and it reached me to my hip! I plan to pull off some of the cowling when I go to display it and show off the inner workings. Nice Job on the video!

Great video. I built this kit recently but only the builder can fully appreciate the level of detail. I learnt two things from your video.... 1) hadn't appreciated the minifigs are to scale, which makes the Saturn V even more impressive, and 2) I could not work out how to dock the LIM to the Command Module... but I see from 20:33 you need to use the grey version. I was trying to use the white version on the rocket. Thanks.

Enjoyed the video, a cool aspect and hidden from view after built are the fuel tanks inside the first and second stages.
Also note the second stage does not place the space craft into earth orbit, the third stage does that, firing to enter orbit, and then firing a second time to send the space craft out of orbit on its journey to the moon.

Enjoyed giving 22 minutes of my life watching your video!
Not sure what I enjoyed more, seeing you lay out of the parts in immaculate and methodical rows before each build step or seeing you building the rocket!
Kind of gutted the build ended for you, even after 8 hours, you still looked like you were enjoying it so kind of wished the build had lasted longer for you. Not sure your other half in the background would agree though lol
Does look stunning though, a bit hard to find in the uk at the moment, but looking forward to grabbing one when I can.
Great effort and great video! A big thumbs up from me :-)

I always build one bag at a time because of room but I like the idea of all the pieces laid out. I just ordered this on Amazon and it's still $120. My granddaughter and I have built many Lego set's and I can't wait to get this mofo and add to our collection. It had to take you as much time to lay it out as it did to assemble. That was a really cool demonstration of how this works. With me at 70 and my granddaughter at 7 we should get this thing into space over one weekend. Thank you very much for sharing this.

We lived right beside NASA when they launched to the moon.

Bottom stage is the first not the third. Top stage, the S-IVB was fired twice, the second time was in low earth orbit in a burn called TLI - Translunar Injection. It was after this that the CSM docked with the LM. It wasn't done when they were in lunar orbit like you suggested.
