Being a librarian I started to hyperventilate when you found the big box of goodies at Barnes and Noble, I hate it when books get thrown out. Great dive guys.👍
You guys have inspired me. I am an older person, almost 70 and retired. Well I have found wonderful things that I have donated to the youth at church clothing to donate to homeless shelters things. Just donate. It’s donate. Donate donate. And I love it. I haven’t really dumpster dive for anything for myself I feel I have what I need, but the plethora of things that are thrown away that can be used by people in our society astounds me. I never knew they were such a thing as dumpster diving until I watched you guys. Now I am a faithful follower, and Nicole, I have a daughter named Nicole, whom I called Nikki.
We get too jumpy diving at night. Every noise and car freaks us out. Amazed by how calm you guys are
Its so wrong that they rather destroy stuff than let people reuse items that would go to landfill shame on them
EVIL SURROUNDS US IKR? It’s so annoying to see all the stuff thrown out, and then to try and prevent people from taking it by spray painting it.
they dont want people making money on it, you can still use it for yourself.
I agree they could have given it to a good will instead of destroying it
@@heathercampsmith6635 yes, Idk why these unwanted shop items go into dumpster bins at the back of their stores in the U.S. They should padlock them. If a dumpster diver injured themselves and lost a finger or bled to death then there would be a court case. These people are trespassing. Therefore it's the shops responsibility to lock the bins. OR The Op shops and their allocated staff, should be given first preference be allowed to search the bins or hand the items to thrift stores- and resell the items and make money for their charities. It's not fair that random people ghost it at night and they are so proud of themselves on what they have scored.
If everybody went out at night and scrounged in dumpster bins then there would be rivals and chaos.
I also don't know why these couples take 4 or 5 or all of the same item. Leave some for someone else. You are trying to make money on garbage stuff. 😂
Im not in favour of youtubers sneakily stealing these dumpster items. Let these items rest and end their lives, particularly the food !
When you see a homeless hobo out in the streets, even they don't scrounge around in bins for food. It's an embarrassment. There are poorer I need people in society who would love sheets, blankets pillows, cooking utensils etc. But these DDs hoard this stuff and take it home and put things up for sale at their garage sales.

Am I the only one that gets nervous when there is broken glass everywhere and he's sticking his hands in or near it?!?!?! I'm like careful... Lol
PLEASE, PLEASE PUT SOME GLOVES ON!!!! Glass isn’t the only concern but rust on those dumpsters. And some long sleeves won’t hurt either.
If a store is throwing something away why try to ruin it so someone can’t make use of it ? Ridiculous waste seems spiteful to me and small.
Cocanut oil might help paint off some of the items.

Those plastic containers are very expensive. You’re lucky to a found them.
Another idea for the lanterns with broken glass is to put a small potted ivy or other plant in the base. Just leave the glass out and the greenery can spill over.
I just bought my granddaughter 2 file things that are the heavy metal mesh ones on a on line yard sale for 5 bucks for both.

Sometimes I literally scream at the screen saying what the hell why don’t the shops just donate instead of cutting cords destroying stuff and even spray painting things it makes me so angry 😡💗 love what u do 😂
How to Draw clothing often is. If it can be sent over seas, they'll often donate. But if it has a chance of being returned to the store, they won't.

Add flowers and a candle holder in the middle of those lanterns for a great centerpiece. You don't have to have glass for that

Caitlin Poe It's kinda funny, a lady pulled up to the back of a thrift store and was dumping stuff by their back door. She told me it was illegal to take stuff from the dumpster while she was dumping stuff in front of the sign that said not to leave stuff for donating by the back door. I laughed and told her that a cop watched me dig in a dumpster in broad daylight and didn't do or say anything. She started to call the cops, I simply walked away...looked it up online, it's not illegal to dumpster dive as long as it is on public property, but if it is enclosed in a wooden gate, it can be treated as private property. I'm still laughing about her ignorance and lofty attitude.

Unfortunately some people in our town would dumpster dive and then try to return the item to the store for cash. So the store had to destroy items to avoid the cheaters

Found my 1st fully functional XBox One with power supply and a working controller the other night. And it wasn't in a Gamestop bin. Was in a 5 Below. Funny thing is, when I was waiting on my ride to come back around for me, I looked in their cardboard only bin ( cause sometimes they get lazy and toss good stuff in there ) and there was a homeless guy sleeping in it.
HillbillyJimPWNS omg that would have scared me so bad! A few nights ago I was out and looked up from diving and there was this homeless guy just sitting on a bench by the dumpster eating a sandwich. I was a little spooked, he was pretty friendly but will definitely be more cautious when I'm out alone.
Oh man I got some of those pots they are awesome mine were spray painted as well but when I washed them up and the paint scrubbed right off. At least we know the nonstick works!
Side note, you might want to go to a truck stop and purchase a 5th wheel puller. That would give you a 30 inch reach, handle on one end hook on the other.

I love that trunk...I too thought right away u can just paint it. Lol. I also am a lantern person. I loved ur video on how u decorated ur house... u gave me a few ideas. I want to put an arrangement on a tray on my kitchen table, with a small lantern. I loved the floral garland you put over ur fireplace. I know there is more oh the arrangement u have at the bottom of ur staircase. I definitely gta get out there n dd. Hugs to u both.

I’m from Ohio and it rained for like 3 days🤦🏻♀️ went to ulta today and everything was souped I did manage to get a few things from them lol my kids loooooove going with me! Unfortunately our five below locks their dumpster on the side. Need to find a way in it lol

When you work in retail they tell you if you get a shipment of stuff in, like pictures or glass and something sounds broken that your just supposed to throw it away without inspecting it because they don’t want glass everywhere and they don’t want you to get hurt. That’s why there’s one broken frame and four good ones.

Another video I saw somewhere uses hand sanitizer to get out the spray paint on surfaces--not sure if it works on fabric though.

The book didn't hit straight into the cutter. Those lines that bind in books can run dozens and dozens of books a minute and if something goes wrong more than one book can run through the line before they can get the machinery stopped to correct the problem. Sometimes a bunch.
I live in New Zealand and no body throws stuff out like what you guys are finding but if you take stuff from a dumpster it's classed as theft and we can be arrested. Even if it's food.
