Thank you so much for this video! My toddler was put on a longer term dosage from her GI doctor. it's been 6 months so far and it has worked wonders. She had become resistant to pooping after potty training. We have another GI check up appointment at the children's hospital in about two months. We are extremely happy with Miralax and the relief it has brought to our baby. She use to scream her lungs out when she had to go poop. My family is so thankful for this medicine. She now goes happily to the potty and no issues.
I am a little afraid when the time comes to come off of it. I hope the consistency of her poop remains soft and that we don't regress. Prayers appreciated :)

Yes it’s a great medicine for many circumstances/kiddos. So glad it worked well for y’all! And often providers will do a slow taper to make sure kids are ready to stop it and can still continue with soft/regular stools so hopefully it won’t be too stressful when it’s time to wean. Best of luck ❤️

Hi Jesus, would you mind sharing the dose you are giving to your toddles? Thanks.

@@fernandof.9103 A year ago, when her problems started, our pediatrician said half a cap in (1) drink per day: it can be added to apple juice or gatorade (or something they will for sure finish drinking). And we usually gave it to her during her lunch meal. We use the small normal toddler cups and she would finish everything right up. Our pediatrician still has her on it. So we faithfully give it to her everyday, but only (1/4) capful. If she misses during the weekend, it's not a big deal. She has been doing really good!!! We added the activia dailies with probiotics as well to her daily menu.

So, you're saying MiraLAX was approved by the FDA for use by adults 17 and older, and these adults shouldn't take it for longer than 7 days. And, although it hasn't been approved for use in children, you say not only is it safe for children to take, but they can take it indefinitely with no issues. Something about that doesn't add up. I also don't understand why they don't just get it approved for use in children using proper clinical trials. You say it could be because of ethical problems with conducting scientific experiments on children. How do they get other drugs approved for use in children?

If you haven’t already, I’d recommend consulting with a GI specialist if constipation has been that longstanding. They can help find the best course of treatment for your daughter. Best of luck ❤️❤️

thank you for this video. My son who is 4 years old has been struggling with hard stool, since we started potty training. He has been on miralax for about a year. We are currently trying to taper him off though, whenever we get to like an 1/8 of a cap or none. his stool becomes almost ROCK hard. the doctor continues to tell us to up the dose of miralax... but what does this mean? is he going to have to take this medication for the rest of his life? i have no idea what to do, i feel like im failing my son.

Aw I’m sorry constipation is so tough. Most kids don’t need it long term but some kids need it for longer than others. Dietary changes can make a big difference so increasing high fiber foods, prune juice, water intake etc. I know it’s so frustrating trying to figure out what will help. I wish the best for you and your son ❤️❤️
