"The best" vacuum cleaner doesn't exist. Each machine has pros/cons. You just have to find middle ground with something that will accomodate the types of flooring in your home and something that you wont dread using every time you pull it out of the closet. Nice in depth video , I enjoyed it.

The Sebo brush roll is designed to be replaced as quickly and easily as possible with no tools needed by custodial staff who are paid by the room and in a hurry to get their work done. If custodial staff have to unscrew bottom plates and mess with belts and bearing end caps you get screwed up vacuums and more problems. Staff that are paid by the room, a common thing in the hospitality industry, don't want to have to wait for a tech or a manager to fix their vacuum so they can get back to work.
The belts and bearings never go bad on these. Your concerns come from experience with bagless plasticrap and pancake motor stuff and are not based on long term experience with Sebo products. You will burn through many many brush rolls before you will ever need a belt or bearing cap on a Sebo.

The review is very much in line with my long-term experience with my Felix.
In comparison, I wouldn't recommend the Dart for home use. The collapsible handle makes the lift-off function way more comfortable (still not perfect.) The difference in price is negligible.
There is an extension hose as well as an extension wand. The latter also stores on the attachment holder.
Sebos aren't cheap to buy but they last a long time. And if something breaks, you can get a lot of reasonably priced replacement parts. They are designed to be easily serviced and repaired.
In the long run, in the sense of total cost of ownership, Sebos are the cheapest to run.
If I could use only one vacuum cleaner, the Felix would be up there on the top of the list with the Miele upright. If it was a canister, it would be a Sebo E or D series, or a Miele C3.

This was a really good in depth review. I got the Kacher commercial variant. Nonetheless, I’ll update my comment to talk about my experience with it. It was 423 US dollars, and I hope it works out well for me. I’m getting it tomorrow. This review was better because when looking at other vacuum channels, they don’t really mention all the things you said. It helped me out a lot

where did you get it? And when you need to replace the bags/fiters... will the dart/felix supplies work?

The original owner (me) has never had an issue with dirt covering the pre motor filter.

I’ve always been curious about how good or bad the Sebo Dart is until I found this video, it’s disappointing how expensive the Sebo Dart is. I would recommend this to anyone who may be interested in buying this vacuum, I definitely love how quiet this vacuum is and the white color definitely looks very nice. I like how easy brushroll maintenance is compared to Shark and Dyson vacuums, especially the warranty and longevity on the Sebo.

Definitely keep an eye out for used ones, you can get them often for under half of retail

What I find that keeps the vacuum bags netural smelling is simple... Get one of those canisters of fish aquarium activated charcoal... looks like charcoal pellets...About every 3 vacuums I pour a couple of tablespoons (give or take) out onto lid the charcoal pellets come in...and just suck them into the bag...It takes me forever to fill a bag...and over time, even though I don't have pets... the bags can sort of get that stale smell....but this totally elimiates that... I can't smell anything....I've had this canister of charcoal for probably 5 years at this point... It takes me forever to go through it... The charcoal you sucked up with eventually get covered up and not be as effective... so every so often just keep sucking up a little more... It's crazy to turn on a vacuum that has a five month old bag and smell NOTHING. I'm not sure how well this would work with dog hair or something like that...

If they redesigned the bare floor tool to make it stand up people would definitely purchase it.

The Felix / Dart power nozzle is exactly the same ET-1 power nozzle sold with Sebo canister vacuums. No difference whatsoever. In fact I replaced the weird-Harold ET-H power nozzle tha came with my Sebo C3.1 canister with an ET-1 from a Felix. The necks are identical so the canister wand plugs right into the Felix ET-1 base. You could even stick the big ET-C power nozzle under the Felix and Dart. In fact putting an ET-C under that Dart would remedy a few of your complaints! There's an on-off button on the ET-1 (reminds me of old Hoover Quadraflex and Panasonic Jet Flo power nozzles ) is because Sebo canister hoses until last year 2023 didn't come with an on-off switch for the power nozzle. Now their hoses have a power switch for their power nozzles and the on-off button on top of new ET-!s and ET-2s is gone.

The Sebo Dart and Sebo Felix are like the Honda Accord or Toyota Camry of vacuums. They don't do anything the best but they do everything well, you can repair them easily and they last a long time. I totally agree that Dart/Felix is top heavy and the short stretch hose exacerbates that problem. I think if you like how the Dart/Felix moves it's one of the best upright vacuums out there.
If you have a bad odor for the first minute it might be time to replace the outer filter, you don't know what it picked up by the previous owner.

If I were gonna use this... this is how I would do extension cleaning... first. take the dart off the PN... where it's sitting on the floor... then connect an extension hose (in my case, it's 12 foot and comes with its own wands and tools) hopefully it would fit with an adapter...then just clean all over the freaking place....high and low... and when you're wanting to just vacuum the carpets... pop the hose off...put the PN back on and go....
