If no one holds him accountable, then the next time he speaks will be even worse because he knows he got away with it.
It’s so difficult because we are in a culture where there is a large lack of ownership and responsibility when it comes to thoughts and actions. You are always responsible for the things you say, they have repercussions whether you intend them to or not. You can also evolve away from your previous thoughts and actions and you should have privacy and room for fault. More people need to be more responsible, but it is also an over step to get people fired for lack of foresight for the same reasons as the original incident (there are repercussions). So how can you incite more responsibility of thought and actions?
That lady that got fired from Home Depot for her opinion didn’t deserve that. I don’t care what opinion my cashier holds. They have no pull in politics and that man is just as bad as that annoying lefty that got that teacher fired for supporting Trump.
As someone who worked in corporate America for 13 years you are told that you are a representative of your company regardless if you’re on the clock or not. Ideally, we should all be all three, but that does not mean we should look down on individuals who are do not meet this "Purity Test". Too many people online are drawing the line where a person "Should be". Instead of accepting them for what they are. It is impossible to agree on everything. So, let's embrace what we do share and let the rest fall in its place.
Matt Walsh is too far right for me. Like everything, the idea of being conservative is a spectrum. He needs to understand that. Not everyone that considers themselves “conservative” is some God fearing, bible thumping, prudish, straight man/woman.

About Amber Rose I have to say that if there were people calling themselves Christians and judging her for what ever she has had going on in her life previously (or even now) then they can't call themselves real Christians. Christianity is about grace and forgiveness and Jesus himself said: "The one who is fully sinless may be the one to through the first stone.." (Which no-one ofcourse is..) Muslims stone people, Christians do not.

I think it depends if Home Depot has a social media policy that explicitly says social media can affect your employment. In that case you agree to those things when you are hired.
There is a story of another woman who had led somewhat of a questionable life up to that point. In John 4, she met Jesus, the One who is Himself The Truth, at a well. She was so convinced he was who he said he was that she had to go tell everybody about it. Her whole town came to Christ because of 1) her sharing what she had experienced and 2) them all coming to find out for themselves. The account ends with the townspeaople telling the woman, "It is no longer" (but totally was, at first) "because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know...."
However, when you say those things you are condoning murder. We are all adults and we all understand that there are consequences for our actions. If people are losing their jobs, I believe there should’ve been a considerable amount of more thought behind the statements they chose to make public. Though I do agree, we should not as a society push for someone to lose their job over what they have said. But again, if the consequence to your action is that your company cannot be associated with you that is their right.
Republican and conservative are not the same thing. Conservatives have conservative values. You can have a Republican economic stance, vote Republican and still not hold conservative values.
The end goal needs to be that there are consequenses for your actions. If that means people get fired then so be it, those are the consequences of her action.
I rarely disagree with you, but I disagree with you here. Destiny isn’t being deplatformed, he can still speak. He is not entitled to have someone pay him for such content, especially if these words will lose advertisers. Many advertisers don’t want to have to deal with constantly resetting their ads every time some jackoff says something dumb. They will just quit advertising. He is essentially an employee if he is being paid. If an employee goes around driving out business why should they keep getting paid? I think this is exactly the appropriate response by X. Banning people is not.
Just to say it again, Matt Walsh is fringe. The core of the Republican party is at the RNC. Those are Trump's base, and as we can all hear, they cheered her. So I don't know who "all these" who are complaining are? Given that Matt Walsh is fringe, I'm guessing they are fringe too. People on the fringe (all groups have them) might make a lot of noise, but they are still fringe. The core of the party are the people at the RNC cheering her. So really, this is a nothing story. Republicans are exceptionally united and the fringe elements are just mad that they are becoming even more irrelevant, so some are having an infantile hissy fit. If you think about numbers, if Amber Rose convinced just 1% of her followers (1 in 100) to change their minds, that's over 300,000 votes, which a lot. If it was 1 in 10, that would be 3 million votes. That's probably not the case, but as CNN said (Van Jones), she just dropped a "bunker buster" on the Democrat's coalition. He's not wrong and everyone knows that, especially Matt Walsh, who's just pissed he's irrelevant and impotent. We should just send him (and anyone who agrees with him) to sulk on the corner, not give him any attention. PS: Even CNN was shocked out of their "we hate all Trump supporters!" narrative by Amber Rose -- they praised her presence, her delivery, her charisma, her talent, her ability to communicate and even said she has a great future in politics if she wants it! Maybe that pissed off Matt too, since none of those things apply to him.
Amala is right , we conservatives should avoid at all costs in being self righteous in criticizing others , no matter whether they are righteous in our eyes or not . Like many of us , hopefully they may learn and improve ...
Matt Walsh is annoying. This is far from his first cringe moment. He also constantly talks down to the nerd culture about their hobbies like they really care what he thinks.
I have to say, I'd never heard of Matt Walsh before. I saw his comment about Amber and assumed he was just another leftist. I just looked him up and he's supposedly right wing, but he's no actually different than the far left. And yes, I love that Amber Rose spoke at the RNC (I had no idea who she is either - had to look her up too). I can't imagine that happening back in the day, even though throughout my lifetime, Republicans as a group have always been more tolerant and open-minded than their opponents. But this raised things to a new level and makes me happy! And, no I don't think Republicans are fighting at all. There are a teeny-tiny number of annoying people trying to get some attention. No real Republican objects.
We should welcome anyone who is waking up and has the courage to speak out. Also I thought she sounded relatable and looked pretty classy face tattoo and all!

Elon is still allowing Destiny to be on the platform and express his right to freedom of speech. However, as the owner of Twitter, he does have the right to choose not to run ads on certain peoples content if he believes that it is not appropriate to run ads on content like that. If the companies want to sponsor Destiny’s content, they can reach out to him directly and still have ads run on his content. There’s nothing stopping these companies from doing that however, these companies paid Twitter to place their ads on top content creators so it is within Twitter’s control to decide whether or not they’re gonna run the ads on that person‘s content.
So Republican is an ideology, Christianity is also a separate ideology. They are different. You don’t have to be Christian to be a Republican. Yes this country was founded on some Christian principles but the founders also had sense to put in the constitution that we will not be a country that will discriminate against religious beliefs. If you remember that was the reason we left England bc of religious discrimination (ie Catholicism, Puritanism). Amber Rose learned that her reason for objecting to Republicans and Trump bc of the lies she was fed by the Democratic media. Everyone should be welcomed. We don’t need to lean on gatekeeping. Especially as if we hold Christian beliefs. We need to be welcoming just like Jesus told the woman who was caught in adultery. He told her she was forgiven and to get up and sin no more. If we claim to be Christian we are claiming to be Christ like. WWJD? I know it’s a cliche but it is so true. Now as far as cancel culture goes the celebrities need to feel the hurt, in their pocket book. Everyday citizens need to think twice about what they say especially publicly ( ie Twitter (X) Instagram Podcasts, Liberal media) etc. Now how do you learn to not say anything publicly. 🤷🏻♀️ That’s a thin line to cross. How should the public deal with these incidents? That’s the question.
I don't think Elon demonetizing is a bad thing honestly. I only say that because on things such as Facebook and TH-cam people are censored and demonitized constantly. Especially conservatives. Even for just speaking facts in some cases. So sure he can still use the platform but not necessarily allowed to make money.

And this was about 5 years ago before Covid and everyone being on social media. It’s what a company expects from their employees. Should she have been fired for her views it really does depend on her companies policies. Remember to read your handbooks everyone it could save your jobs. Just saying.

Hollywood went through this once before. It was the silent screen group that were transitioning into talkies.

People rarely change their minds because you shame them, and even less so if it's done publicly.
We’ve known Jack Black was not fond of Trump. He’s endorsed Biden. I’ve separated art from artist with him for a while, he wasn’t super obnoxious about his politics and he was just goofy and entertaining on his social media for the most part. Hearing his bandmate Kyle sing about wanting the shooter to not have missed and Jack Black allowing him to and the dancing along with him, makes me so sad…
The Republican party is not limited to conservatives.
People have to learn that just because you think something you should not always say it.
Everyone has a journey… Perhaps she hasn’t been till now but will she become a genuine and passionate conservative? I think some of the answer to that question will depend on how she is treated by conservatives in this critical moment in time.
