    In today's video, I give you The REAL Secret to an Unstoppable Fadeaway Jumper! A fadeaway is a shot that if mastered is almost impossible to stop! These simple basketball fadeaway moves are super easy to implement for players at every level. By implementing these fadeaway jumper tips into your game you can almost immediately skyrocket your shooting scoring and your overall basketball skill level!
    My first key to mastering the fadeaway is what I call "Creating Contact" contact is something that goes overlooked when it comes to doing an effective fadeaway but it is extremely important if you want to be an elite scorer on the block! If you look at the elite guys in the NBA who have mastered the fadeaway think of guys like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant both guys do a fantastic job of keeping the defense guessing using their bodies to create the contact before going into their fadeaway jump shot. This contact typically lets them get an easy look at the basket because it miss times the defenders contest. Another great thing about creating contact is it helps you create massive separation on all of your moves because you are using the defense's momentum against them!. So if you want to really skyrocket your scoring you absolutely need to implement creating contact into your game! Make sure you implement lots of contact when working on your fadeaway jumper if you really want to make more fadeaways!
    The second tip to mastering the fadeaway is something that a lot of the top NBA guys do and that is what I call "splitting the leg" This tip alone can help you to limit the chances of the defender getting a good contest on your fadeaway because with the contact we talked about and splitting the legs it will be extremely hard for the defender to jump up and contest the shot without fouling you. If you slow down a lot of the top guys in the NBA when it comes to shooting fadeaways they all do a great job of splitting the leg before they go into their fadeaway. This is a great thing for guards to do to move the defender out of position just slightly so you can create enough space to get a shot off.
    Our third tip to mastering the fadeaway is getting your chin on your shoulder! If you have watched our channel before you know here at Shotmechanics we are extremely big on targeting before shooting. Basketball is a hand eye coordination sport so the longer you have to look at the target before shooting the more likely you are to hit the shot in the game. Getting your chin to your shoulder will help you target the rim as early as possible thus giving you a greater likelihood of making the fadeaway. This secret key is huge to making more shots in general so make sure you are always getting your eyes up on target early to hit more shots!
    My last tip to mastering the fadeaway is the "leg drift" The leg drift is super important if you are shooting a fadeaway going into your dominant hand! The leg drift helps to release any shoulder tension when shooting, and it also helps with getting your hips on the rim thus helping you shoot the ball much straighter!
    As always make sure you are paying close attention to these basketball shooting tips so when the time comes you can really expand your game to the next level! Watch the video all the way through and implement these the real secret to an unstoppable fadeaway jumper into your game today!

    • @willhooke
      @willhooke 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes Kobe, even when dribbling with his left, will bump then shot.
      Other times he bumps then spins then takes the shot.
      What is the advantage of putting in the spin, or not?
      +++
      And when backing the Defender down, is it better to do it facing the key, so you can see other Defenders, or is it better to do it facing the baseline?
      I would have assumed facing the key, but I think MJ did it to Kobe facing the baseline....

    One more tip I'd add is to shoot it both harder and higher than normal. At the beginning, I found that since I needed to shoot with extra power, I'd often start pushing the ball towards the basket with less arc, but after I started purposely shooting harder and higher, it became a lot easier.

    Can't do this in a street game , bumping defenders to create room unless your under the basket will get me punched in the face. This is the main reason the crossover is the main move for smaller players as bumpers if they are not big enough get thrown to the ground . Very important you have to be heavier or taller then your opponent to do a proper fadeaway and get away with it. This is why Wilt Chamberlin invented the fadeaway. It allowed him to be taller and stronger without being too rude with his scoring.

    One thing I continually see in kids or women's basketball is missed layups (or other very short shots). They seem to continually drive right into defenders, make contact, and miss the layup. Suddenly a 99% 2 pts turns into (maybe) free throws and 50% of 2 pts. It's crazy. Why is the "easy" shot the hardest at times.

    I like to know some opinions on this one from all levels of basketball ball.
    : I'm the type of player who early into learning basketball I was very comfortable in the post only be 6'1 and 175 and never thought of taking jump shots because my form was horrible but I found a strange rhythm with hook shots and the over all flow of driving to the rim and giving nice finishes on some really good defense. Kinda makes time almost slow down and you can fix your shot better but Through it it made me curious on extending my range and slowly floaters came in and I wanted to try fade aways but never had a "proper form" for trying and yet soon that same feeling flow and time slowing feeling comes and i just get in some hot spurts for a while. Ya de yadda I start thinking and experimenting different psychological differences while playing with music or when with friends just play to make the most insane type plays and just keeping energy up and our shots would start to drop at an even higher rate when half the shots made had no business being in our playmaking package.:
    I know that was much but with that I leave you with is, is it really about learning the fundamentals or is it really about finding your rhythm through playing a variety of different skill levels to see what makes you tick?

    I only have like a half inch vertical wen I shoot fades, I barely leave the ground, and I’m only like 13. Any tips?

    • @tsogtzuldulguun1684
      @tsogtzuldulguun1684 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I’m late to comment but doing workouts helped me increase vertical leap a lot. I only worked on my legs for 2 weeks and my vertical jump increased from somewhere close to 12 inches to 20 inches.

      Chris Henny it’s exhilarating getting rebounds over taller people 😂 . i play basketball with a lot of heart and i’m combining that with my determination to get better, it’s very mental game especially for me since i’m only 5’5 .

    • @beatmasterdre7477
      @beatmasterdre7477 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chris Henny i usually physc myself out and pretend i’m in the nba with commentators commentating, i’m not a sore loser like i used to be because my mind let’s go of the missed shots and the game . i’m working on becoming a slasher and midrange specialist because my 3 pointers is like... it doesn’t satisfy me as much .

    Also how do you increase your vertical cause I'm in primary school and I'm only 11 and I'm not that strong or skinny I'm like medium but I can't shoot effectively at the three point line I usely brick and rarely make them in. Also my jumpshot is horrible and I can't layup cause I'm only 4'6

    I wonder why only few players can consistently score with that move? Specifically professional players,, however it’s not that complicated based on my experiences as long as you are aware of proper execution in complete details, don’t give up though motivate yourself by countering the thoughts from being around negative into positive by thinking yourself not everyday you will fail so keep working hard til the failure disappears for good and the only outcome option left is success..

      Watch the 2013 spurs highlights. Threes are usually shot off drive and kicks and on the catch, not off the dribble. Use screens and encourage teammates to set good screens. They simply exhaust the defense since they are getting hit and have to use much more energy to recover to ensure the person getting the screen doesn’t get a wide open shot. Learning what to do after a screen has been set for you is a very helpful skill. For that I’d watch Klay Thompson as he knows how to cut off ball very very well. Don’t force shots and know how to create passing angles. On defense, always give some space while on the ball until they hit a three of a dribble on you. Know that when a big helps on a drive, the ball is probably going to him so know how to bait that pass and then just try to help rebound instead of watching
